Candles -Yankee Candles - island spa

Fresh, lemon beachy scent. This a candle I like to burn when I am working. The scent is not overpowering, and can smell a bit like lemon floor cleaner at times. Overall I find to be relaxing and refreshing. Like all YC I find this one to be of great quality in the small jar format, and have had not problem with uneven burning or tunneling.

Bath Treatments -LUSH - Butterball Bath Bomb
daffydill 1/8/2012 8:25:00 AM
HG LUSH PRODUCT!!! Lovely creamy scent. Cocoa butter chips melt to give you an ultra softening bath. One of their cheaper ballistics and by far my favourite. Warning do not shave your legs while in the bath with this one, I found it clogged my razor. A must buy if you like vanilla and cocoa butter!

Not for me. Sweet berry scent, very young girl scent in my opinion. Great value for money though if sweet berry is your thing, lots of bath bubbles and lovely pink water. A pass for me!

Love this! Can really feel it working. Soft vanilla smell. Packaging is so cute, slimline great for travel and popping in your bag on the go. Left lips moisturised and has SPF, worth the extra pennies than your standard Nivea/ Chapstick balm.

Lip Gloss -Rimmel - Stay Glossy - all
daffydill 1/8/2012 8:15:00 AM
I have this in Endless Night. Great neutral-brown shade which gives a nice sheen to the lips with no nasty glitter. Scent is nice, doesn't taste funny, wand makes application really easy. Only wears for a couple of hours and does seem pricier compared to other Rimmel glosses, but I will be repurchasing.

HG everyday lotion. Light, subtle floral-creamy scent, that doesn't interfere with perfume. Moisturises well with no stickiness, greasiness or residue and at £2.03 is the BARGAIN OF THE CENTURY. If you're in the UK you need to try this!

Fragrances -Dolce & Gabbana - The One

Not a bottle to carry around, it's a lead weight. Invest in a purse spray/ Travalo. I smell not one of those fruity notes, the jasmine is weak for my liking, and the lack of spice and exotic feel to this fragrance would put in a floral vanilla musk category. What I seem to be smelling on my skin is white flowers, and all of those base notes, yes they are true to their word. It does develop, but I get no top notes (unless they are solely alcohol based), the middle notes for an hour, two at most, before the base kicks in. The vanilla musk, is certainly strong and sticks around. I don't love it, neither do I hate it, it's merely an oh that's quite nice reaction. The fragrance does have excellent longevity on my skin, probably eight hours, and I would describe the projection as moderate. I would like to point out longevity and the perception of the fragrance is a personal one, and is very much dependent on body fragrance. D&G call this a fragrance with character I expected a big Glamazon Giselle type fragrance that would really turn heads. I would say this is for a much more quiet and reserved character, more like Leona Lewis before she got a fringe. I do think this is such a shame Dolce and Gabbana can produce some stunning perfumes with oodles of character the discontinued By, Dolce Gabanna and Light Blue have all got the character and have the head-turning reaction when you wear them. When and who should wear this? With all that vanilla-musk this is a definite autumn-winter affair, and could probably do office, casual and night perfectly well. Age wise, I'm in my 20s and I find this powdery, so I would say 30 plus, but if you are young and like powdery, but don't want to smell like a baby, this one would be a nice, inoffensive choice.

Fragrances -Marc Jacobs - Daisy

Has grown on me. Bottle is beautiful, although that shouldn't be your reason for buying it. Young, fresh, green scent. Longevity is fairly short lived and doesn't project far. Good for a young person during spring/summer days at school or in an office.

Primer/ Corrector -BeneFit Cosmetics - Dr Feelgood

Skin felt noticeably silker, good for softer skin on the go with minimal make up retouches. No visible difference to my skin, the wax discoloured and is hard to pick up on the sponge. May suit oilier skin types?

Fragrances -Soap and Glory - Mist You Madly

Sweet, floral, girly, spray that has the lasting powers of some of my more insipid EDTs. Smells like sweet, musky flowers and my favourite of the Soap and Glory scents!

Skincare - Body -LUSH - Therapy massage bar
daffydill 1/8/2012 8:01:00 AM
The bar is shaped like an oval soap, it's not particularly slippy, so is easier to pick up. I use just after a shower when still slightly damp, and the skin is a little warmer. I literally hold the bar in one hand and directly rub it onto the skin, concentrating on my limbs first, before my middle and back. The cocoa butters and shea butters in the bar melt easily, and if your skin is damp there is virtually no resistance. I have tried using this during the day, and you have to warm the bar up more to prevent resistance, and give an effortless glide. Your skin does feel moisturised after use, with no stickiness, but I found the product to be quite greasy when left on the skin for up to an hour afterwards before it was all absorbed into the skin. I nearly came to blows with greasiness of this product, as I stuck on a pair of cheap harem pants after applying to my stomach, before I realised the waist of the harems was left with a big greasy mark. This mark didn't move much with plain tap water, and it stuck around the whole day, but did come out easily in the wash. After this experience I would recommend using the massage bar before bed, and certainly not before wearing your best dry clean only outfits. Well the base of the fragrance is shea and cocoa butter, and the cocoa butter definitely comes through. There is also some energising citrus oils, along with the relaxing essential oils of neroli and lavender. The overall effect is a herbal chocolate orange smell, I actually think it is quite festive. I personally find the smell overpowering, and it does interfere with perfume, which is something I am not keen on. Although if you wanted to wear a scent alone this would be nice. A word of warning, the first time applied this was after my shower right before going to bed, and the smell was so cloying and overpowering I couldn't sleep, so go easy until you get used to it. I was particularly surprised by this as the sales assistant recommended this one for its light fragrance. Particularly as the scent lasts four hours plus on my skin. I have been wearing this in spring/ summer, and I find it too heavy at the moment, and think the scent would be more suited around autumn/ winter.

Lotions/ Creams -Soap and Glory - The Daily Smooth body butter

Packaging difficult to use as a thick lotion. Left me with a sticky residue after use, and smelt of PLASTIC MELONS!!!! Not a patch on The Righteous Butter.

Fragrances -Soap and Glory - Girligo Body Moisturizing Mist
daffydill 1/8/2012 7:56:00 AM
I personally find the notes quite hard to distinguish, particularly when compared to the Mist You Madly spray. However for me the peach and strawberry definitely stand out, I can also detect that there is something other than just fruit which may be a combination of the jasmine and/ or the musk, but I can't identify whether that is due to the jasmine, the musk or both. Soap and Glory give the impression with giving top, heart and base notes, that the scent develops over time, which it does slightly, becoming less of the strawberry and peach, but by the time this is noticeable the whole scent has just faded into a fruity-floral musk. The scent doesn't last as long as the other spray, Mist you Madly on my skin, I would say the scent is no longer noticeable after 45 minutes to an hour. Neither do I feel like this spray projects as well as Mist You Madly. The main reason I love this product is the convenience, a quick spray and rub in, means I can top up on my moisturiser throughout the day. In fact I normally keep this in a gym/ swim bag, so I can quickly rehydrate my skin after exercise. The product makes moisturising, quick, easy and relatively mess free. When spraying the product onto the skin it has a similar colour and consistency to milk. It is thin and is easily absorbed into the skin. The skin on my limbs does feel softer, however it is nowhere near as moisturising as a body lotion or body butter, so I prefer to use this to top - up, rather than my main moisturising product. If i was to use this as my main moisturiser, I would probably want to top up every three to four hours to keep my skin soft and supple. I have currently used a third of my bottle, I have been using it on my limbs once to twice a week, over the past six weeks. Compared to my bottle of Mist You Madly, I did find I needed a lot more product per application, so for me as just a spray, this isn't as economical.

Mascara -Lancome - Hypnose
daffydill 1/8/2012 7:55:00 AM
The formula is not too thin or gloopy, and glides through lashes, one coat gives a natural look eyelashes appear blacker and thicker, drying time is about average with virtually no of clumping. A second coat seems to thicken lashes further, adding length and the hypnose effect. So what alluring effect does this give? Don't ask me how, no other mascara has ever done this, and no I don't curl my lashes, it truly fans the lashes, to give an almost feline look. This clever illusion makes eyes appear wider, drawing others in, hypnotic as Lancome may say. This is why I prefer to reserve this as a special mascara, rather than everyday. The mascara wears well at about 8 hours, and is easily removed with normal eye make-up removers. There is no flaking, I have a big problem with this, as I rub my eyes all the time, and find very few mascaras that suit. As far as the water resistance of this mascara, this isn't a waterproof version but does hold up in the rain well. The main difference noted was a little bit of smudging, but the feline shape of my lashes and their overall black appearance remained.
