Though pricey, this gloss has saved me money now that I don't have to continue the costly search of finding the perfect pink. It goes on as a gloss, but functions more as a lip stain. I am brown skinned with golden undertones and the color shows up as a soft pink. I was afraid that it would be fuchsia, but fortunately it is not. I have at least a hundred lippies and glosses, so I won't wear this all the time and it will last for awhile. Will definitely repurchase.
i normally wears neutrals, berries and reds and was looking to add a pink lipstick to my collection. capricious caught my eye early on in my search, but i tried several others including plumful, lustering, syrup and sweetie. i will likely go back for sweetie. i chose capricious because it is incredibly flattering to my brown skin. it opens my face up. the color is a pink with plum in it on me. it has a subtle kick and doesn't scream "look i'm wearing pink lipstick!" which was my fear. if you're a brown skinned african american woman looking for a pink color, check out capricious. i will definitely repurchase. almost want to stock up!
This is a beautiful natural looking brown. It is not as dark on as it is in the tube. It blends well with my brown skin and mlbb. It's a very nice neutral. Definitely check this out; I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
i LOVE this red. it's perfect for spring. my only complaint is that it is terribly matte and dry. i remedy that by adding a coat of gloss on top and it's good to go. this works really well with my skin tone, which is a brown similar to gabrielle union.
fortunately, the color does not show up as horrid as it does in the tube. i was very nervous about purchasing this despite the many positive reviews. i am a brown skinned african american and too many coats of makes the color look horrid very quickly. i stick with one coat, well-blended and toned down with (blended) lip liner. kinda a lot of work....the color is fine (it's a nudish pink that's great for a natural/neutral look), so i won't repurchase when i run out. it is also a *tad* bit sticky, but not unbearable.
i wanted to like this product. with the change of seasons, my skin has been acting up and is incredibly dry. i bought this this morning and less than 24 hours after my first use, i have huge bump on my forehead above my eyebrow. i rarely, if ever, break out so i know cerave hydrating cleanser is the culprit. i'm really pissed that this made me break out and i'm not sure that i can take it back to rite aid. the search continues. you couldn' t pay me to repurchase or use it again.
Hair -Aubrey Organics - Rosa Mosqueta shampoo and conditioner
complexsimplicity 10/11/2010 5:28:00 AM
this is hands down the best conditioner i've ever used. it leaves my hair very moisturized and makes detangling a dream *because* i have no tangles! a-mazing (for me)! i have been absolutely amazed by this product. rosa mosqueta is the real deal. it doesn't fake you out in the shower by making your hair feel great and then when you rinse out or blow dry it disappears. for reference, i am 4b relaxed and am 7 weeks post relaxer. i will repost about the results at 11 weeks post. i think i have a winner on my hands! definitely an expensive conditioner, but with these results i will gladly hand over my money! hope that it works out for you too:) this review is for the conditioner only. i didn't use the shampoo because i couldn't be happier with my current shampoo - abba pure moisture. we've been together for 2 years and i'm so satisfied that i have zero interest in testing another shampoo. before this conditioner, ao honeysuckle rose was my HG and go-to, but it's been replaced with the rosa mosqueta now. the consistency of the rosa mosqueta is thick but is creamier than hsr so it comes out of the bottle with more ease.
i recently rediscovered this color. on my brown skin, it is a beautiful neutral with hints of bronze. unfortunately, mac is discontinuing the slimshines so i am going to stock up!
Treatments -Neutrogena - Ageless Intensives Deep Wrinkle Serum

i have been using this product for almost two months and i love it. my skin is dry and clear. however, this product gives me *perfect* skin. my skin tone appears more even and it's super smooth. i find myself touching my face just to feel my fingers glide across it, lol. as for wrinkles, i'm in my early 30s and don't really have it. however, there is a slight furrow in my brows from frowning and it has faded significantly. i can only see it if i really look for it. the serum is light and absorbs into the skin very quickly. this product is well worth it's price and it is a HG product for me.
i bought by default. it came in a set with joico kpak reconstructor - the protein treatment. i love it! it has left my hair so soft and moisturized! i don't moisturize as often as i typically do. my hair is bsb relaxed and tends to be dry. this is the first conditioner that i've used that has kept my hair moisturized between washes. it is definitely worth the money. i have found my hg conditioner. sorry, ao honeysuckle rose. the only downside is that it contains lanolin, which isn't that great. i will keep using it to see if it is negatively impacting my hair. if so, then i'll hook back up with honeysuckle rose!
Lipstick -Victoria's Secret - Very Sexy Perfect Lipstick in Stiletto

it took awhile for me to realize how much i love this lipstick. the color is quite striking in the tube. it's a deep red with hints of wine. the consistency of the lipstick is creamy, moisturizing and perfect! also, very long lasting. i am a brown skinned african american and this color shows up as a deep red with hints of wine. the color is very vibrant. i was wearing a lot of neutrals and glosses before purchasing this and the color shocked me. i've gotten back in the habit of wearing red and it's just fine. perfecto. definitely worth checking out!
Lipstick -Prescriptives - lavish lipstick - extravagant
complexsimplicity 4/28/2010 8:29:00 PM
the perfect blue red. unfortunately, it was discontinued long before prescriptives went out of business. it's not matte, but not gloss. it was perfect. i'm actually going to have it custom made. it's that perfect.
Eye Makeup Remover -L'Oreal - Refreshing Eye Make Up Remover
complexsimplicity 2/4/2010 9:41:00 PM
i really wish i'd read the reviews first. this is the worst makeup remover i've ever tried. it removes nothing..NOTHING without tugging and lots of product and even then it's a struggle. it also stings. um, why does an EYE makeup remover STING the eyes? seriously, l'oreal! save your money.
HG status. i love this eyeliner and i have been through a lot. in my experience, it does not smudge or flake at all. once you put it on, it stays there until you remove it. i love the applicator because it enables me to draw a very thin line above my upper lashes. the black color isn't a matte and is a little shiny, but it's hardly noticeable. also, i'm not pro at applying eyeliner and this makes it a breeze. i'm so happy i found this!
Treatments -Joico - k-pak deep penetrating reconstructor

i was having problems with breakage and had tried aubrey organics gpb conditioner without success. i noticed a difference the first time i used this - it stopped my breakage in it's tracks. it's significantly less than it was and i'm sure that it will continue with each use. be sure to deep condition after using it. for reference, my hair is relaxed. would definitely recommend even thought it's kinda pricey. well worth it. my only beef is that it contains mineral oil, but i'm willing to overlook that...
