Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Clump Crusher mascara

This formula doesnt build lashes at all, its just reallly thin. doesnt do anything. maybe its good for a teen that wants a very natural subtle look. In general I dont like plastic wands. i threw this away, I couldnt even make it work with a lash primer.

Mascara -Maybelline - The Rocket Volume Express
dakgirl 5/6/2013 1:36:00 PM
The Rocket fizzled. No thickening, no lengthening, too much work to build lashes and it dissolved and smudged with the slightest tear. I miss the XXL line of mascaras as they were great! In general I dont like plastic brushes maybelline covergirl or otherwise.

Lip Gloss -FLOWER Beauty - Lip Service Lip Butter in LB7 Sheer Snapdragon
dakgirl 4/25/2013 1:22:00 PM
As someone commented about the long white sticker on their product containing the color number, once removed to open the product the info is now gone. I suspect they are still getting the kinks out of the line because some of these lip butters had no color sticker on the bottom and only one shade did. I bought LB 4, 5, 6 and 7. They all look great, they feel more substantial than the usual lip butters. The colors are sheer, not too sheer that they look like vaseline but good color that you can see through. I'm surprised Drew put this in Walmart and not Target. Target is a step up from Walmart (imo) and the lighting is way better. I had the hardest time seeing the colors through the packaging because Walmart is a giant warehouse with fluorescent tube lights waaay up high on the ceiling. Sure I can see that the jumbo box if diapers has 150 in it, but its horrible for looking at colors. Also there are no testers and shoppers opened nearly every lipstick and appear to have dug their nails into them. these lip butters were the only thing left in addition to lipgloss. All the lipsticks were sold out. Walmart is just not a good place to buy makeup.

Concealers -FLOWER Beauty - Secret Service Cover Up Concealer
dakgirl 4/25/2013 12:54:00 PM
I bought shade 2. The tube is sort of smoked-clear plastic which gave me the impression that it was pinker like BB Bisque as did the photo on the display, but once opened it was very pale with a faint pink. Waaaay too pale for me, gave me reverse racoon eyes. Coverage was very sheer and ineffective. I returned it.

Powder -FLOWER Beauty - Powder Foundation PP2
dakgirl 4/25/2013 12:45:00 PM
For reference I wear Bobbi Porcelain, LM Porcelain Ivory, Stila 10watts/shade A. I use Bobbi Lt bisque on my blue circles and Maybelline Age Rewind Brightener on the (2 yrs post baby) melasma across the tops of my cheeks. I tried this over the rest of my face and it was very natural and even looking! Not heavy or cakey like some powder foundations can be. That said, if you like Studio Fix this won't give you that level of coverage. PP2 was a perfect match for my yellow-white skin. I'd definitely recommend this AND it didn't settle into my (ahem) "lines".

Fragrances -Clarins - Eau Dynamisante
dakgirl 1/14/2012 12:40:00 AM
Before there was Origins, Aveda and other natural skincare lines, there was Clarins. Before aromatherapy became mainstream there was Clarins. Before botanicals were the big thing, Clarins was using them and before CK One was unisex there was Eau Dynamisante. Fresh, crisp, herbal, citrusy and invigorating, its the smell of summer for me. My husband always uses my bottle in the summer and it smells different on each of us. This is a classic I don't smell on every other person walking by, which is another reason I like it.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Benetint
dakgirl 7/30/2011 7:58:00 PM
Pros: Gives a lovely English-rose blush on the cheeks. You'll have the bottle a very long time before it runs out. Stained my lips nicely (I swipe it on and before it can settle into the lines I lightly press my lips together, let it dry a minute and repeat, then top with gloss, balm or vaseline.) Cons: I hate the nailpolish type brush, I much prefer the doe foot applicator of Posie tint and I think it would ensure a better application and resolve complaints of how this applies to lips. I don't like the glass bottle which is why I prefer to buy the minis from sephora or ebay. If only I could find a mini of Cha Cha tint to try. Overall this is a good product once you get the hang of the application. I think this would be good for "sleepovers" so as not to awaken cadaverously pale as I usually do. For reference I'm BB Porcelain, LM Porcelain Ivory. I like this and Posie tint. Benetint looks more natural on my cheeks but Posie applies on my lips more easily. Hope you find this review helpful.

Skincare - Body -Unlisted Brand - Mr. Pumice - Pumi Bar
dakgirl 7/15/2011 4:42:00 PM
I bought the purple Pumi Bar based on the reviews and also bought the Blue Cross cuticle remover another reviewer below mentioned. They worked beautifully! I then applied L'Occitane's Shea Butter Hand Cream to my feet and went to bed. Viola! Soft feet! By using cheapie finds like the Pumi Bar I can justify the expensive hand cream! Lol!

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Posietint

I'm very pale and was about to have a baby. Knowing there would be a lot of picture taking in the hospital I wanted something quick that would give me a bit of color and do double duty. (Yes, I know, I'm vain, but I have to look at those pics for the rest of my life and so will my daughter). I bought a mini on ebay and stashed it in my overnight bag along with a Lancome Effacernes and a tiny tube of vaseline. That was all the makeup I took. A bit of concealer under my eyes and on my melasma, Posie on my cheeks and lips and a touch of vaseline on my lips for moisture. Perfect. Posie is a pretty cross between coral pink and bubblegum pink, sort of a warm version of Pepto Bismol. Despite that odd description it was great! A glow on my cheeks and a tint on my lips that didn't transfer onto my baby when I kissed her (which I did a lot!) I could see this as a bride lip color with a nice gloss on top. I now have this in my car for when I need a touch of color. Its quick, looks great, and lasts so you can get on to more important things! It also looks nice with Nivea's Touch Of Red Lip Balm in the tube on top.

Lip Gloss -Bobbi Brown - Brown gloss
dakgirl 1/23/2011 9:18:00 PM
As my other reviews of Bobbi's glosses indicate, I'm a PPP with pale lips. This looks like a beautiful soft mauve cream on my lips. Very, very nice. Its a slightly warm mauve, not grey toned as the name mauve might imply. Just lovely.

Lip Gloss -Bobbi Brown - Buff gloss
dakgirl 1/23/2011 9:09:00 PM
I'm a PPP with pale lips. This gloss and Rose Sugar too, for that matter, both come up as clear on me. Not enough color payoff to justify $18 for such a tiny amount. The price per weight makes Chanel Glossimer look like a bargain. That said, I LOVE the formula of the gloss, super moisturizing and shiny. Many complain about the stickiness but honestly, as a longtime lipgloss user of every brand out there, sticky=long lasting. That's just how it is. My favorite color is Petal which was recently changed from a sheer coral pink to a muddy beige. Why mess with a winner, Bobbi?
