Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara Waterproof
crystal9 2/26/2010 1:09:00 AM
this is an amazing product, but ONLY IF what you're looking for is clump-free natural-looking lashes and nothing dramatic. amazing staying power, holds curls all day, very little smudging, and doesn't dry out that fast. it's not super hard to remove like lashblast waterproof, while still being waterproof. and yes the lashes are softer than other mascaras.. but obviously still stiffer than natural lashes.

Liquid -Marcelle - Oil Free Matte Finish Make Up in Normal/Oily/Combo Skin
crystal9 2/26/2010 1:04:00 AM
it didn't break me out, which is a good thing. however, it's not a matte foundation as the name suggests. -coverage: i think this is a rather sheer and watery foundation, while somehow still managing to making you look like you're wearing makeup, which is terrible. -staying power: not that great. i have oily skin (which this foundation is meant for) and when i blot my face throughout the day some foundation comes off onto the blotting paper. if i dont blot, the foundation forms this.. pattern.. where they clump wherever there's no pore/oil. hard to describe, but basically looks horrible. -colour: i'm NC25 and i found this in Almond to work best for me. for me though, i could use a bit more yellow undertone. i can't speak for any other colour though.

Treatments (Eye) -Marcelle - Hydra-C ComplexE Eye Contour Gel-Cream
crystal9 2/26/2010 12:57:00 AM
well, like other reviewers have said, it's the perfect consistency. and awesome packaging. very hygenic. one pump is exactly what i need for both eyes. i didnt really notice any drastic improvements around my eye areas though other than that it's a bit better moisturized. so one lippy off. but i think it's a great eye cream for the price. would purchase again (but i might want to try more expensive brands next time to see if it improves the look around my eyes)

Makeup Brushes -The Body Shop - Mineral Foundation Brush
crystal9 2/26/2010 12:51:00 AM
this is such an amazingly soft dense kabuki. i can't say anything bad about it.... if i HAD to though, it's too dense and big that it can't get in the corners of my face (like on the side of nose).. but kabukis aren't really meant for that anyways. so still 5 out of 5!

Eyeliner -Bare Escentuals - Buxom Lashliner -- Leatherette
crystal9 2/25/2010 6:13:00 PM
this is actually the first gel liner i've tried, but i was confident i'll be pleased with it after reading the good reviews here. and i am! -texture/application: very smooth. i can see why some reviewers say if you go over it again it fades. this only happens when the liner on your eyes have not yet set and your brush is dry. if you want to go over the same line again, just get a bit more product on the brush first. -colour: i find the 'blackness' of the black just right for me. its probably not the blackest black i've seen, so if that's what you're looking for, maybe this isn't for you. -Staying power: great. i have oily lids and often have trouble finding liners that'll stay on me w/o smudging for 14 hrs but this lasts all day w/ very little smudging with UDPP. (there's some smudging under my eyes only if i apply it on the bottom lashes. no smudging if i only apply to top) on my waterline, it stays for about 6 hrs until it starts to budge, which is the best i've had so far. it wasn't irritating, but it also wasn't 100% comfortable.. so i won't be wearing it on my waterline too often. -lengthening/volumizing lashses: I've been using it for only a week (for around 14 hrs/day) and I'm already starting to see a difference!!!!! my lashes are visibly longer and i'm possibly already growing new hairs (especially the bottom ones, since they're shorter and more sparse to begin with, its easier to tell when there's a difference!). i can't wait to try this for a few more weeks to see how much effect it'll have!!

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Deluxe Eyeshadow - Ransom
crystal9 2/8/2010 1:50:00 PM
I have the Deluxe shadow box so this colour came with it. The quality is like any other UD deluxe shadows - pretty good. But the colour comes out blue on me. It's not purple at all.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Waterproof
crystal9 8/5/2009 2:18:00 AM
Pros: -holds curls very well for me, which has always been a problem for me. -volumizes well and lengthens reasonably well too, giving it the dramatic look. Neutral: -pretty waterproof but hard to remove later. Cons: -wand is too big so it's difficult to apply w/o getting it on lids, or to apply to the bottom lashes. -gets kinda clumpy especially with 2 or more coats -the lasting power isn't too great, at least on me. Overall: -it's not a bad mascara but i don't think it lives up to the hype that i've been hearing. -i know it's not fair to compare this to high-end mascaras but it's true that other high-end mascaras have done a better job (more volume and length w/ less clumps) for me. -i don't regret buying the product but i think there must be better mascaras out there for me and will keep trying different mascaras.

Makeup Brushes -Unlisted Brand - Posh - Retractable Blush Brush
crystal9 4/17/2009 9:37:00 PM
Like other reviewers have mentioned, the bristles are very soft. I did notice the musky smell but I think it's going away slowly. However, I do experience some shedding (an average of one hair every time I use it) so I took one lippy off for that. I didn't have it for too long though so maybe the shedding will decrease with more washes. I've only washed it once so far. I'll update if I see any changes later.

Polishes -Zoya - Alix
crystal9 4/5/2009 3:44:00 PM
Alix is a ruby red colour with no shimmer or sparkles. One coat comes out more red than ruby, and two coats looks ruby. If I want the colour I get with one coat, I need to be careful to apply it very evenly because it will look streaky and a bit sheer. So I recommend using two coats. As with other zoya polishes i've tried, it's formaldehyde, toluene, dibutyl phthalate, and camphor free, and the texture is very very smooth. No chipping. *edit* The reason why I took one lippy off is because I personally like the colour of one coat better than two coats, but it's hard to achieve a uniform colour for all 10 fingers with one coat. But then this is just my personal opinion of the colour.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Pencil Perfect Automatic Eyeliner
crystal9 4/5/2009 2:47:00 AM
omg, what i wanted to say has already all been said by lashout88 a few posts below. the cap cracked on mine too, and i take good care of my stuff so i think it's just the poor design. also, it's not retractable!!! all the other self-sharpening eyeliners i've seen before are retractable. well, this one isn't. the liner itself... it has great pigmentation but perhaps it's too much. it smudges like crazy.

Eyeliner -Annabelle - Kohl Pencil Crayon in "Blue Gray"
crystal9 4/5/2009 2:42:00 AM
great product overall, especially for the price. i'm halfway through the product and the cap is still intact, unlike most other cheap eyeliners! great for lining on the bottom lashes for a more natural look than lining with a black liner. the colour itself is also pretty unique. grey with a hint of blue tone.

Lipstick -New York Color - Ultra Moist Lipwear - Ruby
crystal9 4/5/2009 2:36:00 AM
On my lips it's a red colour with a very slight hint of a pink colour, and gold shimmer. I've always been big on pink lipcolours as I think that's what looks best on me. This is my first reddish lipstick. I bought it when it was on sale to experiment with it. I think it was a good buy overall, especially given its price.

Lipstick -New York Color - Ultra Moist Wear Chiffon
crystal9 4/5/2009 2:29:00 AM
I generally like NYC lipsticks but this colour didn't work for me. I really wanted a light pink colour that I can wear with heavy eye makeup. But this colour was too light with too much shimmer while not being pigmented enough. I'm not sure if those are the reasons, but on me it made me look like i'm really pale and sick. The pink didn't show at all on my lips, and didn't cover my medium-pigmented lips. It just looked like bad silvery white shimmer with my natural lipcolour showing through the shimmer. I even tried it after concealing my lips with a concealer.. still didn't work. =( I don't like wasting stuff so I just use it to tone down some of the darker lipstick colours i have.

Eyeliner -Quo - automatic eyeliner
crystal9 4/5/2009 2:21:00 AM
the product itself i think is mediocre. it goes on smoothly but it's not that dark. it's great for a more natural look but not so much for a dramatic look. the smudger at the other end is good to have, and it works better if i smudge it (but if i smudge it too hard it basically gets rubbed off so i have to be careful). the packaging isn't too great though. the cap on the smudger side is way too loose and it keeps falling off. the self-sharpening rotater thing is also too loose to the extent that while i'm using it, it rotates by itself and i keep having to readjust. maybe it's just mine though. so, for the price (more expensive than most drugstore brands like maybelline, CG, almay, etc..) I wouldn't repurchase.
