Eye Shadow -Giorgio Armani - eyes to kill
curlygirl45 8/12/2011 12:33:00 AM
I have 1, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10 and love them all. I use Trish McEvoy Bare Eye base, and with apply with a light touch to my lids and then it's not too sparkly. I usually use a complementary eye shadow to set - will last up to 10 hours on my oily lids, without eye shadow lasts a few hours less.

Misc Beauty Tools -Clarisonic - Clarisonic PLUS Sonic Skin Cleansing System
curlygirl45 8/12/2011 12:23:00 AM
I picked the Nordstrom Anniversary Plus edition and have been using it for the last three weeks. This set came with a normal, body, sensitive and delicate brush head and cleanser samples (that I'm not that impressed with). I'm using the delicate and sensitive on my face and the body and the skin refining polish (which was also in this set) on my kp. My son is using the normal brush. I'm seeing great results. I've wanted one of these forever and didn't want to spend the money so I've tried other things, among them, the Shiseido face brush. I shouldn't have waited because this is worth every penney.

Eye Shadow -Giorgio Armani - Eyes to Kill #10
curlygirl45 4/22/2011 9:33:00 PM
So far, I've gotten #4, #8, and #10. They go on smoothly, last and are just beautiful. #4 with MAC Sweet Sienna or Shu #945 - the silvery taupe colors. #8 as a wash looks great with Fyrinnae platinum - Extremely easy eye to go.

Cleansers -Shu Uemura - pure:nu gentle cleansing oil-in-gel
curlygirl45 4/16/2011 12:14:00 AM
I use Shu A/O cleansing oil before I get in the shower, but sometimes I forget and once you're wet, forget it. So I was excited to see this product in an email. You can use this wet or dry but I usually just use it when I've forgotten to oil up and my face is wet. It doesn't lather much so I just squirt a little in my hand, rub hands together and put on my face. It just does a nice cleansing job - even cleaning most of the waterproof mascara.

Liquid -Le Metier de Beaute - Classic Flawless Foundation
curlygirl45 3/12/2011 11:39:00 PM
I'm on my second bottle of this in color V. I use an Armani foundation brush to apply and this just makes my skin look really good - smooth even color. I used to use CDP foundation but this is even nicer and cost less.

Fragrances -Escada - Lily Chic EDT
curlygirl45 4/28/2010 11:54:00 PM
I'm almost through my bottle that I bought in 2000 and I love this as much now as I did when I bought it. I will be very sad when it is used up and gone. I didn't use it for a long time since I knew it was LE but it's the only Escada I've ever liked. I don't know how to describe perfumes but I love it going on and the drydown. I see there are a lot of negative reviews here but it always smelled great on me and I still get compliments on it and I've never smelled anything else like it. It does seem the perfumes I like have low ratings and perfumes I despise get high praise here so I take the fragrance reviews with a grain of salt.

Eye Primer -Fyrinnae - Pixie Epoxy
curlygirl45 3/7/2010 12:09:00 AM
Love this - I wanted to use Gilded Green pig as a liner - so I took a dab of Pixie Epoxy on my eyeliner brush and lined my eye with it and then once dry, went over it with the pigment as a liner. Nice foiled liner. Then I took a e/s brush and brushed some more pigment on my lid. Because the liner line was foiled, the additional pigment was a bit lighter and it blended great. I did use Trish Mc eye primer in Bare as a base. Will definitely buy again - I'm using up my sample and have placed a full-size order.

Eye Shadow -Laura Mercier - Eye Basics in Flax
curlygirl45 8/15/2009 9:58:00 PM
I used to use the LM Linen (too light) and Wheat (too dark) so gave up on the Eye Basics and found Trish McEvoy Bare eye primer. Well, I tried Flax and it works (maybe I wasn't the only with the Linen/Wheat issues). Anyway, once I've used up the TM Bare, I'll just use the Flax. I have oily lids and never liked the UDPP so I'm glad LM got a new color. I'm coming home to LM.

Eyeliner -Shu Uemura - Painting Liner in ME Green
curlygirl45 7/18/2009 11:24:00 PM
Great color for my green/blue eyes - lasts as well as BB gels or Fluidlines (like all day on my oily lids - even during the hot summer). A little pricey - but you don't have to use much. I use a Shu 5F brush and get a nice thin line which you could make thicker if needed. I don't have much of a lid so thin line is better.

Styling Products -Farouk CHI - Chi Iron Guard
curlygirl45 6/17/2009 10:21:00 AM
Do Not Buy This Garbage - This is my first MUA negative review so you can tell I hated this! I had never used a thermal spray so I didn't know any different. Even lightly spraying this product leaves your hair stiff and coated. I tried again to use it yesterday - when I washed my hair last night (3 shampooings-1 with a clarifying shampoo) I could barely run a comb through my hair with my detangler and it still felt coated and was dry as straw. This morning still feels coated - even with detangler, difficult to comb. Since Iron Guard was my first thermal spray I thought this was how it worked - but just in case, I had bought Wella Thermal Spray (red bottle). What a difference, nice hair - no coating and could wash easily. I love Silk Infusion but not this crap. What a waste of money. I held on to it too long trying to make it work so I couldn't return it and calling Chi's Customer Service was a waste of time. So now I won't even buy the Silk Infusion or any other CHI product.

Eye Shadow -Estee Lauder - Double Wear Shadow Creme - Golden Apricot
curlygirl45 5/17/2009 9:25:00 PM
Stayed put - no creasing - I wore it with MAC Melon pigment and it looked great. Jar and consistency like a paint pot - $17.50. It's a great base for a neutral eye as well. I have similar cream shadows for the other colors - I didn't have a cream shadow in this particular shade so this was the one for me.

Loose Powders -Christian Dior - Dior Diorskin Nude Fresh Glow Powder SPF 10
curlygirl45 5/17/2009 9:19:00 PM
I'm using with the Diorskin Nude Foundation and my face looks so smooth with using the two together (covers the red and smooths out the pores). Unfortunately, I'm oily and dry so I still have to blot but it still looks good at the end of the day. I've yet to find a powder that contolled the oilies so I don't hold that against this powder. I like the sifter as well. 9/6/09 Update - It's been so hot here in Cali - I didn't want to wear foundation so I buffed the powder alone in with a kabuki and was pretty impressed by how nice it looked alone. This will be my new 'don't want to put make-up on but don't want to scare anyone in public' look.

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - sensitive skin sunblock spf 30
curlygirl45 5/17/2009 9:09:00 PM
Well, I've tried high-end and low-end sunscreens. Apparently, I can only tolerate titanium dioxide in my sunscreen which this is. I liked Clarins mineral filter but couldn't stand the fragrance. This is cheap and I don't break out when I use it. So it looks like a keeper. I don't have any problem with it soaking in or leaving a white cast. I use this for body only - I use Clarins UV Plus for my face which I adore even though it's pricey.

Liquid -Christian Dior - Diorskin Nude Hydrating Makeup SPF 10 [DISCONTINUED]
curlygirl45 5/17/2009 9:01:00 PM
I really like the feel of this and it covers up my redness and pores. I have not noticed it changing color so I don't know what that's about.
I use the Diorskin Nude Powder and my face looks really put together with the foundation and powder. Don't know what it'll look like in the summer but it's pretty difficult to look ok in 90-100 degree weather anyway.
Edit 7/18/09 - I have never gotten so many compliments on my skin - and I'm older and have broken caps - and this is compliments from normal people not SAs. So as far as I'm concerned I'll use until they discontinue it. And even now when it's so hot - and with hot flashes - I look dewy. Keeper.

Makeup Brushes -Shu Uemura - 5F Sable Eyeliner
curlygirl45 10/30/2008 2:52:00 PM
I'm always on the hunt for brushes and I really like this one for gel eyeliners - does work well for pencil and liquid also. Just the perfect width for my little-lid eyes.
