Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Pure & Free Baby SPF 60

I lucked out and got a bottle of this with a free mini travel-sized bottle. Yes, it does have a whitish cast (although when I rub it in, it pretty much all goes away), but I'll take a physical blocker any day over a chemical one. I use it over my mattifier and under my foundation. It doesn't make me any oilier, that I can tell, has basically no scent, and it doesn't irritate or breakout my skin in any way (huge plus). I live in Southern California, so I have to take more care with sun exposure, as I'm very fair and burn easily. I'll really put it through its paces when I wear it surfing - I'll try and update with the result.

Powder -Everyday Minerals - Foundation Matte Formula

HG foundation. I've tried a lot of things - liquid foundations, tinted moisturizers, and other mineral makeup brands. Most of the time, with the other stuff, I have trouble with the color oxidizing, or with the foundation melting off my face. I love the color-range that EDM offers, and the price is more than acceptable. I also really like the new packaging of the large-size foundation, that has a plastic cover that slides over the holes to keep the foundation from filling up the lid when traveling. I use a flat-top brush to apply this, after using a MOM/water mix as a mattifier (and putting on sunscreen). I also use EDM concealer after I have put on the foundation. I've found I don't need a lot of coverage - mostly on my t-zone. The foundation looks totally natural - almost like I'm not wearing any makeup. When applied correctly with the right brush, it doesn't look powdery or chalky at all. I am in a classroom for 10+ hours at a stretch, and I don't have to touch-up my makeup at all. And an extra bonus is that it makes one less thing to go in my 1 qt liquids/gels ziplock bag when I travel - who would've thought I could ever have carried on all of my makeup!! LOL.

Skincare - Face -DHC - Acerola 100

I love this stuff. I first tried it as a sample, and was shocked to notice a difference after only using it a few nights. I really never expect to see any sort of change after only using something a few times (and honestly, wasn't even really looking for one), but there was a definite shift in the luminosity and clarity of my skin. My skin is not great on its own - sensitive and prone to breakouts, so my dermatological routine is usually a fine balancing act to keep everything looking good :). I like a lot of DHC products, and am officially in love with the Acerola 100. The only downsides are possibly the smell - yes, it smells like maple syrup to me, too - and the glass bottle. It's a little sticky when first applied, but it soaks in after a few minutes. The smell lessens a lot, too, and I usually don't notice it again until I wash my face the next morning. I know some people think the smell is gross, and I'm not a huge maple-syrup fan, but I now associate the smell with good-looking skin, so it's ok. LOL.

Styling Products -Organix - Nourishing Coconut Milk Weightless Mousse

I bought this initially for the smell :) ... however, as a mousse, I think it works fine. I have super-fine, long, color-treated hair, and almost always let it air-dry. After I get out of the shower, I usually spray on some Rusk Brilliance leave-in color protector, and then put some of the Organix mousse in. When my hair dries, it definitely has more body than usual - nothing crazy, more like what I wish my hair would be like naturally. And it smells so good (the smell sticks around, too). If I was really picky, I'd probably put something on my ends to soften them slightly, but overall, I'm happy.
