I just got this from my mom. Someone bought her a gift set with the lotion, shower gel, hand cream, and the perfume. She thought I'd like it and if not she would keep it. I don't like the bottle and it was so hard to get it out of the packaging. I thought with it being so dark it would smell awful. I am not big on perfumes that aren't fruity and very sugary. I just can't stand floral or "grown up" scents, they make me feel sick. So I smelled this out of the bottle and it was not good. I thought I would absolutely not like it but I sprayed it on once anyway. After a few minutes it totally transformed into this soft, fruity, woodsy, vanilla scent that's wonderful IMO. I have been looking for a perfume that smells similar to this. It lasts as well and I smell it on myself which is great cuz I really like it. Idk if I would purchase the full bottle because there are so many other perfumes I would like to try but I would recommend it.

Shampoo -Paul Mitchell - Super Strong daily shampoo
rated 5 of 5
cocofern 6/22/2012 8:14:00 AM

I bought this on a whim recently at Ulta. My blowdryer died so I went to get a new one and was also running out of shampoo so I decided to try something new. My hair is overprocessed and was starting to look severely damaged and was breaking off (the breaking off was due to the old blowdryer). I saw this and picked it up because it wasn't overly expensive ($10) and I have never tried a Paul Mitchell shampoo. So glad I did because I was pleasantly surprised. It smells really good and is clear. A small amount goes a long way and I am typically one of those people who likes to use nearly a handful of shampoo because my hair is really thick. I only used about quarter size amount and it lathered really well, left my hair feeling light and voluminous and smelled so good! It's been 2 days since I washed my hair and my hair still looks and feels clean and soft. Usually in such high heat and humidity (it's been nearly 100 degrees in the past few days) my hair dries up and kinks really badly. My hair is still straight and looks clean and much healthier. I feel like this product is going to save me from having to use the flatiron as much - so less damage! Great product so far. I will definitely repurchase as long as nothing changes.

Lip Gloss -Wet 'n' Wild - Juicy Balm (general)
rated 1 of 5
cocofern 6/1/2012 9:24:00 AM

These stand out a lot in the makeup display at the store which is the only reason I got one. They're big and bright colors - plus only a few $ so not a huge loss. I couldn't pick between Strawberry and Raspberry, but since I was wearing a raspberry colored top I went with that one. The tube is big and there is a lot of product. I really like that it's pigmented but not too much like lipstick. It makes my lips look soft and shiny. The flavor, on the other hand, is downright disgusting. It tastes like chemicals and it lingers in your mouth for hours. Nasty. This product also dries out my lips a little bit because it's waxy and feels that way on the lips. Doesn't smell like raspberry either so I was really disappointed. Will not repurchase.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Nail Magic
rated 5 of 5

I can honestly say that this is the only product that has every worked for my nails; it is also one of VERY few products that I will continue to repurchase. This product is amazing. My nails are really weak; they always chip, peel, break off - especially if I use nail polish. I have not had long nails in years since I always have to cut them almost as short as possible without experiencing discomfort. I have tried probably a dozen of products (mostly Sally Hansen hardeners) but none worked at all. I saw good reviews for this so I decided to give it a try mostly because of the color. Soooo glad that I bought it because this really works! I typically use it by itself according to directions - two thin coats and change it every few days after it starts to peel. I also use it as a base coat because it dries so quick. It makes my nails super shiny and the color is beautiful on the nail. I've used it for about two weeks and my nails are growing! I haven't cut them in nearly a week and it's awesome to see them grow; no chipping or breakage so far. I think I will reduce to using this once a week from now on just so my nails don't become too thick and strong to the point of breakage. Best product ever. Definitely worth the money and it only cost $5.99!

Mascara -Maybelline - Illegal Length Fiber Extensions
rated 5 of 5
cocofern 2/23/2012 10:19:00 PM

This product is really great and does exactly what it claims. I thought about purchasing it before but wanted to wait till I read reviews. I finally got it the other day and used it today for the first time. I was surprised at how light the packaging is, feels like it's empty, but I guess it's just really light plastic. I really love the wand because it's long and the bristles are spaced out so you can brush out lashes really nicely. I got this mascara in black-brown, which is just a really dark brown. It lengthens really well. I used it with a primer and just one coat gave me longer lashes than anything else. I seriously felt like they were almost touching my eyebrows. I am impressed that this product performs so well yet it wasn't super expensive. I wish it thickened lashes though because it adds very little volume, which is why I almost always use multiple mascara types at once. Anyway, I really like this and will probably repurchase.

Polishes -Sinful - Dream On
rated 5 of 5
cocofern 2/16/2012 8:50:00 AM

This polish is so freakin' underrated. I don't get why so many people had such bad experiences. I picked this u randomly at Meijer the other day because they had a bunch of it on clearance... I got this for like $2 and it looks so bright and amazing in the bottle. It's extremely bright fuchsia/purple; it tends to change color though. I showed it to my s/o inside and he thought it was a bright fuchsia. Then later outside he commented on how my nails changed and were more purple - they were. I absolutely love that. It's true that just one coat is very streaky and won't do it. Two coats was perfect for me. It came out even, bright, and creamy. It doesn't dry shiny or matte - it's kind of in between. I put on a top coat and it looks even better... I feel like I have bright Barbie nails. This color is gorgeous!! I really wish I bought more since they had other colors on clearance :(. I'll check back next time.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear in Rockstar Pink
rated 5 of 5
cocofern 2/10/2012 7:52:00 AM

I am so glad I accidentally stumbled upon this at Meijer the other day. They had a lot of polish on clearance for $2.50 so I picked up a couple. I debated between getting this one and Strobe Light but this one stood out more. It's a mixture of magenta and blue glitters and sooo beautiful. After reading a few reviews that said that the formula is thin and needs more than a couple of coats, I decided to apply this polish over another one. I also ended up getting a bright purple, semi-matte polish, so I applied a coat of that and than a coat of Rockstar Pink over it. The color was very opaque after just those two coats. I've had it on for two days and sadly there are a few small chips. I typically get chips on my index fingernails first, and this time it's the same but they're so small that it doesn't matter. This polish has definitely inspired me to buy more glitters and hopefully next time I can find Strobe Light to try as well.

Fragrances -Aquolina - Pink Sugar
rated 5 of 5
cocofern 2/10/2012 7:45:00 AM

UPDATE: I just had to add that I love this perfume more and more everyday. In fact, I miss it on days I don't wear it lol. I usually apply it in the morning before work (at like 5am) and I STILL smell it by the time I go to bed. It's ridiculously awesome and strange that I can smell it on myself when typically I get used to a scent within a day and don't smell it anymore later on. This is perfection and next time I am getting the biggest bottle they have. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I adore sugary sweet scents so after I found out about this perfume I had to try it. I looked for it at a few different stores but didn't find it. I finally went to Sephora yesterday and finally got to try it. I am not good at figuring out notes in scents and whatnot, but I like this one because it's so sweet and not at all floral. It smells like mountains of candy and cake basically lol. I was going to purchase the small $18 roll-on version... but it did not smell the same to me, and the one with glitter was straight up gross - it smelled like really old candy. I went ahead and purchased the 1oz for $30. I am sure I will end up repurchasing this one. Oh, and the packaging is adorable!

Mascara -Rimmel - Scandal Eyes
rated 3 of 5
cocofern 1/24/2012 7:04:00 AM

I got this in extreme black but I wanted it in brown. I mostly got it because of the packaging - huge orange tube. The formula is really wet and the wand is a bit too large. It's important to be really careful when applying or else it ends up all over the lids. It thicken and lengthens well but I think it will work better after it dries up a bit. It's not amazing so I would not repurchase.

Treatments -Paula's Choice - RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment
rated 4 of 5
cocofern 1/9/2012 10:04:00 PM

WARNING: Do NOT use this product more than once per week or during the week/before important events. I recently purchased this because I like PC products and this one gets such great reviews that I had to try it myself. The first couple of times I used it I didn't see much of a difference; my skin looked a little bit different but nothing significant. I used it again last night, left it on over night (should not have done that, I should have washed it off). I didn't think much of it this morning when I applied foundation before going to work. After I looked closely in the mirror I was surprised to find that my cheeks and nose were really flaky. I immediately washed all the foundation off, scrubbed my face with Queen Helene scrub and thought I was all good. I applied a moisturizer the second time around prior to applying my foundation again. There was still a little bit of peeling around my nose but I didn't think it was a big deal. After being at work for 9 hours (I didn't check in the mirror once) I came home and was horrified. The entire area around my nose, cheeks, and lips was ALL FLAKES! I really, really hope that no one at work noticed because I looked like a freak, and it accentuated fine lines around my lips terribly. Nasty. I washed my face again tonight and used the same QH scrub (gently) and applied a moisturizer. I am really hoping that my skin will be less flaky tomorrow. I can tell that this product works because it literally peeled off the very top layer of my skin revealing nice, soft and smooth skin underneath. But holy cow, I am never using this again on days I have to wear foundation (to work or out). It's a good product but definitely something that should be used sparingly. I am not sure whether or not I will repurchase at this point. I will wait to see long term results. This is very powerful stuff and I imagine does good things if used correctly.

Hair Styling Tools -Unlisted Brand - Le Angelique Sahara
rated 1 of 5
cocofern 1/8/2012 11:45:00 AM

Horrible blowdryer for so many reasons. When I first bought it I really like it. I got it on Hautelook for $20 (I guess normally it's $60). This product died last than a year after I bought it and that's kind of a good thing. After about 3 months of using it I noticed that my hair was breaking off really bad in the back mostly (eventually it was all around my head). I wasn't sure why and can only think that this hair dryer caused it since I wasn't doing anything else different to my hair and I wasn't using any new products that would cause breakage. I had to cut off at least 3" of my hair and it's still weird in the back :(. This dryer worked fine until a few days ago when I had it on high and I know that sometimes it can overheat and will switch back to the lower setting on its own. Well, it did that so I turned it off for a few minutes. I tried turning it back on but it was working very slowly. The high setting was now changed to low and low was ultra low - and it wouldn't get warm anymore and it became unusable. I would not recommend this dryer to anyone.

Lip Treatments -Nivea - A Kiss of Moisture
rated 5 of 5
cocofern 1/8/2012 11:14:00 AM

My lips have been so dry and cracked around the edges recently due to weather changes. I tried the Blistex Restore/Revive product, which was the biggest waste ever. Luckily it was less than $2 so I didn't feel too bad about wasting money on it. I typically only use lip gloss everyday, but those do not protect or treat lips in any way whatsoever. I even tried using Vaseline in hopes that it would help because I've always had good exeriences with Vaseline in the past, in this case it did not help at all. I finally went to the store yesterday to find something else that would heal my lips. I found this product on sale for about $3 so I purchased it. I like Nivea product and this one gets relatively positive reviews so I got it. I love the packaging - it's light blue and really cute. The stick itself is solid white and applies on creamy. I noticed a difference in my lips within hours of using it. I applied it on last night and this morning my lips already look and feel so much better. This product works fast and feels so nice on my lips. I am glad I decided to try it because it works. It's saved my lips and I will continue using it. I will probably repurchase it in other colors/flavors just to try.

Styling Products -Redken - Rewind styling paste
rated 4 of 5
cocofern 1/7/2012 8:24:00 PM

I have never heard of this product till recently when my sister gave me a tub for free. I wasn't going to use it initially... I was going to pass it onto s/o because it seems like something that would only work on short hair. I have long hair that's overprocessed and fragile. I decided to look this up anyway and found a lot of positive reviews from people with all different hair lengths. I decided to give it a try recently and am glad that I did. It is a blue-ish balm that is very tracky and gooey but smells quite pleasant. I apply it to my hair ONLY while it's wet, I can't imagine using it on dry hair because it would probably cause more harm than good. I use about a nickle size amount after washing my hair, comb out, and than blow dry. It gives my hair just a little bit of texture but nothing extreme. My hair still remains very soft and manageable after it is dry. I really like it and will continue using it though I will not pruchase because this is something that I can definitely live without. Not sure how much it costs but I imagine it isn't cheap.

Conditioner -Unlisted Brand - Generic Value Products GVP Conditioning Balm
rated 1 of 5
cocofern 1/7/2012 8:18:00 PM

I had very high hopes for this product as it got great reviews everywhere I looked. I have never tried the original version of this but I always have high hopes for GVP products because ingredients are exactly the same as the original. When I first tried this product I was impressed by the thickness. It is soooo thick and balmy that it is extremely hard to get out of the bottle; this, imo, istypically a good sign. I have never used a thick, creamy conditioner that didn't do something special for my hair. This product, however, did not perform like expected. It is thick, like a cream, so it moisturizes hair well initially while my hair is wet. My hair felt really nice and silky while wet and I could comb through very easily (which is impossible for me to do without any conditioning product in my hair). After using this for a few months I have realized that it just does not work for me at all. It performs as well as any other cheap, thin conditioner (think Suave, which is a brand I do not use anymore as it does not do anything for me). You would think that such thick balm would make hair extra soft and shiny... it doesn't. I don't know how comparable it is in performance to the original but I definitely will not repurchase. They also really need to reconsider the packaging and put it in a pump bottle because it is a pain in the azz to get out, especially when you're hands are wet and slippery in the shower. Also, the label letters started coming off so at one point my hands were covered in little black specks... that bothers me immensely because I have platinum blonde hair and I wouldn't want tiny black specks all over my hair/scalp.

Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - Generic Value Products Volumizing Shampoo (Compare to Matrix Amplify)
rated 1 of 5
cocofern 1/7/2012 8:08:00 PM

I don't know what happened here, but I could swear that the last time I checked out this product on MUA there were a lot more reviews for this shampoo, which is why I pruchased it in the first place. I have overprocessedy yet thick hair, but since I bleach it so much the strands have got a lot thinner. Depletion of pigment has turned my extremely thick hair into something average and limp. I decided to try this product because it is cheap, supposedly as good as the original (which I have never tried) and available at Sally's where I shop frequently, so I decided to give it a try. The shampoo is blue-ish clear in color (kind of like hair gel), with a clean scent. It lathers up nicely and cleanses hair well. I wanted a product that wouldn't weight my hair down and didn't have a ton of silicones. This seemed like a good idea and I figured for around $5 it wouldn't hurt to try. I have been using it for a few months and have not noticed a difference in volume at all. This product claims to work best if used regularly, which I did for a while (I now rotate it with other shampoos and get much better results). It does not volumize at all imo. It is just a basic shampoo like anything else cheap you can get at the drug store. I was not impressed by any means and definitely will not repurchase because it does not do what it claims at all.
