Cleansers -Christian Dior - Lait Magique Cleansing Milk
dancinxelise 10/18/2008 6:36:00 AM
I recently switched mascaras and the new mascara is an absolute pain to remove with my normal make-up removers. Then i remembered that I had a mini bottle of this stuff (the cleansing milk for face and eyes) so I tried it and wow it actually managed to remove the impossible mascara =) It does sting a little if you get it in your eyes but it's not too bad. I'm really impressed at how well it takes off the mascara though considering how difficult that stuff is to take off.

Eye Shadow -Stila - Stila Kitten Palette Summer 08
dancinxelise 9/29/2008 3:56:00 AM
I really like this palette. I love Stila eyeshadows and this palette is pretty and contains six nice shades. Sun is my favourite followed by prize and wheat although I find prize a bit overly powdery. It gets everywhere. But I still like the colour. Ray looks nice in the pan but not on me however I might see if it works as a crease colour or something. Mystic is nice too but being blue I try to be careful about not going over-the-top with this shade.

Makeup Brushes -Stila - #13 One Step Eyeliner Brush
dancinxelise 9/29/2008 3:47:00 AM
This product is awesome. I'm pretty useless at doing eyeliner but I got the hang of this brush pretty quickly. I use it with creamy liners and also Stila's eyeshadows (when wet) that I want to use as liners. It's quite easy to use (I have the short handle brush if that makes a difference) and can really help to create different looks.

Blush -Stila - Rouge Pot Lotus
dancinxelise 9/29/2008 3:40:00 AM
Personally I prefer powder blushes but for a cream this isn't bad. I have darkish skin but I have to be careful not to apply too much of this product or it looks over-the-top. The colour is buildable so you have to start off with just a small amount and BLEND. I only use this when I'm not wearing powder. It might work with a powder base but I prefer the look on dewier skin for a more natural and fresh look. This is a nice colour; fresh and natural. The pot is impractical. I don't have nails so it doesn't irritate me yet but the opening is quite small and when I reach the end I can imagine that it will be quite annoying.

Eye Shadow -Stila - Eyeshadow
dancinxelise 9/29/2008 3:31:00 AM
I love Stila eyeshadows. The price is a bit high but I think part of that is because there is only one company who sell Stila in Aus so obviously they can hitch the price up and people will pay. But anyways... I have a few of these, palettes and singles and whilst I'm not a fan of every shade in general I love this. My favourite at the moment would have to be my orchid duo becaues I can use the dark colour wet as a liner for different effects. The whole wet-to-dry thing is awesome because it means that the shadows have versatility. Overall I would recommend this product.

Eye Shadow -Stila - Kitten
dancinxelise 9/29/2008 3:27:00 AM
I love Stila eyeshadows however kitten is not one of my faves. It was the first I bought though and the texture and pigment caused me to buy more shadows. I have darkish skin (around NC40) but the colour doesn't really suit me it sorta washes me out or something I can't explain it. But kitten is a best-selling colour so I'm sure it's great on some people. SO whilst the colour isn't one I would repurchase I will definitely buy Stila eyeshadows again.

Eyeliner -Shiseido - Eyeliner Pencil Duo in D1 Moonscape
dancinxelise 9/28/2008 1:56:00 AM
Well it's ok. A bit smudgy and stuff though but works well for a subtle smokey eye. I normally line my eyes with this then smudge it gently into my lash line. I line my inner eye and the inner corner with the white for a brightening effect.

Concealers -Stila - Stick Concealer [DISCONTINUED]
dancinxelise 9/28/2008 12:25:00 AM
I actually really like this stuff. It's not for undereyes though because it does tend to go a little cakey under there however everywhere else I find it works really well. The colour match is perfect for my skin so if I can't be bothered I can use this without foundation and I find it covers everything I want it to really well. I normally use it over foundation (the oil free Stila) though and it works really well. It gets rid of the redness which I want it too and I can apply it throughout the day over powder and it works fine. Is it the best foundation in the world? Probably not. But once I find a colour match for my skin I stick to it ;) Looks a million times better on me than, say, MAC because of the colour.

Foundations -Stila - Natural Finish Oil Free Makeup
dancinxelise 9/28/2008 12:18:00 AM
Omg I love this stuff! I have oily/combination skin. Before this foundation I was using MAC studiofix and I had constant breakouts and really bad skin. I switched to this and literally within a week my skin had cleared up drastically. I got so many comments about it! It's been a couple of months and my skin isn't perfect however I very rarely get breakouts now. I don't find that it makes my skin oily either although I don't think it gives a matte finish. When I want a matte finish I dab a little bit of the hydrating loose powder on top. Anyways I find that this foundation gives pretty good coverage, especially for something so light. It evens out my skin tone so I only need to dab the tiniest amount of my concealer on top. I also love Stila because of the shade range- I normally have loads of problems finding shades to match but Stila matches me perfectly every time =)

Blush -Stila - Clay
dancinxelise 9/7/2008 7:49:00 AM
When I first started using this I must have been putting on wayyy too much because it looked so dark (and I'm about an NC40 so I'm not exactly pale) but now I've gotten better at applying makeup and it looks so much more natural and really nice. It's not my favourite shade, I prefer more pinky/peachy shades but it's not bad for days when I feel like this colour. I love Stila blushes in general so I would definitely buy more just not necessarily this shade.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Cream Eyeshadow
dancinxelise 9/7/2008 7:43:00 AM
I actually bought the black colour, Zardos, as a liner at a NARS event at a makeup store over here. I use a Stila brush (13 I think?) and gently press this around my eyes for a gentle, smudgy effect and it looks really good. It stays on pretty well too but I'm not sure if I'd like it as a shadow. As a liner it's pretty good but I'm sure that there are better gel liners out there. I only bought this because I was at an event and felt I had to buy something. It was expensive ($65 AUD i think =S something ridiculous like that anyway I might as well go buy 3/4s of a dior palette =P) so I wouldn't buy it again I'd rather look for a proper eyeliner. In saying that it's going to last forever I reckon.

Eyeliner -Pop Beauty - Glitter Stix
dancinxelise 9/7/2008 3:08:00 AM
I actually quite like this product. And I wear contact lenses- no problems there. The way I apply the product is I heavily draw it onto my finger then smudge it onto my eyelid. I find it easier to apply this way- no dragging. And the pencil is really thick too, I don't really see it as an eyeliner.

Lip Gloss -Clinique - Full Potential plumping lip gloss
dancinxelise 9/7/2008 3:04:00 AM
I have the gift set that came out at Christmas time- 3 duos luscious/bloomberry, glamourful/mimosa blossom and voluptuous vioet/sugar-full. At first I loved them but now I'm pretty much over it. I still use them sometimes though because they're not terrible, I just have better glosses. The colours are nice (I don't like really sheer glosses) too. In terms of plumping I didn't notice any difference and don't think it does that. They are a little sticky but not as bad as some other glosses I have used in the past. Long wearing? No, not really. And they did fade into "gloompy" lines on the inner rims of my mouth. But not as bad as some other glosses I suppose. Would I buy it again? Probably not. Maybe in another gift set ;) I don't mind them, they're fun colours and look cute on but they are no match for my current fave gloss and I would rather spend my money on every colour of my favourite =)

Blush -Stila - Fall in Love Cheek Duo in Sugarloaf
dancinxelise 9/6/2008 9:58:00 PM
I really like this product. I am a Stila fan and have a few of their blushes. I like the colours of these, something different that I don't already have. I normally swirl them together. One thing that I was very unimpressed with is that the colours fell out of the compact- BOTH of them, and started crumbling. I managed to put most of them back in but now I can't take that compact anywhere because I worry that it will happen again. But I would buy it again and would recommend it to other people however I don't think that the shades are for everyone.

Blush -MAC - Sheertone Shimmer - Springsheen
dancinxelise 9/6/2008 9:48:00 PM
I really like this blush =) First off I normally buy Stila blushes (which I still love) but this has the advantage of being cheaper and bigger. In terms of colour I love it. I have tanned skin (around NC40) and it works well on me, you can definitely see it but it looks quite natural and nice. My younger sister has skin a few shades paler than me and it works well on her too. So the colour is nice, it's easy to apply, the package is big enough so that it's no problem getting the blush out and overall it's a good product. I'm not really a MAC fan (because of the counter girls more than the actual products) but I wouldn't mind getting a few more of these.
