Liquid -Lancome - Teint Miracle
danapop 6/5/2011 4:25:00 AM
Nice foundation, it looks natural and it doesn't become cakey during the day. Medium coverage and pretty moisturizing. The lightest shade a bit dark for me during the winter, in june it looks pretty perfect. I don't think I have ever been so satisfied with another foundation. I've been using it for 5 -6 months and I'll continue doing that.

Crème -Chanel - Teint Innocence Cream to Powder Compact Foundation
danapop 6/5/2011 4:20:00 AM
I have been trying several of Chanel's foundations and unfortunatelly I haven't found a foundation light enough for me. I used this powder/ cream foundation for some months. Yucky, greasy feeling. It looks patchy after some hours. Not good enough coverage and mask-like appearance (of course, the fact that it's not a good colour match doesn't help). I gave it to my mom and promised to myself to stop buying Chanel foundations. Expensive and not much quality. I have to admit that I was buying it for the 'name', but I have to learn to be wiser.

Masks -Clinique - Turnaround Instant Facial
danapop 6/5/2011 4:13:00 AM
I've been using this mask for a year and I was satisfied with it (it made my skin drier and I had significantly less clogged pores). It seems that I can't use it any more since it irritates my skin terribly. I don't have sensitive skin (or I didn't have until some months ago), but I got some red, very sensitive areas. I've noticed that my face looks more red and hurts after I use the mask., so I assume that it is because of it.

Eyeliner -Unlisted Brand - Farmec - Ada eye pencil
danapop 5/27/2009 12:51:00 PM
This eyeliner is a proof that sometimes not what's the most expensive is the best (and viceversa). This is actually the best eyeliner I have ever used. It is VERY cheap (but the size is also half of a normal eyeliner). It has a quite good lasting powder, I can use it for my waterline and it stays put (with monor smudging compared to other liners that cost tens of times more).

Fragrances -Chanel - Allure for women
danapop 5/27/2009 12:24:00 PM
My favourite perfume! A really lady's perfume, it becomes a light and fresh on me after some hours (it actually changes totally - that's so weird, I actually thought that it was somebody else's perfume, but I realized that it was my Allure). The lasting power is ok, but I wish it lasted longer - I don't generally find the Chanel perfumes very long lasting - at least on me.

Eye Shadow -Clinique - Colour Surge Duo in Sunburst
danapop 5/27/2009 12:14:00 PM
Such a beautiful duo! Both colours are wonderful and the staying powder is great (I am actually surprised that the quality of these shadows is better than Chanel's or Dior's - and there is a bit of a price difference). I have also got 6 piece e/s set in the Christmas gift and I experience the same quality with all the shadows. Colour Surge Duo in Sunburst are my favourite shadows at the moment (used with black liner) - the peach and the goleden champagne work wonders with my brown eyes - they look great without screaming *I wear makeup*!

Eyeliner -Chanel - Stylo Yeux Waterproof Ebene
danapop 5/27/2009 11:54:00 AM
As other reviewers noticed, The Stylo Yeux Waterproof is not really waterproof. I use it on the lower lid (I use liquid eyeliner on my upper lid) and sometimes it smudges, sometimes it's smudges less. The racoon eyes are not that scary (as they are for example when I use Locome's kohl). It last better on the upper lid. I tend to believe that is a bit better than other liners I used, but not good enough to justify my faithfulness to it. There must be something better (and maybe cheaper) out there!

Lipstick -Estee Lauder - Pure Color Crystal Lipstick in Crystal Coral
danapop 5/27/2009 11:47:00 AM
I've been looking for a perfect coral lipstick/lipgloss for a while, and after my fiasco with Guerlain's Coral Pearl lipgloss I decided to go for a lipstick. And I don't regret it. Lively and yet natural coral - I look awake without looking made-up. Good lasting power, nice smell. I love using it with Clinique's Sunburst duo shadow. I would buy it, but I don't think that it would be the case, as I already got YSL's Golden Melon Pure Lipstick - a bit more vivid golden coral.

Polishes -Chanel - Le Vernis Nail Colour in Sahara Beige
danapop 5/27/2009 11:40:00 AM
A very nive polish - professional looking beige nails (except for the sparkle that bugs me and tends to remain on the nails even after the nail polished is removed). Decent staying power as well. It didn't dries very fast in the bottle either, so that's a big plus. I'll buy again (preferably if they lose the shiny particles).

Eye Shadow -Christian Dior - 5 Colour Eyeshadow - Incognito 030
danapop 5/27/2009 11:24:00 AM
I'm sorry, but I don't see the quality in this product. I have been using it for lonnger than 1 year (together with my huge collection of eyeshadows - I'm such a makeup junkie that sometimes I think I need professional help - I looove makeup, especially trying new products). I tried to love all Diors quints, but now I decided to give most of them away... When it comes to Incognito: the pigment is kind of...missing, the texture is quite dusty, the lasting power - without a primer the shadoes disappeared very fast from my oliy lids. Boring colours, almost invisible - and I'm so fair that ANY makeup is normally visible on my face. I've been using mainly the darker brown + the ivory as a highligher (in combination with the brown shadow from Night dust). Barely touched the middle - pink one - I've been unsuccessfuly trying to work out several combinations of shades.

Concealers -Yves Saint Laurent - Touche Eclat No 2
danapop 5/27/2009 11:11:00 AM
I'm so not sure if this highlighter does something for me. I don't have dark circles (most of the time) so it's difficult to see any improvement there. It sets a little bit into the fine wrinkles around the eyes, but much less than other products (highlighters or concelears). I'm just used to use some product under my eye - concealer or something similar and I found that this is the only one that doesn't make things worse than they are (I used some Laura Mercer Secret Camouflage Concealer, but it just dried out terribly my under-eye area).

Eyeliner -Lancome - Artliner
danapop 5/27/2009 10:58:00 AM
It's identical to L'Oreal's Lineur Intense, so no need to pay triple the price. I've been using liquid eyeliners (for every day makeup) for longer than 10 years - this one is pretty ok, but not perfect - and definetely not "the one". I don't find the applicator very *user friendly*. Oh, yes, ans it flakes as no other I've used before... Why is it so expensive then?! Well, I think I'll return to the cheap Nivea or Rimmel liners for a while - just to have it verified that the expensive products I've been using the last years are worth the price. :-) Or not.

Lip Gloss -Guerlain - Kiss Kiss Gloss
danapop 5/27/2009 10:13:00 AM
I've bought Coral Pearl 846. What a joke! More expensive than Chanel, bulcky and old-fashioned packaging no pigment, just some sparkles, sickning taste and fragrance (and I am normally not picky about that) - a simply clear sticky gloss at an outrageous price. After several disappointing experience with their lipsticks and lipglosses, I'm not going to buy lippy products from them.

Eye Shadow -Chanel - Les 4 Ombre Quadra Eye Shadow 81 Beige Velours
danapop 5/27/2009 10:00:00 AM
This was my first Chanel quad as well. And I have been as well disappointed - poor pigmentation, poor lasting power, nothing special about the colour, the apricot one is dry and unusable. I still have the shadows because I like the taupe and the dark brown-purple and I use it when I want a neutral makeup. My second quad from Chanel (that was a gift) was also a dissapointment (MUCH chaper brands have MUCH better shadows than these quads). I don't intend to buy again. Beige Velours or other Chanel quads. Unless they come up with some amazing colours (at least) to (partially) justify the price.

Lip Gloss -Chanel - Twinkle Glossimer
danapop 5/27/2009 9:54:00 AM
I ove this gloss! Obviously it is not the perfect colour for everybody (I have a couple of expensive glosses that I bought because of the very good reviews here and that were terribly bad for me in terms of colour). I think it's a very fresh, polished lipgloss for fair skinned laidies. Not a colour I've found in cheaper breands. It has pigment and decent lasting power (for a gloss and compared with others).
