Sunscreen -MISSHA - All Around Safe Block Essence Sun SPF 45/PA+++
cuteepie 11/8/2012 6:51:00 AM
Gosh, this stuff definitely deserves more attention. Holy grail sunscreen. Can't recommend it enough. 1) This sunscreen is ever so LIGHTWEIGHT! It feels as if one is wearing almost nothing on the skin. Absolutely no greasiness, no shine, no stickiness, no nothing. It is oil-free. 2) The rating is SPF 45/PA+++, so it provides broad-spectrum protection. The active ingredients are: ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate (octyl methoxycinnamate), ethylhexyl salicylate (octyl salicylate) phenylbenzimidazole sulfonic acid, diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate, (Uvinal A Plus), bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine. I also researched the individual active ingredients before I purchased to make sure it provided sufficient UVA protection as well as UVB. 3) This is a hydrating formula. I can definitely feel how hydrated it makes my skin. 4) No white cast at all. Dries completely clear. 5) It is SUCH good value! I bought it for AUD 18 for 50 mL. This is an absolute steal compared to high end sunscreens - AND this is so much better!!! 6) There are some quite interesting natural ingredients in this product, i.e natural plant extracts. If you refer to the ingredients list above, the second half of the list contains these extracts (although being in the second half one wonders whether they are present in a high enough concentration to be effective?)

Treatments -Jan Marini - Transformation Cream
cuteepie 8/20/2009 10:14:00 AM
This stuff is amazing.
No matter WHAT the state of my skin - dry, rough or flaky - as soon as I use the Jan Marini Bioglycolic Cleanser (left on the skin for a few minutes before washing off, to let the chemical exfoliant do its work) and then finish off with Transformation Cream, my skin will always feel amazing!
The wonderful thing about this cream is that it shows the difference between water and moisture in the skin, and oil. Most moisturisers seem to add oil without adding moisture at all - but Transformation Cream makes your skin feel so moisturised without a smidgen of oiliness at all. Your skin will just feel smooth and soft and lovely!
This is HG stuff. The HG of all HGs moisturisers. I have to note, though, that I don't use it for any of its claimed anti-aging properties - I use it simply as a moisturiser, but even just as a moisturiser it is beyond compare to anything else out there.

Blush -Bobbi Brown - Pink Raspberry Pot Rouge ] [DISCONTINUED]
cuteepie 8/27/2008 7:58:00 AM
Oh my god, LOVE this.
This is just a pretty, pretty colour, plain and simple. It's so feminine and so girlish. As another reviewer said below, it's the colour that your cheeks would (metaphorically) be if you were in love!
I have yellow-toned Asian skin and ash-toned chocolate brown hair, and this suits me wonderfully.
This also looks great on my lips with a lip balm underneath. It somehow makes my lips look so full and luscious! The texture of the product is also so lovely on lips - soooo much better than lip gloss, which sucks for kissing the boy and for getting hair stuck in it, and much more dewy and natural-looking than lipstick.

Cleansers -Jan Marini - Bioglycolic Facial Cleanser
cuteepie 8/26/2008 1:30:00 PM
AMAZING product. This cleanser leaves me with baby-smooth skin. I have definitely noticed greatly improved texture and clarity in my skin since using this.
I sometimes have dry or rough patches on my face by the end of the day (due to lack of sleep; dry, cold or windy conditions in winter, etc). As soon as I have used this on my face (together with the Jan Marini transformation cream), dry patches are immediately gone! I no longer need to apply a chemical exfoliant and wait for it to ever-so-slowly do its work, as this cleanser works instantaneously!
Apply on DRY skin and leave product on skin to work its magic for a minute or two, then rinse off. I follow with Bioglycolic Lotion and Transformation Cream. This routine has given me the BEST skin I've ever had!

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Concealer Kit
cuteepie 2/17/2008 6:58:00 AM
I really like this concealer. It definitely provides very good coverage if you apply the right amount and properly.
Many reviewers here seem to complain that it doesn't spread well and requires too much dragging of the skin under the eye. As Bobbi herself always insists, you MUST use an eye cream under the eyes for this concealer to work at its best. That way, you have a primed, moist base on which to apply and the concealer will go on smoothly.
To apply, I use eye cream first (and Bobbi also recommends not letting it sink in *too* much before applying, so that you still have the moist surface to apply the concealer on); then apply to the under-eye area using the BB concealer brush, making sure I get the inside corner of the eye and going right up to the lower lashes. Then I use my finger to pat and blend the concealer in. Finally I use the BB eye blender brush, dip it in the powder, shake off the excess, and lightly dust over the concealed area on my skin, to set.
I love the packaging idea of having the powder in the same pot. Comes in very handy and works perfectly to set the concealer.
The shades are, as always with Bobbi Brown, fantastic. Very natural and beautiful yellow-based shades that work well with everyone but are especially great for Asian skins.

Skincare - Face -Jan Marini - Antioxidant daily face protectant SPF 30
cuteepie 1/14/2008 9:08:00 PM
This is a FANTASTIC product and is hands-down the best sunscreen I have ever used. This sunscreen is lightly and elegantly textured, is totally and utterly non-greasy, absorbs completely into the skin, leaves not a trace of a white cast, contains antioxidants and moisturisers, and smells wonderful. Every single other sunscreen I have used feels heavy and/or greasy on the skin, no matter what they claim. and you can always feel them on your skin, no matter what. Either that, or they are too drying (e.g. Shiseido). Well, not this stuff. You will not even notice that you are wearing this at all, it really is that light. What's more, not only is this stuff not greasy, but it contains advanced technology that actually absorbs excess oils throughout the day. Thank you Jan Marini, this product is HEAVEN SENT! I'd rate it 6 lippies if I could!

Lipstick -Bobbi Brown - lip colors
cuteepie 10/12/2007 4:30:00 AM
These lip sticks are so expensive, and not that great. They're way too drying, and after a little while on my lips, they're flaky!
Bobbi advises using lip gloss over her lip sticks, but I just don't like having that much stuff on my lips. I am usually a huge Bobbi Brown fan, too, so I'm very disappointed by these.

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Body Butter - Brazil Nut
cuteepie 10/12/2007 4:26:00 AM
This body butter smells heavenly, and is just the right consistency for my dryish skin.
It doesn't completely absorb, which may be a downside for some people - but for me, I completely like that because I like my skin to have some "sheen" to it afer moisturising. This body butter makes your skin look lovely and a little glowy.

Shampoo -Redken - All Soft Shampoo
cuteepie 10/12/2007 4:20:00 AM
This is a fantastic shampoo. I have hair that has been coloured many times and this stuff leaves it smooth and silky. I started using Tresemme for a while and thought that did the job, but then came back to the All Soft range and realised how good it really is.

Contents:
Ski Slopes blush
Tan eye shadow
Sandwash Beige lip color
Sandwash Pink lip gloss
Black Everything mascara
Large 6-pan palette with mirror, to fit Bobbi Brown blushes or eye shadows
Instruction card featuring step by step instructions on how to achieve the Style File look
A$190.00 (valued at A$280)
I LOVE this Style File! The colours are muted, dusty and warm - so beautiful for Autumn. Used all together, these colours create a rosy pink, very feminine and romantic look.
I especially like the tan eye shadow as a lid colour, because it matches my yellow-toned Asian skin perfectly and gives my eyes depth and shadow without looking as if I'm even wearing eye shadow!
The sandwash beige lip color is absolutely beautiful - it's very natural but very feminine. It is a cross between the sandwash pink and beige lip colours. I use it with Bobbi Brown nude pink creamy lip liner, which is a perfect colour match.
All in all, this is a beautiful combination of colours which I'm sure I'll be wearing a lot in the coming Autumn!

Cleansers -Bobbi Brown - Rich Cream Cleanser [DISCONTINUED]
cuteepie 3/18/2005 9:34:00 PM
I love this cleanser and am on my second tube of it.
This is a really fantastic cleanser for removing makeup, as it is so creamy and really makes it budge. I don't need to use a separate eye makeup remover with this. As someone has said below, you should definitely use it on dry skin. Using it on damp skin just thins out the product and decreases its ability to remove makeup and oil.
Some people have said that this cleanser leaves a residue on the skin. I definitely notice this too, but it is not a very heavy residue and it leaves me with a moisturising effect so that my skin feels soft and not dried out. Sometimes I will use the Bobbi Brown soothing face tonic (toner) after this cleanser (i) to get off all traces of makeup if I was wearing heavy makeup that day, or (ii) if I really want to get rid of that residue.
I love the fact that this cleanser is so good at removing makeup but absolutely does NOT leave my skin dry or tight at all! For reference, I have combination skin which is dehydrated and flaky but still oily and blemish-prone in the T-zone. A cleanser like Cetaphil is good at being gentle on my skin, but just doesn't cut it when makeup needs to be removed.
This cleanser feels and smells absolutely wonderful: a rich, cool, soothing cream with a calming lavender scent. I love it!

Blush -Bobbi Brown - cream blush stick
cuteepie 3/6/2005 12:32:00 AM
I LOVE my cream blush sticks! They are fabulous if you want a formulation that creates a youthful, more dewy look on your cheeks.
Because of the creamy consistency, they are especially well-suited for people with drier and perhaps flaky skin, although I believe they would work for anything from dry to normal skin. (The staying power would not be good for those with fairly oily skin, though, I think.)
The colours and texture are very buildable so you can create a beautiful, natural-looking light flush of colour if desired, or build up a stronger look for evening.
The right application is really important! When I first used this, I applied it directly onto my cheeks by dotting it on, and then tried to blend it with my fingers. (I did this because the MUA at the Bobbi Brown counter used this technique when trying the colour on me.) However, the result was an uneven, splotchy area of colour that grabbed onto the drier/flakier areas of my skin.
NOW, I use either a foundation brush or a make-up sponge/wedge to blend the colour in. I either: (i) swipe the brush over the cream blush stick to pick up the colour, then brush it in short motions onto my cheeks, or (ii) dot the colour onto my cheeks and then blend with the brush or the sponge. This results in a gorgeous, very natural looking flush of colour that is beautiful and very dewy-looking. It really works, so if you are having trouble getting cream blushes to look natural, try a brush or a sponge! I was doubtful that it would work when it was recommended to me, but now I MUST apply it this way. I LOVE this product!2 out of 2 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? Makeup Brushes -Bobbi Brown - Eye Brow Brush
cuteepie 3/3/2005 12:59:00 AM
There is something about this brush, which other brow brushes don't have, that makes it SO perfect for the brow.
Its bristles are very stiff, and slightly angled, with a long oval surface area. Used flat, it is excellent for shading in larger areas; used slanted and on its edge, it's great for drawing in and extending the outer ends of the brow.
I have the short handle, which is perfect for carrying around with me in my make-up bag! It comes with a plastic pouch, and an ingenius tubular plastic protector for the brush end.
I LOVE this brush!

Makeup Brushes -Bobbi Brown - Eyebrow Brush
cuteepie 2/20/2005 6:01:00 AM
This is a fantastic little brush. The bristles are stiff (to complement the relative stiffness of eyebrow hairs, I suppose) and somehow manage to deposit *JUST* the right amount of powder to the brows.
I use this with my Laura Mercier eyebrow powder duo to fill in spaces in my brows and to extend them at the ends slightly. The result is lovely, groomed, full brows! I love this brush!

Skincare - Face -Eve Lom - Cleansing cloths
cuteepie 11/20/2004 9:57:00 PM
Whenever I use this cloth, my skin is perfectly exfoliated and smooth! For me, this is the ONLY method of exfoliant that actually works on my face. I have quite dehydrated and very flaky but oily skin (lacking water but too much oil). The flakes are the worst! I am Asian and I hear that Asians tend to have flaky skin. This is the only thing that gets rid of them. I find that it is best used with the Eve Lom cleanser, (which is pretty much pure oil), because the cleanser sort of lubricates the skin, making the cloth less harsh and easier to glide over the skin. I have tried substituting the Even Lom cleanser with other things like Cetaphil cleanser (didn't work - the water-base meant that it didn't really last through the 'scrubbing') and baby oil (for the lubricating effect - but it was too thin and messy!) I handwash them with Dettol (the type you use to wash your hands) after every use as I'm concerned about spreading bacteria over my face. But this takes only a minute or so, so it's not a hassle. I've used other exfoliants such as Paula's Choice BHA and AHA, good old baking soda + Cetaphil and various other cleansers with granules. None have worked on my flakes and extremely rough, dehydrated skin! Some will be too harsh, making my skin red and sensitive, yet still not removing flakes! Weird. All in all, as you can tell, i LOVE LOVE LOVE these cloths. :)
