Polishes -Revlon - Devil's Lure - Masquerade Collection
rated 1 of 5
coramonster 5/14/2013 12:08:00 AM

I just took this off, I thought I'd review while I can remember what i think of it. I wear polish 24/7, I own brands from Chanel to Pure Ice. I like Revlon polishes usually, this one not so much. Color, it's a dark burgundy. Finish is kind of a crelly (cross between jelly and a cream) it's so dark it's hard to tell what color it is. The formula was thin but easy to work with. My mom told me it looked brown. It's not pretty, the biggest problem I had with it was it wouldn't dry. After 24 hours it was still dentable. I took it off and put it in my sell box.

Top/Base Coats -Orly - Bonder Rubberized Basecoat
rated 5 of 5
coramonster 4/12/2011 9:09:00 PM

I love bonder, before I started using this my nail polish would peel off in one sheet. Now it will stay on for at least 5-4 days. I'm a cashier and my hands take a beating everyday, bonder has been the only thing that kept my nail polish on. It does stain your nails yellow, but sense I keep them polished all the time that not really an issue for me. Lately I've been putting a treatment under the bonder, I wasn't sure this would work, but it does. The bonder still keeps my NP on, and my treatment seems too. I will keep buying this as long as they sell it.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Single in Brulee
rated 5 of 5
coramonster 8/8/2010 10:34:00 PM

This is a matte shadow, it's great for high lighting under my brow. It's a little bit lighter than my skin tone. It goes on very smooth and is wonderful for when I have a colorful or glittery look and just want a subtle highlight. I would buy this again and again and again. The package is annoying, the lid kind of sticks and is hard to open. I just depotted mine and put a magnet on the back, I stuck it and my other WNW shadows in an elf compact. It's dirt cheap at 1.99 and I got mine at a DS that was having a BOBO sale. You can't beat a dollar.

Eyes -E.L.F. - Mini Eyelash Curler
rated 5 of 5
coramonster 6/25/2010 8:37:00 PM

I love this lash curler. The mini is perfect for me. I have curly eyelashes, you might think that's so awesome, but no. They only curl on the outer edge of my eye, they curl so much they they actually touch my lid. It's annoying, especially because the rest of my eye lashes are stick straight. I have a pic of this in my profile, if you want to see what I'm talking about. A regular size curler doesn't work for me, the curly lashes at the outer edge of my eye don't need anymore curling and they don't go into the curler right so they end up all weirdly bent. So I use this curler on the straight eye lashes, it's perfect. I can get my lashes to at least all curl, so they kind of match, yay!

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - ColorIcon Palette in Lust [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
coramonster 6/20/2010 2:39:00 AM

I love this palette, beautiful colors in plums, pinks and smokey black. It has three matte shades, a lovely dark plum, a med purple that is my favorite and a peachy pink. It also has three shimmer colors, a shimmery black, a dark plum with purple shimmer and pale peachy glitter. The shadows are wonderfully soft and easy to apply, and they blend beautifully. They are so pigmented I am delighted with this palette, I'm considering getting a back up!

Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Exact Eyelights Quad - Green Eyes
rated 2 of 5
coramonster 6/20/2010 2:26:00 AM

This is the Cover Girl quad for green eyes. The colors are in shades of burgundies, plums and pinks. Every time I buy a Cover Girl eyeshadow I hope that the formula has improved. I was disappointed again. The colors are very sheer, and hard to blend. I should know better than to buy any more.

Eye Shadow -Coastal Scents - 88 colors warm palette
rated 5 of 5
coramonster 3/4/2010 7:22:00 PM

Got mine from ebay dirt cheap, and I love it! I use this one the most out of my eyeshadow palette, it's all lovely neutral shads, warm and cool browns, it has a nice dark matte black for smokey looks too and a ton of nice high lighter shades. I use a good primer and the colors last all day no creasing or fading. I love this one because I can do a dramatic smoky brown eye or just a natural light eye look. I had to glue a few of the shadows back into the palette they were lose when it arrived and one of the sliver ones was shattered, but I repressed it. That the only real problem I have with these 88 palettes, the shadows fall out, packaging quality is horrible. Over all if I ever run out of this thing I'd buy a new one.

Blush -E.L.F. - Studio Blush in Candid Coral
rated 5 of 5
coramonster 1/11/2010 12:56:00 PM

I was pleasantly surprised by this color. It looked like a really peachy coral color on the website. In person it's a little more on the pinky side and it looks good on my pale skin. It is a bit powdery, but I like to go lightly on blush anyway, so I just sweep my big face brush through it quickly and it picks up all the powderiness. The colors it's self last for 4-6 hours which for me is fine. I like to look natural only polished, and too much blush can stand out on fair skin. I like a lot of E.L.F. product and will buy from them again.

Powder -Bare Escentuals - Matte Foundation spf 15
rated 5 of 5
coramonster 1/11/2010 2:50:00 AM

I always wanted to try bare minerals. I never did though and for years, I've been trying cheaper versions of mineral make up and found that it was breaking me out. It was the bismuth oxchloride stuff in it. Bare minerals matte doesn't have the bismuth oxychloride, I know the regular formula has it in it though. The packaging on this is an improvement too, it's got a little cover inside you can close so the powder doesn't fly everywhere. I don't like liquid foundation, I'm very oily and it just slides right off my skin. The bare minerals is so good at controlling my oiliness. I use HD powder to set my under eye concealer and I put some on my oily t zone, then I put the bare minerals over. I like that there is no shimmer to this stuff, I've spent most of my life trying to keep my skin from looking shiny. I find that I can put this on in the morning, forget about it and when I get home at night it's still looks nice and natural. The only problem I have is my nose it gets shiny about 4-6 hours into the day, but with my oily skin that's some sort of miracle. I use the lightest color they make fair, and it's a really good match for my pale pale pale skin. I just wish it wasn't so expensive. I know, given the ingredients, it's not that expensive to produce. This drives me crazy about cosmetics in general, there really is no need for them to be so expensive. A lot of the time you are paying extra for a name. I bought mine at half price on ebay, came in the box and everything. If I find a deal on a lot of these on there I will stock up. It's $28, which to me is way to expensive for any cosmetic.

Cleansers -LUSH - Baby Face ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
coramonster 12/28/2009 7:15:00 PM

I love this, it's not soap and your not supposed to use it like soap. It smells kind of like oranges. It's a solid oil cleaner, it does take make up like nothing else I've ever used even olive oil. I just rub it directly onto my face, on my cheeks and spread it around. It will even take off my beauty tube mascara, with out water. You just tissue off the oil after. It dose leave an oily film on my skin but that's fine for me. I come home from work take off my make up, then before bed I'll use my toner and scrub, so the film really isn't an issue. It kind of keeps me moisturized. Over all I have bought it twice now and probably will again.

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Lemslip Buttercream
rated 5 of 5
coramonster 12/28/2009 7:04:00 PM

I love butter creams, they are quite soft and strange at first. Lemon slip is my favorite, it is so lemony and yummy smelling. I have no trouble with it not lathering, if you kind of mash it into your puff, (you know one of those net thingies we all use) it lathers up really well. It could be just a touch more moisturizing, but over all I love this stuff. I have just reordered, three more, it's really not very expensive for lush either.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara
rated 1 of 5
coramonster 12/24/2009 10:31:00 PM

Ug! I read all the reviews and bought it anyway. First, packaging, it's pink and green. Why? It looks like something for little kids, you know they play make up they sell in the toy department, next to the dress up clothes. Next, the brush is tiny. My lashes clumped together, I had a really bad case of spider lashes. Then it did what mascara always does to me! Smudge, smudge. Raccoon eyes! Bah! Bad stuff.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Double Extend Beauty Tubes Mascara in Black
rated 4 of 5
coramonster 12/14/2009 11:58:00 PM

This is NOT my favorite mascara. I hate the primer side, pointless I have long lashes anyway. It makes my lashes feel dry and hard. They feel heavy and don't curl well. But the absolute best reason for me to buy this mascara again and again is... it doesn't smudge at all, at all. Not at all! I have oily skin so most mascaras end up all over my face, especially if it's a hot day and I sweat at all, I have raccoon eye's. But not with this mascara. I like how it comes off, in tubes not messy at all. I don't like the primer so I don't use it, the few times I have used it, it took coats and coats of the mascara side to cover over the white, buy then I had four or five spiky lashes where they had clumped together. So I'm only using half the product. You only get a small amount of product in the tube too. If they sold it as just that mascara, I'd be happier. No not my favorite, but I will buy until there is alliterative.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HIP Color Rich Cream Crayon in Meticulous
rated 5 of 5
coramonster 12/9/2009 9:59:00 PM

I love this! I have used it under eyeshadow as a base, awesome. It doesn't crease, smudge or fade at all. I used it alone one day just on my lids because I had very little time to get ready, it was really good, lasted all day by it's self and the color stayed true. I have applied it both with my finger and right from the stick. They both work well, but when you use it on your finger work quickly, it sets really fast. I would love some more color choices in this, I have it in Meticulous. Authentic, and Unmistakable. They have a blue a green and a black too. I would really love a purple shade and a few more brow choices, but over all I love this product!

I'm sure this color will work for someone, but not for me it's purple. Not a good color for me.
