Deodorants -Trader Joe's - Unscented Deodorant with Cotton

I had high hopes, but alas, this was like wearing nothing. It didn't stop me from sweating (which I didn't expect) and it didn't do anything at all for absorbing wetness or BO. A pretty useless product in my experience. Too bad.
Conditioner -Trader Joe's - Refresh Citrus Conditioner

I agree with the reviewer above: nice scent, but really made my hair tangly. The TJ's conditioner in the purple bottle (Herbal?) is much better.
Lotions/ Creams -Olay - Moisturinse in shower body lotion-extra dry skin
coleslaw 7/19/2004 10:11:00 AM
Pointless. Didn't contribute anything above and beyond my Shikai body wash. Waste of money (and time - it's time consuming in the shower - who needs that extra step??)
I'm the odd gal out here, unfortunately. I *really* wantd to like this, but was disappointed. I liked the scent well enough (Pumpkin Pie Cupcakes) which was very strong & *very* lasting, but the consistency seemed mediocre at best (oily pool of sugar grains left at the end) as compared to my BBB&B Creamy Dreamy Sugar scrub. Also seemed less of a value, actually. CS, however, seemed *excellent.* I think I'll be sticking with BBB&B's scrubs, however.
Lotions/ Creams -Scentual Pleasures - NEW Whipped Shea Butter Cream/Butter
coleslaw 2/5/2004 4:48:00 PM
Liked this, but didn't love it. Thick & very moisturizing, non-greasy, but I was very disappointed in the scent: Satin Sheets. Smelled a bit plasticky & fake, and very baby-powdery (no hint of any white or milk chocolate to my nose, just full on baby powder). Would not repurchase, unless I knew I'd getting a really great scent. CS seemed great though.

Did little for my hair, except maybe dry it out and make it reek of this super-strong soapy fragrance. There are much better choices out there.
Conditioner -L'Oreal - Nature's Therapy Mega Moisture Nurturing Creme
coleslaw 1/19/2004 7:26:00 PM
Seriously, this might be the best conditioner I've ever used. My hair looks so shiny & healthy after I've used it. It's amazing that this can be so conditioning without weighing down my hair (long, curly, and dry). As other reviewers have noted, the tub is a minor bummer, as is (for me) the strong Jolly Rancher Green Apple scent. Definite repurchase.
I tried the Sandalwood & Amber. The scent is terrific, and its natural ingredients are appealing, but I didn't find it moisturizing at all. Maybe just not drying. I've determined that I prefer cream-based body washes, rather than shower gels, so I would not repurchase.
Gels/Soaps -Dove - Moisturizing Body Wash - "Deep Moisture"
coleslaw 1/19/2004 6:44:00 PM
Probably the best bodywash I've ever used (though I have yet to try the much-touted Aveeno). It leaves my skin very moist & soft - it's much more moisturizing than the highly-rated Shi Kai. The soapy scent is light & benign. Definite repurchase.
Shampoo -Beyond The Zone - Strip Search Gunk Removal Hemp Shampoo
coleslaw 1/19/2004 6:33:00 PM
I don't generally use clarifying shampoos, so maybe it's *supposed* to make your hair feel like this, but it made my hair feel kind of rough & tangly. I have dry, colored, curly hair, and I think my hair needs something gentler. This seemed to harsh for my hair, even for weekly use. I could see this shampoo being good for someone w. short hair who uses a lot of gunk in their hair.
Treatments -Olay - Regenerist Daily Regenerating Serum
coleslaw 1/7/2004 6:10:00 PM
So disappointed! I got little tiny bumps from using this product in places where I NEVER break-out, like under my eyes! I guess I'm allergic. Too bad, because I very rarely get a reaction like that.
Lip Treatments -Brown Bag Bath & Beauty - Lip Balm
coleslaw 1/5/2004 9:58:00 PM
Unfortunately, I can't add to the raves on this one. I really loved the rest of my BBB&B order, but the Lip Balm was a disappointment. Didn't do much to moiusturize my lips & the scent (apricots & cream), though light, smelled a little plasticky & fake. I kept reapplying it, thinking it would eventually get my lips really moist. It didn't. I will stick to Paula's Choice or Palmers Cocoa Butter. But for $1.50, I have no complaints!
Scrubs -Brown Bag Bath & Beauty - Creamy Dreamy Brown Sugar Body Scrub
coleslaw 1/5/2004 9:29:00 PM
2nd tnfrench! This is a terrific scrub. While perhaps less moisturizing than some of the more oil-intensive scrubs, it is completely non-greasy. I just love it & will Definitely repurchase. I tried this in 2 scents: GINGERBREAD: a true, gingerbread scent that was less sweet than I had expected (think gingerbread without any icing). SPICY LIME: This was a surprise! I had buyer's remorse after selecting this scent, second-guessing my selection. But it turned out to be my favorite scent of my entire order! Zesty, juicy lime embraced by nutmeg & clove. A definite reorder!
Lotions/ Creams -Brown Bag Bath & Beauty - Head to Heel Body Spread
coleslaw 1/5/2004 9:22:00 PM
Very moisturizing & thick. If you have super dry skin & prefer something very thick, this is for you! I prefer a texture with more "slip," but it will be great for my elbows, heels, etc. & the price is great, so I'm giving 5 lippies. I tried this in 2 scents: MARZIPAN: smells like that hard, white nougatty almond candy. Very true; perhaps a little candy sweet for my tastes. The drydown was warm, sweet, & lovely. SEXY SAKE: This is a really haunting & beautiful fragrance. Sort of like a sophisticated Gingerale to my nose. Maybe a bit like green tea + giner ale? I will buy this scent again!
At first it smelled very resinous and then POW! an overwhelming assault of powder. Smelled more powdery than powder itself! Couldn't remember what it reminded me of and then it came to me: Chantilly (by Coty?) from years ago! Blech!
