Eyeliner -Milani - Eye Tech Extreme
crazysexycoolchick 2/19/2013 6:10:00 AM
The overall look and feel of this eyeliner pen is impressive for something that only cost me $4 at target. However, the applicator tip was more difficult to use than that of Stila's Stay All Day and Physician's Formula's Eye Booster (silver packaging). I feel like Milani should have made the tip either shorter or less flexible. Don't get me wrong, it's not über difficult to apply or anything, but it stood out to me as something that could use a little improvement. The main reason I rated this product 3 lippies is the formula. It smudges underneath my eyes. I use liquid eyeliner because I have oily lids and liquid eyeliner seems to be the only type of eyeliner that doesn't smudge underneath my eyes. So whenever I do encounter a liquid eyeliner that smudges, I'm not very forgiving. On a side note, I completely disagree with the reviewer who wrote that this product is an exact dupe of Stila's Stay All Day eyeliner. In my opinion, Stila's eyeliner is a far superior product.

Lip Treatments -Nivea - A Kiss of Flavor Strawberry Tinted Lipcare SPF 4
crazysexycoolchick 11/7/2012 7:32:00 AM
I decided to try this after falling in love with the classic Nivea lip balm in the dark blue tube. This one is ok, but I like the classic one much better. There's something about the scent of the strawberry that's not quite right to me. I think it might be the sunscreen in it that's affecting the scent.

Eyeliner -Physicians Formula - Eye Booster Lash Boosting Felt-Tip Eyeliner Serum
crazysexycoolchick 8/3/2012 7:52:00 PM
There are many flaws with this eyeliner. It's lacking pigmentation so that you have to go over the same area more than once to get it dark enough. The jumbo tip is too big to easily create wings. The formula smudges underneath my eyes as the day progresses. The whole reason I even wear liquid eyeliner (as opposed to pencil or gel) is because it doesn't usually smudge! The only thing I like about this eyeliner is that the stiff felt tip makes it easy to tightline.

Polishes -Zoya - Dominique
crazysexycoolchick 7/31/2012 5:26:00 AM
I'm a big fan of Zoya nail polishes and this is a nice red that compliments my light warm toned skin. However, I wouldn't repurchase this because I prefer Zoya's Diana for a red much more. I ended up giving this away to my sister who loves it because it's a classic red that's office appropriate.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Being TRUE - essential lip balm SPF 15
crazysexycoolchick 7/25/2012 5:17:00 AM
I got this from hautelook for about $3. Even at this discounted price, I'm still sorry I bought it. Being true describes it as having a "uniquely appealing orange mint flavor" and while I like the taste of it, the scent really bothers me. The scent is minty, but in an offensive way. I also find the texture a little too oily. I much prefer my Nivea lip balms over this.

Bronzers -Tokidoki - Royal Pride
crazysexycoolchick 7/13/2012 5:07:00 AM
I will admit that I bought this mostly for the packaging. I use bronzer around the periphery of my face (near the hairline) to contour so I usually buy bronzers that are matte or near matte. Because this is a shimmery bronzer, it's been relegated to be used as blush. It is extremely shimmery, but the shimmer is very fine so that it gives the skin a sheen. People with textural skin imperfections will probably want to pass. The color is skintone colored and around NC30 or NC35. So if you have warm toned medium skin, it's very likely that this will show up as just a gold sheen. I don't particularly like this product, but I'm still glad I bought it because the packaging is just so darn cute!

Foundations -Sephora - Mineral Double Compact SPF 10
crazysexycoolchick 5/22/2012 11:14:00 PM
I'd been using Sephora's loose mineral powder foundation that was discontinued last year and was fairly satisfied with it, but hated the mess of loose powder. So, when I spotted this compact mineral powder foundation in the sale bin, I immediately snatched up two. I'm NC25 in MAC and D25 is a good match. The coverage is very buildable, though it can look cakey at full coverage. Overall, I really like this foundation, but it does have two big cons. First, it's terrible at controlling oil. Second, the packaging sucks. The hinge broke on mine even though I wasn't rough with it. Also, if you want to use the mirror or sponge that's on the lower level of the compact, the entire compact must be turned upside down.

Primer/ Corrector -BeneFit Cosmetics - The Porefessional
crazysexycoolchick 4/2/2012 6:41:00 AM
I'm glad I only paid for a mini tube of this. It feels really siliconey going on and initially minimizes the appearance of pores. However, it seems like I get oilier faster when I use this. I also think it's been causing me to breakout in little bumps.

Shampoo -John Frieda - Luxurious Volume Full Clarity Purifying Shampoo
crazysexycoolchick 3/20/2012 1:14:00 AM
I'm really surprised by all the good reviews! When I first started using this shampoo, I thought it was ok. It definitely got my hair clean, but I didn't notice any amazing changes in volume. Now that I've just finished the bottle, I can say that this shampoo strips the heck out of hair. My hair has never been more straw-like or tangly.

Concealers -Pixi - Correction Concentrate- Brightening Peach
crazysexycoolchick 11/30/2011 8:43:00 PM
I have pretty dark circles under my eyes and had never tried a color correcting concealor before so I decided to order this off the pixi website. It does help to color correct my dark circles, but the coverage isn't as good as I was hoping for. It's also expensive considering it's made in China. $15 for 3g/0.1oz

Eye Primer -Pixi - Eye Bright Primer
crazysexycoolchick 11/8/2011 6:02:00 AM
I received a sample of this along with my pixi purchase. Tried it for the first time today and didn't like it. I normally use Urban Decay's primer potion in the vintage bottle and my eyeshadow never creases. With Pixi's eye bright primer, my eyeshadow creased within 7 hours. I would never ever spend money on this.

Eyeliner -Sally Hansen - Natural Beauty Inspired by Carmindy- Forever Stay Eye Pencil
crazysexycoolchick 10/27/2011 2:39:00 AM
This is an alright pencil eyeliner, but didn't live up to the hype. All pencil eyeliners smudge on me (to varying degrees) and this one was no exception. It does apply smoothly and is better than your average pencil eyeliner, but I prefer Sephora's store brand retractable waterproof eyeliner pencil. Paraben free Fragrance free Made in Germany

Eyeliner -Physicians Formula - Shimmer strips custom eye enhancing eyeliner trio
crazysexycoolchick 10/20/2011 1:06:00 AM
I have the "brown eyes" trio and though it's a pretty good value, I won't be repurchasing it. Why? I bought it primarily for the black eyeliner and it's by far the worst of the three. The "purple shimmer" that's supposed to be in the black eyeliner appeared as tiny black flecks that would get into my eyes and irritate them. I wouldn't have known that it even had purple shimmer in it if I hadn't read the packaging. The brown and purple eyeliners are both good. However, all three eyeliners do have the tendency to swivel down a little while you're using them...so not the best packaging. I much prefer Sephora's store brand retractable waterproof eyeliners. Update: CVS was having an amazing sale on Physician's Formula and I noticed they had a new trio of colors so I decided to give these another try. The Nude Eyes trio I purchased exceeded my expectations. The black eyeliner in it has tiny shimmer particles that are subtle and flattering. It's not an extremely dark black, I'd call it charcoal. I usually like my black eyeliners very dark, but find that it can look too stark, especially in the daytime. So this is my daytime "black" eyeliner.

Hair -Pureology - HydraWhip Light Moisture Hair Souffle
crazysexycoolchick 9/29/2011 1:46:00 AM
I got this on clearance for the bargain basement price of $7.50. I bought only one because I thought maybe the reason it was marked down so much is because it isn't a good product. Boy was I wrong. This is an awesome conditioner. I have really long fine hair that's oily at the roots and dry at the ends so I apply this only on the lower portion of my hair. This leaves my hair so soft and silky and doesn't weight it down! It smells super yummy too. I don't like the packaging though, because I dislike products packaged in tubs and jars. If I ever see this deeply discounted again, you can bet your pants that I'll be stocking up, but I don't think I'll ever be able to justify spending $45 (the retail price) on a jar of conditioner.

Eyeliner -Physicians Formula - Eye booster eyeliner + serum
crazysexycoolchick 9/20/2011 5:39:00 AM
I was so happy with this the first time I used it that I thought I had found a new staple makeup item. However, after a couple of uses, the ink sometimes wouldn't flow to the tip so I always had to keep a backup liquid eyeliner handy in case this one decided to act up. I returned the eye booster eyeliner because of this reason and then bought another one thinking maybe I had just gotten a bad one, but the second one I purchased also had the same problem. I always capped it tightly too. I won't be repurchasing this again.
