I like this gel the more I use it. It seems to loosen my 3a cotton candy puffy curly head of hair and I love that. It definitely helps with the frizz. It doesn't dry crunchy for the most part either. My go to products just aren't doing it for me in this humid weather and I started purchasing a bunch of new products to try to control my hair. I always have this around but I didn't realize how valuable it was until the humidity turned my hair into a springing, poofy, tightly coiled mess. I'm loving this right now. I'm also very low maintenance and I can't stand the idea of more than one or two products on my hair...this is working all by itself - very very very cheap too...!!!!

Conditioner -Sexy Hair Concepts - healthy sexy hair soy milk conditioner
rated 5 of 5

This is the one conditioner I always have in the shower. This combined with the shampoo and the leave in conditioning spray are my HG products and I have long, 3A, curly, frizzy, hideous hair. There is something about this combination - followed with the joico icewhip/joiwhip mousse that makes my hair beautiful. The whole thing loosens the curl, makes my hair shiny and kills the frizz. I honestly don't like the smell of the conditioner too much and it's very thin so I use a lot of it but it works. I stray all the time because I'm trying to find a less expensive combination but I always go back to this whole thing - this line and the mousse. Every other product I use either tightens the curl which I hate, or doesn't condition well enough and in the process of trying to save money, I end up spending too much on a bunch of stuff I never use - this is it for me...love this stuff.

Love this stuff. I have curly 3A hair and this is my standard shampoo. No matter how much I stray to find things that are newer or maybe more interesting, I always go back to this. Can't live without it!

Styling Products -Suave - Professionals Captivating Curls Whipped Cream Mousse
rated 4 of 5

This is really good stuff. I have puff ball hair - 3a curly and long and a mess of frizz. I think my joico ice whip mousse is better than this - ice whip controls the poofy much better but this is really, really great stuff for 2 dollars and I'll definitely repurchase. I couldn't find it anywhere but Target by the way - no drug store carried it. It comes out as a very thick mousse but once you emulsify it in your hands its becomes creamy - and because it becomes creamy, it's easier to apply than a mousse. My hair feels conditioned and soft and no crunchies whatsoever. My curls look good and well defined. I still have some frizz but overall it's a really great find!

Styling Products -TiGi - Catwalk Curls Rock Curl Amplifier

I've tried this product many times and I just don't like it. Everyone I know who has used it absolutely loves it and I don't get why. It doesn't give any particular shape to my hair, doesn't hold, leaves it crunchy and stringy looking and is just unimpressive. I think it's intended to enhance curl so the wavy types who want that extra boost will get it but my curly poofy 3A hair just doesn't do well with this.

Skincare - Face -Mary Kay - Blemish Control Toner
rated 1 of 5

IRRITATING!!! Alcohol a go-go! Hugely irritating. It reeks of alcohol. There are so many other blemish control toners on the market that are soothing and effective and have BHA's in them that this is an embarrassment. Very 1980's. Paula's Choice or Proactive or Clinique (Toner 2? I think) Forget this stuff. Total Crap.

I love this stuff. Very moisturizing but does't feel greasy. A little goes a long way on this and any other Mary Kay eye cream. It lasts forever. Helps with lines and doesn't irritate my eyes at all. Love It!

Powder -Mary Kay - Mineral Powder Foundation
rated 2 of 5
curlyjo1 7/12/2011 2:10:00 AM

I don't really like this product. I think it looks just like a loose powder and doesn't provide the coverage of a foundation. There's no SPF in it and that's a huge negative for me. I have acne and I rely on these loose powder foundations for my sunscreen rather than a sunscreen lotion so I won't break out as much. This just doesn't work for me. I've tried it several times but always end up using it like a powder.

Treatments -Mary Kay - TimeWise Replenishing Serum + C

I like this product a lot. It hydrates my skin and seems to clarify it too. I have acne, and sun damage and this is a moisturizer that doesn't break me out and brightens my skin at the same time. It's very light too. I'm not a fan of the individual bottles/pumps and I'd rather have just one bottle but if the individual bottles keep the integrity of the product then that's fine by me.

Eye Makeup Remover -Mary Kay - Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover
rated 5 of 5
curlyjo1 7/12/2011 1:56:00 AM

This is my FAVORITE eye makeup remover. I buy this five at a time and I've been using it for years. It removes eye makeup very easily, no rubbing at all. You can just put this on a cotton pad and press your lashes and makeup is gone! Great stuff!

Mascara -Mary Kay - Ultimate Mascara

This is my favorite mascara. It makes my lashes fuller, doesn't clump and doesn't flake. I used to use Lancome for years but replaced it with this. Love it!

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara
rated 3 of 5
curlyjo1 7/12/2011 1:51:00 AM

This is meh. It is what it is. It's a decent mascara, it's cheap, and it's easy to find. It doesn't flake or easily disappear but it doesn't do much in terms of volume or length either. I always have this around as a backup.

Styling Products -Aussie - Sprunch Spray
rated 3 of 5
curlyjo1 7/10/2011 3:15:00 AM

Ok, I'm not sure how you're supposed to use this product but for me, I first put a gel or mousse in damp hair, then put some of the sprunch spray on to control frizzies a little more. That's it. the combo of gel with this is fine for me and after reading the other reviews I doubt I'd ever just use this on my curly hair by itself - it would never work for me like that. My hair is already curly, I don't need help with curls- I need control and this is a nice smelling, inexpensive styling spray. I suppose I use it only as a hair spray but it has more flexibility.

Treatments -ENJOY - Shine and Smooth

This is my favorite serum when I straighten my hair. I'm poof poof poofy. My hair is long, dark brown and seriously frizzy and curly. I keep my hair curly and just don't deal with straightening much but when I do, this is the best serum for me. I think it keeps humidity at bay better than anything else. My hair is always gorgeous with this stuff. It smells great too. I put it on damp hair, and blow dry with a round brush, then a little more when it's dry and my hair turns out great every time.
