Pressed Powders -Cover Girl - TruBlend Pressed Powder
csjunkie 10/26/2006 7:32:00 PM
I think this powder is great. Fantastic coverage, excellent color match and didn't break me out. It lasts through a eight hour day of classes too! (I have slightly dry & sometimes combo skin) I have switched between this and Maybellines Pure Powder. In my opinion this is better though.

Moisturizers -Olay - Active Hydrating Beauty Fluid - Original
csjunkie 7/27/2006 3:51:00 PM
I love this! I needed a new moisturizer after my Aveeno Positively Radiant was causing me a mess of problems and purchased this at CVS for 6.99. I was surprized when I opened the box containing a plastic jar with pale pink lotion in it. It does have a fragrance, I wouldn't say its too strong but its there! Smells like baby powder mixed with roses, (reminds me of my grandmothers perfume.) It felt good the instant I put it on. Very moisturizing for my dry skin. Didn't bother my skin or clog my pores either. Excellent product!

Skincare - Face -Pro Activ - 3-Step System
csjunkie 7/22/2006 4:43:00 PM
ProActiv is a great skincare system. I used it for one straight year and then used it off and on until now. I must say first of all I do not suffer from moderate to severe acne, my skin is pretty normal except around that time of the month! It worked great for me, a little drying but that is the result of all the B.P. in it. My first shipment included 1 Renewing Cleanser,(I hate the little beads in it!) 1 Revitalizing Toner,(I'm not sure if it does anything) 1 Repairing Lotion(This is the best out of the three) and a free gift with purchase 1 Refining Mask(a sulfur based 10 minute mask). Its not harsh or abrasive and didn't seem to irritate my sensitive skin. Overall good products but I will not repurchase because....
My biggest complaints about ProActiv are:
1) Must be ordered from a commercial on the TV.
2) Its very inexcessable (you cannot buy it at any store, so if you run out before your shipment comes tough crap.)
3) It comes to about $40 + bucks every eight weeks, so that means $20 dollars gets randomly taken out of my account every month.
4) I used up the cleanser first (never seemed to have enough), and bottles and bottles of toner sitting on my counter useless after I got a new shipment.
Overall good skincare but they need to sell it in STORES, where we real people can get what we need when we need it!! Anyway I switched to Acne Free 3 step System and am LOVING my results, and for $18 bucks at Wal-Mart thats awesome!!(Acne Free as more BP in its Repair Lotion than ProActiv, so it makes it more effective)

Skincare - Face -Clinique - 3 Step System
csjunkie 7/7/2006 3:26:00 PM
I should've learned my lesson the first time I bought this system. The first time I bought this system about a year ago I was Type 1 (delicate, dry), and was given Facial Bar Soap-Mild, Clarifying Lotion 2, and D.D.M. Lotion. This system did not keep my skin clear, and gave me a cystic zit next to my eyebrow (that I still have issues with to this day). The bar soap is very anti-hygenic and gets all yucky, Clarifying Lotion 2 burned like crazy (not the "gentle tingle" they call it.) it made it impossible to get my contacts in! D.D.M. Lotion is a thin, yellow substance that didn't do much of anything. Anyway I quit it after two months.
Now fast forward one year, I had heard good things about their new products, and thought I was merely a victim of that grossly flawed system they call "skin typing" and took the survery on their website. With the same skin type-Type 1 again, however with brand new results and products! My hopes sky rocketed, perhaps this would work for me! I went and bought ($56 USA) Facial Soap Liquid-Mild, Clarifying Lotion 1, and D.D.M. Lotion. I got it home, used and admitedly my skin felt good, I even followed their advice about using a cleanser then the soap as the sales girl a year ago told me. After four washes (two days) I awoke and was covered in zits of ALL sizes. I was horrified! But, since they say could get worse (which I must admit I have dryer skin, but hardly ever had any problems with acne.) before it gets better, so for the next few days I continued to wash, and everything got worse, and worse, and WORSE! My skintone and texture was bumpy, uneven, and soo greasy. I hadn't even used it a week and I wanted to throw it all out! With the help of Proactiv my skin is almost completely clear again (thank goodness). I disagree with some reviewers who say that the people who didn't get great results from it were using it wrong, I tried twice but hey I guess everything can't work for everyone!

Cleansers -Clinique - Rinse-off foaming cleanser
csjunkie 7/2/2006 2:53:00 PM
This is a great cleanser. I use this to take off my make-up before the Three Step System. It removes every stitch of make-up, (but then again I don't wear waterproof anything). I love the squeaky clean feeling and it doesn't feel stripped. Leaves my skin very soft and smooth.

Crème -Physicians Formula - Beauty Spiral in Brightening Tan
csjunkie 7/2/2006 2:10:00 PM
I bought this in Brightening Ivory. I love this make-up. I have sensitive skin and usually alot of creme foundations break me out or clog my pores. To my suprize this one did not. It covers absolutely everything and gives a very glowly look. (It has AMAZING staying power too.) The color match is perfect (I'm quite a pale girl). Overall I think this is a great foundation!

Moisturizers -Aveeno - Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer
csjunkie 7/2/2006 1:58:00 PM
(Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer w/o SPF) Average moisturizer, I don't see anything "positively radiant" about it, except the shimmery mica which clings to my face. Didn't annoy my skin, but didn't do a whole lot either. After almost three weels of using this I just got tired of getting such little results.

Cleansers -Aveeno - Positively Radiant Cleanser
csjunkie 6/30/2006 9:11:00 PM
Ok cleanser, nothing great or to special about it. I fail to see anything "positively radiant" about it. Its a simple, non-foaming cleanser with glitter in it. Smells nice, not over powering. The pump is terrible, I usually need three pumps to feel clean, or at least wash my face. Like I said very average.

Blush -Revlon - Cream Blush - Berry Flirtatious
csjunkie 6/27/2006 3:52:00 PM
I thought this would be a great blush but it ended up being less than impressive. The color is a nice, pretty, flushed color. It dries very quickly, which makes it difficult to get even color and it begins to spot after a few hours. When applied to my cheeks it made me look a little shiny. The compact is the best thing about this product, I loved the pop out mirror on the bottom! So I'll give it two lippies for color and the nice compact, will not repurchase.

Bronzers -Bonne Bell - Powder bronzer
csjunkie 6/26/2006 10:49:00 PM
This product radiates "cheap and drugstore". I bought this in Golden Tan, and the color is horrible. It doesn't blend well and when applied to my pale, cool toned skin it made me look like orange and very fake. I was very disappointed.

Pressed Powders -Maybelline - PurePowder shine-free finish
csjunkie 6/24/2006 6:24:00 PM
My first complaint about this powder is the packaging. The powder is in a small little sqaure and below it a teeny tiny applicator and behind it a very small mirror. What were the Maybelline people thinking? My second complaint is the powder itself. Its translucent which is nice but I don't feel like it sets my make-up that well. Sure, a couple of shine free hours but by later in the day it feels (and looks) like I've sweated it all off! Combining it with the Pure foundation, there is little to zero coverage. It didn't break me out though, so I'll give it two lippies, otherwise not an impressive product.

Treatments -Clinique - Acne Sol. Emergency Lotion
csjunkie 6/24/2006 6:04:00 PM
Wonderful spot treatment! This is the best little lotion I have tried to get rid of those tiny (or large) blemishes on my forehead. This isn't one of those -apply with a butterknife deals - a little goes a LOONGG way. It heals the spot quickly and effectively without all the scarring. It seems to have enough BP for it to work, but not harm my very sensitive skin. Love it!

Lip Gloss -Clinique - Colour Surge Impossibly Glossy - Crushed Opal

I looove this lip gloss. The color is light, but still has enough pigment not to wash me out. I like the shimmery look it gives, and its moisturizing!

Liquid -Cover Girl - TruBlend
csjunkie 6/21/2006 1:01:00 PM
I like that this foundation is more whipped, not a runny, sticky substance. I used Natural Ivory and I must say a dead on match for my very fair skin. The coverage was excellent, not cakey. The pump bottle is great too, I had to get used to that. Too bad it broke me out.
