This is not an "over the top" color, actually a rich greyish purple that I find very "rich" looking.... This is my go-to when I want a change from my neutral mauvey-rose basic..... Decent brush and wear. For $1.99 worth a try!

Polishes -Chanel - Rose Confidentiel

I am in the process of purging all my excess stuff and replacing with great basics I LOVE. This is one of them. A classy muted rose that looks great on my PPP skin, and doesn't pull pink out of my skintone... I can get much more use out of this than all the OPI,China Glaze and Butter Londons and Essies I wear once or twice and lose interest in,,, I am making this my signature color, goes well with all my neutral wardrobe colors. Better to spend more $$ on something I LOVE and USE,than wasting $$ on "meh" stuff that just sits there.......

Moisturizers -Trader Joe's - Nourish Oil-Free Antioxidant Facial Moisturizer

I have been on a BIG product purge lately..lucky enough to have pretty decent skin, although it is a bit sensitive,so realized I had a gazillion products I was paying big bucks for and probably could live without,,,,enter Trader Joes Have been using Purity for many years, but heard good things about the Nourish cleanser and loved it,so when I heard they had a moisturizer in the line I HAD to try it..... First...$5.99 for 6oz...can't beat that.... Oil free, has antioxidents, feels light on skin and absorbs well(takes a few minutes)....been using a week and loving it...will definatly re-purcase.. You CAN do a good skincare routine for pennies...I now use Trader Joes Nourish cleanser $7.99 for 8.45oz, Nourish moisturizer $5.99 for 6oz and Alpha Hydrox Retinol ResQ at night ..pay about $12 a tube when on sale at drugstore.com.... I also use Whole Foods 365 brand unscented shampoo and conditioner which is $4.99 a LITRE.. If it works...why pay more?????

Moisturizers -Trader Joe's - Enrich Moisturizing Face Lotion

Saw this in featured products so it reminded me to add my review! I bought this a while ago,but decided to use up a few products first...just pulled this out again.... Since I started working at home I don't wear make-up during the week, and sooo many of the serums and mosturizers I was using just made my face feel greasy or dirty later in the day,,,,which only happens if I DON"T have make-up over it.... This is going to become my daytime, workday moisturizer ...feels light and absorbs without any kind of film or heaviness... The UV has expired on my bottle, but thats fine for now.... I will definately pick up another bottle next time I am at TJs...if it works...why pay more? This would be an excellent "starter' moisturizer for the younger girls..effective,cheap and non-greasy....

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Lots of Lashes
rated 4 of 5
countrycats 3/31/2012 12:42:00 PM

I have given Great Lash a few tries over the years with no success so I held off on trying this...but when I saw the brush I gave it a try... Not just Maybelline but I have thrown out just about every drugstore mascara I have tried... I had a coupon and it was on sale so cost me about $2.00... Surprise! I LIKE it!....the brush works very well on my fine blond lashes, nothing dramatic but a good everyday mascara... Smudges a bit,no worse than any other mascara ... Good thing about this is that Sunday inserts frequently have $2 off coupons and with Ulta sales it will be pretty cheap to keep stocked.. I think this and Babylips clear lip balm are two Maybelline winners for me....

Lipstick -Lipstick Queen - Medieval
rated 5 of 5

OMG is this lipstick amazing! This is a tiny bit brighter than my HG ..Philosophy Passion lipstick, sadly d/cd but I have copied by 3CC....but It matched perfectly in the sheerness factor....and the formula is amazing... Looks almost like a plastic lippie in the tube and applies beautifully...lasts longer on the lips than the Philosophy one too.... This is a cross between a sheer lipstick and a balm....whatever it is it's fantastic........ I stick with neutral taupe/beige e/s and a smudged grey blue eye pencil, natura blush,l so this is a beautiful compliment to my look without BIG RED LIPS....lol I LOVE YOU POPPY KING!

Lip Treatments -Maybelline - Baby Lips lip balm
rated 4 of 5

Since I started working from home I use libalm constantly and I like this very much...I can't speak for the tinted ones but if they are as thin as the clear I would NOT like... I only buy this when I have a coupon so they cost me about $1.50.. I actually find this DOES soften my lips if I use multiple times a day, every day... Thin texture, slight lemon/vanilla taste.... Will continue to rebuy IF I have a coupon!

This has actually bumped Purity out of it's 10 year HG status for me.. Gentle, removes make-up well.nice foam and cheap...5.99 for 8.45oz! Good quality pump bottle Try this! If you don't like for face you can always use as a hand soap and reuse the bottle for something when it's empty

Treatments -Philosophy - Miracle Worker Retinoid Pads
rated 5 of 5
countrycats 10/11/2011 4:48:00 PM

I am similar to some other reviewers in the aspect that I noticed the difference these made AFTER I stoppped using them in the summer when I couldn't stand anything on my face at night when it's hot.. I definatly see smoother, more even toned skin when I use these,,,right now I am using every other night, and follow up in the a.m with the a.m formula ones (which you can also cut in half) I have these on a QVC AD,and will stay on it as long as they keep working the way they do! Just took off 1 lippie for the price...

Hair -C.O. Bigelow - Leave-In Conditioning Detangling Spray
rated 4 of 5
countrycats 6/19/2011 8:10:00 PM

I have fine hair, but lots of it and this actually works well for me... I agree with the other review, that the spray bottle squirts instead of spraying and I have tried transferring to 2 different bottles, but it does the same thing! So, I spray a bit in my hands, rub together and rub into my wet hair and comb through...thats fine,no real extra effort. My hair absorbs product like crazy,so I have to clarify at least once a week with anything I use,so thats ok too... All in all, good for me and will repurchase.... I think all leave in products are YRMV,so it may not work for all...will repurchase myself

Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - Whole Foods 365 - Fragrance Free Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
countrycats 3/17/2011 7:39:00 PM

I am reviewing this and the conditioner in this review...as I use them together My hair is fine, thick and VERY porous, and this combo is my HG! I use a tiny bit of protien spray to control static,so I lather twice, first time I just massage a bit of shampoo in hair and rinse, second time I give a good scrub...I use about a teaspoon of conditioner and comb thru with a a Tangle Tamer comb from Sallys, and let sit in hair for the 2 minutes it takes to use my Clarisonic. This never leaves my hair weighed down or absorbs so much it makes my ginger/blond hair look darker! This is 4.99USD per LITRE! There is no Whole Foods ANYWHERE near me so I bring back 2 Litres of each twice a year from NYC or Boston. I would not recommend this for processed or dry hair as I think it might be a bit drying

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple One-Step Facial Cleansing Cloths
rated 1 of 5
countrycats 11/27/2010 4:24:00 PM

These would never be something I could use without water....I don't know who formulated these thinking you could. Purity is my HG cleanser and these are about as far away as you can get from that!.. They didn't remove my waterproof mascara, and left my skin kinda stingy and red! I have been using them at night before I shower as a face makeup remover, after using a seperate eye makeup remover.. Too expensive for just a makeup wipe and useless as a one-step. Will not repurchase and do not recommend....try the Target version of Neutrogena wipes instead

Mascara -Bare Escentuals - Flawless Definition mascara
rated 5 of 5
countrycats 6/20/2010 3:52:00 PM

I have the worlds most difficult lashes....blonde and fine, and mascara either refuses to adhere to them or coats them in a thick, unnatural manner... I had been using Shu Basic, which I adore, but 1,its 28,00 a tube and 2,it's hard to find ..I used to stock up at Sephora 2x a year but they stopped carrying in-store and it was frequently OOS,and now I think only available at Shu online.... Anyway,I ordered a duo of this from QVC and It's my new HG...coats every lash,no smudging or flaking off the ends of my fine lashes, looks about as natural as mascara CAN look on blonde lashes..love the brush too. A tube is $18,but I went on AD w/QVC and it averages $15 a tube after s/h and tax....I am happy with that!

Powders -Smashbox - Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder
rated 5 of 5
countrycats 5/25/2010 5:39:00 PM

I was very intrigued by this put put off buying because of price..finally caved when QVC had a TSV that included this with a blush,lg,liner shadow, liner brush and a softlights.. I love this. Fair is a good match and i use over a TM or light foundation applied w/a sponge. I put some on a travel kabuki for my afternoon touch up. My TSV sends one every 3 months but I find this lasts me much longer than 3 months...I will be getting my fourth (and last)delivery soon and I am only on my second one..so I won't have to repurchase for quite a while, but I will. I use a BE Handy Buki or a Japonesque powder brush to apply, depending upon how much coverage I need.. Luckily,an Ulta opened near me so I can purchase it there and get my Ulta points...
