Mascara -E.L.F. - Wet Gloss Lash and Brow Clear Mascara
dakota2010 5/7/2013 10:10:00 PM
This is such a cheap product, but does really well on taming my newly tinted brows. I was going to get the Maybelline Great Lash in Clear, but decided to try this and am glad I did! And it was only $1, compared to $6 for the Maybelline.
BB Cream -L'Oreal - Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream

I purchased this in Light and while it did cover a purplish scar on my chin, the rest of my face turned orange :( Love the coverage, but hate the color..
Hair Styling Tools -Unlisted Brand - The "Wet" Brush
dakota2010 4/30/2013 6:01:00 PM
Yesterday, April 29, 2013 will be the last official day I will ever use a normal hair brush. I have fallen in love with the "Wet" brush! My hair is straight as can be (never holds a curl, even with half a can of hairspray), color-treated damaged blonde, and has tangled ever since I was little. I remember my Grandma using detangling spray on it and not helping at all. I bought the smaller pink one and used it for the first time today. Straight out of the shower, towel-wrapped until I was done dressing, and I was like "Ok, let's do this". The first words out of my mouth were "Impossible, there's no way, I'm dreaming". It literally went through my hair so easily and effortlessly. I did have one small section I had to go over 2x, but still I am absolutely amazed! For something that looks so innocent and plain, it is the best hair brush I think I will ever find!
I got daring and dyed my platinum white bleach blonde hair black. After a couple months when I started modeling full-time, my agent wanted me back to light pale blonde to match extensions he had bought me in the shortest amount of time possible. This is the only product that worked! I hurried up the process by trying to complete it in one month, and it did fry my hair, so I do not recommend going quickly. However, if I would have waited in between colorings, I don't think I would have ruined my hair as badly; so yes, I do take the blame for that. My hair did go through the stages from black to orange (1st use), orange to almost neon yellow (2nd use), and yellow to platinum (3rd use). I did it a 4th time just to make sure the color was even throughout my hair. My agent was amazed and everything worked out in the end...except I had to deep condition like crazy! But hey, it got me jobs and that's all that matters :)
Shades I am reviewing: Pink Holo and Green Holo. Holy holo!! Wow I am super amazed at these 2 polishes! They last a good amount of time (3-4 days without tip wear) and dry fairly quickly. One coat is good enough for the holo effect, but 2 coats really bring it out! Removal is a breeze. One swipe and the polish is almost completely off. However, at $10 each, they are a bit expensive, but they do last and are a good investment if you like the holo effect. They are very comparable to the GOSH Holographic that I own.
I only just discovered the uses for rubbing alcohol...late I know! From the boards, I found out how to remove Sharpie drawings from my hand, repress broken shadows/powder cosmetics, and it dries up pimples! What more could you ask for?! :)
Lip Treatments -Fresh - Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15
dakota2010 2/22/2013 3:51:00 PM
To me, everything about this lip treatment screams that it is an expensive dupe of the eos Lemon Drop lip balm. This one is about $22.50 and the eos is about $3.99. The scent, the way it feels on my lips, everything (except the taste; this is waxy, eos tastes a bit citrus-y) is exactly the same. I am glad I didn't pay for this (thank you Sephora for the birthday present last year!). I will be sticking with my eos for life :)
Lotions/ Creams -Jurlique - Rose/Lavender Hand Cream
dakota2010 2/7/2013 6:47:00 PM
I have found the best rose scented hand cream, although it is a little greasy for me...maybe it's just my weird skin! I am going through a rose faze right now; even 2 months ago I hated the smell. Oh man! I cannot stop smelling my hands! I was lucky enough to swap for this, but it is soo expensive...that's too bad because I love it!
Gels/Soaps -Softsoap - SoftSoap Naturals Milk&Honey hand soap
dakota2010 1/30/2013 12:27:00 AM
I went to Las Vegas, NV in November to work a convention and I forgot my foaming hand soap at home. I knew the air was going to be dry and cold (like my Grandma's house in Denver, CO gets). I went to the CVS down the street from my hotel and found this on sale for less than $1. The skin on my hands get really chapped and cracked during winter months (hence why I use foam soaps), but this was a lifesaver! It did not burn my hands, it has a pleasant smell that seems to last on me, and it was cheap. Good size for the price and a definite re-purchase! The only thing I didn't like was trying to transport it home when I went back to CA. The pump makes it difficult to travel with, so I put it in a ziploc bag. Thank goodness I did, because it leaked through the top and went everywhere. I wish the pump locked like the B&BW foam soaps. Overall, I am very pleased :)
I received this in a swap (I have never seen it in the stores or heard of it), but I suffer from migraines...the kind that floor me for about 2 days :( I literally just used this the moment I felt a migraine coming on, and it has been about 15 minutes or so, and I am feeling better. I rubbed it on my temples and the back of my neck. I don't know if it will work for everyone who suffers from these darn things, but I can honestly say it did for me. I hope I can find the Sleep Balm too...that sounds like a good product from the reviews here for sleepless nights!
Lipstick -Clinique - Different Lipstick - Raspberry Glace
dakota2010 1/22/2013 4:40:00 PM
I was always on the hunt for this lipstick shade, but didn't want to spend the money on it in case I didn't like it. So, I came here and arranged a swap for a mini version that is attached to a lip gloss in the shade Fireberry. The duo arrived just in time for a Christmas party I attended. It matched my dress perfectly (which was a plus) and I only had to reapply 2x throughout the night. I love the small size I received, but I don't know if I will repurchase. It has become a favorite deep shade (and I don't normally wear them; I tend to stick with the lighter side of things), and I think this will last me a long time.
Lips -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter in Sugar Plum
dakota2010 1/22/2013 4:29:00 PM
Don't let the darkness of the shade in the tube fool you! It applies sheerer than I expected and has quickly become my favorite of the entire line. Would definitely repurchase and the packaging is sophisticated and "rich" looking. Overall, awesome!
Skincare - Body -Unlisted Brand - Mederma - Skin Care for Scars
dakota2010 12/24/2012 10:15:00 PM
I have been trying all kinds of scar reducing products for the past 6 months. When I finally got the courage/money to purchase Mederma, I had high hopes. After 2 tubes (figured I would give it a chance, unlike the others I used until the tube ran out and would then buy something different), there has been no improvement. My scars are actually pink-brown now and that is far from the claim that they will "lighten" them..they really show up in the sun and artificial light even worse now.. Now my skin is starting to have a reaction to Mederma by peeling at the area I apply it at. This sucks :(
Lip Gloss -Unlisted Brand - Skylark Cosmetics - Ava & Sophia
dakota2010 11/30/2012 10:28:00 PM
This was a promo gift I received after ordering the debut novel "Beneath The Glitter" by YouTube beauty gurus Elle and Blair Fowler. The lip glosses are sold on blush.com and retail for $29.95 for the set of 2. Now for my review: I like the shades Elle and Blair chose for their debut glosses. Ava (a light pink color) and Sophia (a berry color) are slightly sticky for my taste, but provide good opaque coverage. The bird on top of the lid shows the color of the gloss which makes it easier when I want to grab a gloss from my holder without having to pull out each one to find what I want. The price is also a bit much and being available only online can be a pain. Overall, I am on the mend if I would re-purchase. Maybe if they went on sale...
I love every color in this line! However, on me, the polish does not dry :( I polished using "Winter Wonderland" and even an hour later, it still smudges when I went to write a shopping list. I used a fast dry top coat, submerged them in icy water, and nothing helps..that is why I took off a lippie... However, a kind MUA responded to my post stating that Kleancolor's do not dry on some people...very strange..it's lame that I must be one of those unlucky few..
