Lotions/ Creams -L'Occitane - Immortelle Brightening Moisture Cream
cstg 1/11/2011 9:45:00 PM
Don't take me wrong, but normally I love L'Occitane's Immortelle line, in particular the Immortelle Precious Cream that is soft like whipped cream. But in this case, I am very disappointed with their Immortelle Brightening Moisture Cream which is a gel formula cream. It is supposed to be used during the morning and evening, however the first thing is that the texture is very light. And the problem here is that after it supposedly dries, the cream then "FLAKES" when touched just 2 minutes later after application!!! It does not absorb thoroughly into the skin like Precious Cream or even the Shea Butter Ultra Rich Face Cream (which in cold winter weather is far better than the precious cream). Well, I won't be buying the Immortelle Brightening Moisture Cream anymore. The brightening serum is good enough and works better than this moisture cream.

Liquid -NARS - Oilfree foundation
cstg 1/19/2009 8:09:00 AM
Oh I really wanted to like this, just because I love NARS blush, eyeshadow, lipstick, and gloss. But the oil-free foundation in Deauville really does suck big time. It dries fast, cakes, and leaves my face looking lifeless. I will return to either IPSA creamy foundation or Laura Mercier foundation in Warm Beige, both of which gave me a natural fresh face look. Will never do it again. Also, it does need a pump, lousy though this product be.

Fragrances -Burberry - Brit Sheer
cstg 1/15/2009 6:54:00 AM
Hate it. Have the sample. Liked it at first upon applying it (citrusy and light, clean). But 1/2 day later, it smells heavy and cheap. So difficult to find a clean, floral/citrus scent that is right for me. The last find was Px's Calyx and nothing can seem to replace it.

Mascara -NARS - Orchid
cstg 5/1/2008 11:03:00 AM
I bought this one a whim. However, even though it's supposed to be waterproof - this smudges on my lower lid after a while. This is the only negative part. I like the overall design, it's small enough to go into any makeup bag and not take up space, and the wand size is good and controlable. Unlike other reviewers, I can't notice any smell of tar or orchid scent to it. To me, there is no noticeable scent. With sensitive eyes and as a contact lens wearer, this doesn't irritate my eyes, and when I use eye makeup remover, it comes off without any trouble. It doesn't flake. It doesn't clump either. If I don't find anything better, I'll buy it again. Been using this for about 2 months now.

Mascara -Lancome - Courbe Virtuose (Divine Lasting Curves)
cstg 5/1/2008 10:57:00 AM
I bought this in Bangkok at the Duty Free Shop and it sells as "Virtuose" and not Courbe Virtuose, but it appears to be the same product but name marketed differently per region. Anyhow, it applies well, but like someone else mentioned, I can't figure out how the curved brush works wonders or not. It doesn't irritate my eyes and does not appear to smudge. It will last all day. However, I can't tell if my lashes got longer or not. The curve is just average, depends on if you had luck with the eyelash curler or not, for the curve. So, I'm not sure I'd buy this product again, as I wasn't really impressed. I'd like length + volume + and super black color lashes, which this doesn't really cut it. == I have used this for about 1 month now and have learned how to use it better. So, now I love it more than any other mascara I've used so far. I use the regular formula (non-waterproof) and it does not smear or clump. I just have to curl my lashes well, then apply. Lasts all day and never irritates my contact lens eyes. It's my HG now.

Powder -Laura Mercier - Foundation Powder
cstg 9/5/2007 5:17:00 AM
I have this in the Translucent (which is whitish) and Light (which has some bit of color). At first, I liked it for that cottony fluffy feeling it gave me and it was applied to my face. But - the problem is that there is no puff with the pack. And I don't like applying with a brush. So, I got to find my own loose powder puff to use. Just don't buy it. When compared to Cornsilk Loose Powder, oh yeah - The Laura Mercier powder foundation was great. But - not exactly my dream come true. It's not intelligent enough to stop the oil on my t-zone from stopping.

Liquid -Laura Mercier - Laura Mercier Oil Free Foundation
cstg 9/5/2007 5:13:00 AM
I bought the Oil Free Foundation in Warm Ivory, mainly because a friend of mine recommended it. I was really disappointed and don't recommend anyone to buy it. Because it oxidizes. Within a few hours, the color of my skin will have gotten tanner/darker. And also, oilier. I suspect I won't make it through the end of the bottle. The Laura Mercier loose powder was "soft" and "fluffy" to the skin, but other than that - it was also not oil resistant. A big thumbs down.

Lipstick -NARS - Sexual Healing
cstg 8/9/2007 2:03:00 AM
I just bought this... and I wish I had listened to the BA and gone for Tutti Frutti instead. (sighs) I really dislike the Sexual Healing (frost pink champagne) lipstick, but bought here in Thailand (since I've used it now), I can't return a used product. The next time, I will buy Tutti Frutti (frost strawberry color) or Christina (frost raspberry color) instead. The Sexual Healing l/s was just too pale on me. It looked deeper when applied to my hand. I get by with mixing it with a rust colored matte lipstick (Overload by MAC). Don't do it - don't buy this color!!!!!

Loose Powders -Laura Mercier - Laura Mercier Loose Powder in Ivory
cstg 7/23/2007 9:28:00 PM
I switched over to using LM Loose Powder in Ivory, after finishing off Corsilk Loose Powder in Translucent (no color). The Cornsilk was awful, very coarse. And comparitively, the LM Loose Powder is finely milled (as advertised on the web), and sets my makeup fine. It goes on realy smooth and soft. I like it. Recommend buying this in Ivory.. However, not sure how the Translucent will fare, as I have yet to try it.

Lip Gloss -Lancome - Color Fever Gloss - Dangerously Pink no 321
cstg 3/16/2007 4:00:00 AM
I just bought Color Fever Gloss in Dangerously Pink #321. At first, I was so sad that they had discontinued Star Gloss because in my opinion there is no better lip gloss with glitter than Star Gloss. My fave was #321 in Sugar Bage. Now, I found out that it's the exact same thing as Color Fever Gloss in Dangerously Pink. So happy now! Ecstatic, actually. Same texture, color, glitter, everything. It's my true love!

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack
cstg 2/21/2007 8:35:00 PM
I've been using this since Early 2006 and am not yet 1/2 through it yet, and it hasn't dried out either. A little bit goes a long way. It also stays put, without running, and without irritating the eyes. It's smoother in application in going on, especially when compared to the Liquidlast which sucks. I'd recommend buying/using Fluidline any day.

Eyeliner -MAC - Liquidlast Liner - Point Black
cstg 2/21/2007 8:33:00 PM
At first, I liked the Liquidlast Liner because it stays put through heat and sweat. But it's hard to apply and doesn't really go on smoothly, even me with a steady hand. Compared to the Fluidline gel eyeliner, Liquidlast loses hands down. The only good thing is that it's portable, while Fluidline you got to buy the eyeliner brush for application. But after a while my eyelids stung, I think after the extreme heat and sweat, it irritated my eyes a bit. Don't recommend it.

Moisturizers -L'Occitane - Immortelle Precious Crème
cstg 11/7/2006 9:51:00 PM
I have been using this for the past year. It's great and moisturizing, doesn't clog my skin and it's sticky like other creams. I use it day and/or night. Am thinking of also trying the Very Precious Cream, though it's more expensive - it is supposed to be even better and lighter than Precious Cream. If anyone's used the new Very Precious Cream please let me know what it's like. Thanks. Suggest nearly anything in the Immortelle line that's skincare as it's the best.

Lip Treatments -C.O. Bigelow - My Favorite Lip Balm
cstg 10/19/2006 8:24:00 PM
I bought this in the "Tube" and "Tub" formulas. I have opened the "Tube" and at first I was happy with it because it was thick and moisturizing. But I live in Bangkok and it's October and between HOT HUMID + RAINY MONSOON SEASON. So, what happenedn is that my very NEW C.O. Bilgelow lippie tube has melted. Yes, it MELTED and the oils and cream have managed to SEPARATE themselves, so now I hate it. It's gone watery. Do, if you are looking for a lip balm that is the equivalent of CARMEX in quality, just please... stick with the Carmex!

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Pink Grapefruit Collection
cstg 9/13/2006 7:10:00 AM
All I can say is that I REALLY LOVE &hearts any BBW product that's "Pink Grapefruit"! I got it when I was last in Chicago about 3 weeks ago... then couldn't get enuf of it... so had a friend bring me more a few days ago when she came back out to Bangkok. Funny, when I was in the States, I was never as into it as now. Great citrusy scent perfect for hot tropical round the year weather like Bangkok.
