Concealers -Laura Mercier - Secret Concealer

This is one of my top 3 undereyes concealers. I used to like Benefit Erase Paste but it would melt away through the hot summer days. Plus, Laura Mercier's color range is better than Erase Paste. This concealer stays surprisingly well in 100F weather. The staying power is great, lasts 6 to 8 hours when you set it with translucent powder. The concealer is creamy and blends easily. You only need a little bit to cover dark circles. It provides a heavy coverage but not does not have a "thick" feeling. I have a relatively dry eye area but this does not cake up or shows fine lines like Bobbi Brown concealer and corrector.

Brows -BeneFit Cosmetics - Speed Brow

It is expensive for such a small tube ($16). But it keeps my unruly brows in place and gives it definition. The packaging is small so it is very convenient to carry around. It did not flake or "hardened" like Revlon Brow Fantasy. Very easy to use.

Lipstick -NARS - Lipstick in Dolce Vita

Love this lipstick. It's creamy and very moisturizing. It leaves a light sheen on the lips. It's not very pigmented and has a more sheer formula. It brightens up my lips with a pinkish-brown color. The staying power is not that great, about 2-3 hours. But I absolutely love how it feels on my lips.

Blush -NYX - pinched

The packaging is very cheap. It seems like it would break if I drop it lightly. It's a dupe of Nars Orgasm but not as peachy and shimmery. This blush is great for everyday use. It's not very pigmented so it takes two strokes before the color shows up on my NC 30 skin. The staying power is decent. 3-5 hours depending on the weather. Overall, this blush is good for its price.

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Mascara

Since the brush is so big, I find that it takes time to coat my short and sparse eyelashes. During mascara application, I have to be careful, or else it would get on my eyelids. Does it do what it claims to do? It does nothing for volume. I did not see any significant definition and lengthening effect. Covergirl Exact works better in defining and lengthening my lashes than Dior Show. Plus, it is half the price. One thing I have to point out is the scent. How should I describe it? Like old makeup? That is not a good thing for a high-end makeup brand.

The best eyeliner I've used! I've been on a search that does not smudge on my oily lids. Tried many eyeliners and they've also smudged - MAC Fluidline, Urban Decay 24/7, Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner Pencil, Sephora eyeliner pencil, Stila Kajal eyeliners and many more. This stays on my upper lids and waterline all day. The stiff and very fine felt tip can be used to draw fine lines and also dramatic eye makeup. It's not waterproof but sweat-proof, and does not smudge on my oily lids. It tries quickly after application, so no worries about accidental smudges. Love the color. It's not intense black but the pigment is buildable. It can be removed with warm water and facial wash, or eye make-up remover. Makes me love eyeliner. Worth the US$16

Blush -NARS - The Multiple in Portofino

I like the coral(peach) color. Even though the shimmer looks intimidating, it looks very natural on my NC-30 skin. The lasting powder is not as long and it fades mid-day. The only disappointment I have is that it caused my cheeks area to have some have kind of break outs. I tried it out for a week, and I would have new breakouts everyday. This has never happened with any other cream or powder blush.

Masks -My Beauty Diary - Red Wine Mask

Smells like wine or grape juice. For me, the scent is bearable. As with other My Beauty Diary Sheet Mask, it is soaked with essence. It does have some moisturizing properties, but it does not have any brightening effect. I did notice a slight tingling feeling during use. Not my favourite out of My Beauty Diary collection.

This really tightens and firms the skin, after only one use. My skin feels refresh after a long day. It does not have as much moisturizing properties. I also did not see any difference in whitening or evening out skintone.

Brows -Revlon - Brow Fantasy

I like the pencil. The color is natural for my NC30 skin tone. The gel end is easy to use and tames my eyebrows. However, I found that the gel "flakes" after a few hours. Maybe I am using too much gel? But this doesn't happen when I use clear mascara.

Ulta was having an offer. All Bourjois products were going for $4.99. What a good deal. It is a brownish-pink gloss that is not too sticky. From the packaging, it looks like it has shimmers but when you apply it, you can't see it. For reference, I am NC#30 and this gloss is the perfect nude lip for me. At first, I thought it would be too brown, but when on the lip it's more nude-rose. The staying power is not that great and it will wear off when eating or drinking, but I don't mind it at all. It has a yummy vanilla/cherry smell, and tastes delicious. The other great thing about this lip gloss is the applicator. I seldom see this brush-like applicator with lip glosses. The brush is small and stiff so it dispenses the right amount of gloss. The brush glides on easily and applies the gloss evenly. One coat is enough for each lip. Love it! I'm going to keep using it for a long time..
