Hair Color -Clairol - Nice 'n Easy Perfect 10
rated 2 of 5

I used 9A Light Ash Blonde. I was hoping to match my roots to the already bleached highlights I had done at the salon and can't afford to get redone. I had previously used a standard Nice 'N Easy. Perfect 10 says it reduces red tones because it's an ash shade. Ummm, no. It brought ALL my red tones out whereas a standard Nice 'N Easy shade with the same statement doesn't. And it didn't cover my few grey hairs. I've also noticed that it's hard to find even if I wanted to try it again. I'll go back to normal Nice 'N Easy. Pretty cool that it works in 10 minutes though.

Hair Color -Garnier - Nutrisse Permanent Creme Hair Color

I bought and used number 7, dark blonde "almond". I have no idea what part of it is supposed to be dark blonde (my natural hair colour) because it came out dark brown with a red tinge. It makes my skin look pretty good and the colour is ok. But it's not what I wanted. I've used the Garnier herbashine in dark blond (with success) and thinking it was the same company the colour would be the same, No. I won't be using this again. Thankfully my hair doesn't hold on to colour all that well even permanent so it's washing out and lightening a bit.

This is a pretty good powder. It gives my skin a glow. It doesn't turn orange on me or cake up. I will buy again.

Hair Color -L'Oreal - Recital Preference

I used Florida blonde (7.3) on my hair to blend my new growth with my highlights. It's a pretty good match to my natural hair colour, just slightly lighter but it completely washed out of the highlighted hair within a few washes. So much for permanent. Oh well, trying something different this time round.

Hair Removal -Unlisted Brand - Schick Quattro for women Trimstyle

I've had two of these things and both have broken on me after about 6 months. They are good while they work but I'm going back to a normal hair trimmer and a Venus Razor. The blades are also not as good as the Venus ones, I don't get a close enough shave. But I do say get the mens replacement blades because you get 4 for the same price as 3 of the womens ones.

Moisturizers -Simple - Regeneration Defending Day Moisturiser
rated 5 of 5

My skin loves this moisturiser. It's not looked this good for years. Its clearer, brighter and more evenly toned. The only downside to this moisturiser is gauging how much to pump out. It can be a bit greasy if I put too much on but that's user error rather than the p product. Will buy again

Skincare - Face -The Body Shop - Vitamin C Facial Radiance Capsules

Broke me out and costs quite a bit for what is essentially orange silicone with a bit of vitamin C in it. A little goes a long way though.

Pressed Powders -Bourjois - Mineral Radiance Powder

I bought the palest shade they do and after putting it on I was orange. Nice packaging, scent was a bit overpowering at first and the sponge was rubbish. But it still turned me orange. £9 wasted. I won't be buying this again or recommending it to others.

Hair Color -Garnier - Herbashine

I used this in Dark Blonde to try and cover up all my highlights I'm trying to grow out. I'm currently poor so it's a lot cheaper than going to the hairdressers. It came out really quite dark when I'd washed if off, so much so I was considering a colour remover product. I didn't remove it and I'm glad I did. It's faded to nearly the exact same colour I was paying £45 for. It even fooled my hairdresser when I went for a trim the other day. It's on the verge of all being out and needs redoing, but it has also lasted longer than the professional colour. I'll definitely buy this again.

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Hemp Hand Protector

I love this cream, I even like the funky smell. It works wonderfully on my dry hands and I've used it on my feet with the same success. At £10 for 100ml it's not exactly cheap but I'll definitely buy this again.

Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara Waterproof

I like this mascara. It gives a nicely defined lashes. My only complaint is that towards the end of the day I've got smudges under my eyes, not a good look when I have dark circles anyway. I'm not buying it again because of the smudging.

OMG! What the heck is this stuff? I had the consistency of Tippex. Yuk. The colour looks good in the bottle but doesn't apply well and looks awful on.

Moisturizers -The Body Shop - Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream

I love this moisturiser. The woman in the shop recommended this one over the normal one for my massively dry skin. It's normally dry but this winter it's even worse. I now have remarkably smooth and even textured skin. I'm not even getting the annoying little dry skin plugs I usually get on my forehead. I love the scent. I don't get oily patches and it lasts all day. I love it and I'll buy again.

Liquid -Clinique - Superbalanced Foundation
rated 3 of 5
curlylaura 10/6/2009 4:07:00 AM

This makes me look great when I put it on, perfect, flawless skin and 27 alabaster is a perfect match for my skin tone. The only problem I have it is it's too moisturising for my dry-ish skin. I end up looking oily and it gathers in little areas all over my face and in my smile lines within 2 hours of putting it on even if it's set with powder. I have to blot repeatedly through the day which takes a bit off each time so I end up looking blotchy by lunchtime. I'm going to give it a bit more time to figure it out, as the weather changes again it may be better but I'm not betting on it. Edit: I've recently been trying this again and it works better in the winter for me but I've been getting little waxy bumps on my face and I can't decide if it's due to this foundation or not. I do like how it covers my redness though.

Mascara -Maybelline - Define A Lash Waterproof
rated 3 of 5
curlylaura 8/31/2009 4:25:00 AM

I bought this because I liked the original non-waterproof formula and thought "hey, great lashes and waterproof, I'm there". If only it was as good as the original. It makes lashes clumpy and fake looking and they can't be combed to de-clump. It also made my lashes dry and brittle, not an attractive look.
