Concealers -Cinema Secrets - Foundation/concealer
cma777 8/8/2005 11:33:00 PM
I can't believe it! I actually sell this product to my clients because I love ...no adore it so much! And I have not reviewed it till now!! I am a makeup artist and of all the different types of foundations I have tried personally and professionally this one is the creme de la creme! literally :) the application is gorgeous and the fact that it is so highly pigmented means you use so little! When it is applied correctly (using the moisture spray since this is water based) You cannot even tell that you have anything on. For reference I use 305-72 and I am a C35 in MAC. The cost is so worth it too the larger .5 oz size will last you a year with daily applications. Rave rave rave!

Tools -Wet 'n' Wild - Mini Eyelash Curler
cma777 8/8/2005 11:15:00 PM
OMG!!! I can't believe this little wonder! It's a tiny sliver (plastic) eyelash curler that works wonderfully. I bought it at Walmart for 1.49 (CAD) so CHEAP!! I am assuming it won't last long but hey who cares at that price! It even has an extra rubber pad at the bottom of the culer. Love this little gadget and I hope it keeps working for awhile. will update if anything changes. I think this is the same type of curler that Sephora has too. Update: August 14th, 2005 I used this eyelash curler for an evening out with my MAX FACTOR 2000 calorie and it worked like magic! I looked at my eyes at 2 am and my lashes still looked fabulously curled! RAVE!

Blush -NARS - Crazed
cma777 8/8/2005 11:11:00 PM
Wow is this ever pigmented! It's insanely....well "crazed"!! I have to use my MAC stippling (skunk) brush to work with this. Any other method and I end up looking like a clown that's high. This is the most beautiful color though. deep berry flush with glitter chunks (they don't pick up on my brush though) I stared at it for sooo long in the sephora store trying to figure out if I would ever be able to find a tamer alternative. Obviously I decided there is no alternative. This is a beautiful blush that lasts forever on my cheeks, love it. But I don't use it often.

Blush -MAC - Cheekhue in Rythmic
cma777 8/5/2005 10:35:00 PM
I have been on the hunt for the perfect blush that would stya on my cheeks for longer then 1 hour (preferably 10 hrs) and I think I may have finally found it!! I said this before and I will say it again...I always come back to MAC! This colour gives me the perfect everyday flush that I was looking for and if I add MAC Mocha on top I get a perfect POP of colour for the evenings...I sometimes use NARS Mata Hari on top to add brightness instead. I have found my HG blushes yay!!

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blitz and Glitz
cma777 8/5/2005 10:32:00 PM
Love this colour. Black with some tiny gold flecks. It is not a true black but I actually like it for everyday use on my eyes it makes them look softer then true black would but still shows up more then a brown eyeliner. Fluidlines are my HG eyeliner! So is Kryolan aqua shadow in BLACK now there is a TRUE black!

Highlighters -NARS - The Multiple in Copacabana
cma777 8/5/2005 10:29:00 PM
Ok so i caved and bought the sought after Copacabana everyone keeps "gleaming" about. It is definitely pretty but I don' consider this a true multiple since I can only use it on my cheekbones and browbone. Also, I do find it makes me look greasy if I am not careful with the application. You do get _alot_ of product for the price so I may never buy this again because it should last and last and last. That being said, I found the perfect alternative to this product at a _fraction_ of the price. WnW All Over Shimmer, ladies it is the perfect match to copacabana! I put both on the back of my hand and found the WnW to be warmer looking on my skin (MAC C35 for reference). I also prefer the silky powder of WnW to the oily stick of the mulitple....I will consider swapping this one away it seams.

Foundations -La Mer - the SPF Fluid Tint
cma777 6/22/2005 11:21:00 AM
Just a note ladies, If you are using this as a sunscreen protector. Judging from the ingredient list that the other MUA'r has on here there is no sunscreen protection. The ingredient list must have Titanium Dioxide, or Parsol in it's active ingredient list in order to be an effective sunscreen. (there are a couple of other ingredients that comply as well but I can't remember them at thte moment.) Since the few of you on here are fair I would highly recommened that you check out this website. www.cosmeticscop.com and look under sun protection. The website is by Paula Begoun and she does a great job of telling it like it is in the cosmetics industry. (I am in no way associated with the website or company just a concerned citizen ;) EDIT: Well thanks to a smart MUA'r I take that back, Avobenzone is an accepted protector against UVA and UVB. However the other active ingredients in this product only protect the skin from 20% of the suns damaging rays while AVOBENZONE (chemical), Titanium dioxide, zinc oxide (non-chemical) protect against 80%. Thank you for clearing me up on that LuckyRedLisa :) Cheers!

Foundations -Maybelline - Dream Matte Mousse
cma777 10/15/2004 11:01:00 PM
Got this in a swap just the other day. The colour was a perfect match for my c35 skintone, I got Pure Beige. It has a really nice finish especially since I tried it with my MAC foundation brush and that gave it a beautiful airbrushed quality. I loved Great Wear and was disappointed when they discontinued it. I think this may replace it well. I am not keen on the packaging for obvious hygienic reasons and the quantity isn't fabulous but since i switch b/w my foundations this jar should last for awhile. I took one lippie off because I find it does feel a little heavy on the skin but for the fall/winter that should be alright. Wouldn't like it in summer though. It did stay very matte for over 6 hours which is a plus. I only needed to use a tissue to dab at the excess oil and get the matte look back once. Update: August 14th 2005, I can't get used to the heavy texture of this stuff, Cinema Secrets is my HG foundation so that settles that one :)

Eye Shadow -Ben Nye - Lumiere Grande Colour-Golden Apricot
cma777 10/15/2004 4:16:00 PM
What a great colour! I love this stuff. I just got Nars Orgasm and I am thinking this may be better for me than the NARS??? wow who'd a thunk it? Great staying power. slightly more peachy golden than Orgasm though but that works for me. I will try it with a wet sponge next time :)

Concealers -Ben Nye - Mellow Yellow concealer
cma777 10/15/2004 4:01:00 PM
I use this instead of Benefit Lemon Aid and it works very well for my C35 skintone. I line under my brows and blend well. It really makes me look fresh and awake. great stuff and cost less the Lemon aid.

Conditioner -LUSH - Retread
cma777 10/13/2004 3:05:00 PM
ok so I got a sample of this from LUSH when I purchased Dream Cream (which I am loving!) My hair is thick, wavy, coarse and super dry right now because I am pregnant with my second child. The girl working there told me to use it this way: On days you shampoo use it like a normal conditioner and rinse out, on days you are just wetting your hair put a good amount of retread in your hair from the ponytail to the ends. Avoid the roots or it will be too greasy. Leave it in and style your hair as usual. Ok so I tried it the leave in way today so that it is really soaked in well. So far (hair is still a little damp) it seems to be helping. My hair isn't nearly as frizzy as it usually is and it feels much softer. I am hoping that it won't feel totally weighed down once it is totally dry but we shall see. Will update when my sample runs out and I buy some ...or don't :)

Lip Liners -MAC - Half-Red
cma777 10/7/2004 6:55:00 PM
Love this l/l colour! the MA tested it on me today and it was sooooo perfect. I usually use Plum but I find it quite dark for me at times. This colour is the perfect in between colour lighter than plum but still vibrant enough for my NC35 skintone. I tried it with Captive and I think the combo may become my new HG lippie :)

Blush -MAC - Mocha blush
cma777 10/7/2004 6:47:00 PM
I agree with the MUA's below. I originally bought Blushbaby for a daily wear blush but once I got it home and tried it on my C35 skin it just didn't show up. Today I went back to exchange it and the MA put Mocha on me....WOW exactly the type of colour i was hoping for. Perfect for me to wear for everyday and probably would work very well for evening with something with a little 'pop' on top of it. Love the fact that I was able to take it back without a receipt and exchange it for something that truly worked better for me.

Pressed Powders -MAC - Blot Powder - Medium/Dark
cma777 10/7/2004 6:38:00 PM
First off I have to say, MAC is great. I strayed for a little while thinking I could find products I would like from other brands but no such luck. MAC works for me :) As for this powder this was my first try with it today and it's totally wonderful at getting rid of shine! It is definitely pricey though. 19.50 CAD hrmmm I figure if I don't break it, it should last awhile. ;)

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Benetint
cma777 9/27/2004 9:42:00 PM
Not crazy about this product at all. I fell into the hype and bought it. Hate the packaging and the liquid texture of this. The colour on the other hand is beautiful but becuz it is so thin it is hard to apply. I would rather use L'oreal Translucide in Blushing glow. Same beautiful colour, gel texture which goes on like a dream and less expensive then Benetint.
