Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Snooki by Nicole Polizzi

I never understand all the hate on celeb perfumes. Some of my favorites are celeb perfumes like BS Fantasy, Midnight Fantasy, JS Fancy Love, etc...Yes, they're not high end, but they still smell nice. So what if it's a celeb? Snooki is basically BS Fantasy without the spice note to it. Pink Sugar without the "burnt" note. It's a deep, sugary vanilla. I personally prefer her Couture scent (sugary watermelon musk- not at all like this one. A sweet, light vanilla musk), but this one is quite nice. If you like gourmond vanillas, this one is perfect. I just own so many, I couldn't get myself to purchase. I ended up getting Katy Perry's Meow instead of this one but I'm prob going to get her Couture.

Blush -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Custom Glow Blush and Bronzer
rated 5 of 5
classygirl 12/2/2012 4:53:00 PM

I've been on the hunt for the perfect blush. I've been using Flirt's Carmelle Belle for years now, but I wanted something brighter and something a little more available (Flirt is only at Kohls or online). On a whim, I bought Posie Glow. It was so good, I've literally stopped using all my Flirt blushes AND stopped looking for the perfect blush period. I went back and bought Natural Glow just bc the blush color was calling to me. It's even better than Posie Glow! A few things- I use bronzers all year long, but only as blushes in the winter months. I find these bronzers too shimmery for a full-on-face bronzer. It's meant for highlighting only. But the bronzers are SO nice, that I haven't even looked elsewhere. I have large pores and poor skin so I stay away from shimmer. The shimmer is so fine, you can't see it. But the blush side? That's where they're really beautiful. Honestly, I can't find a blush OR highlighting bronzer that compete. The only downside? They're about $12 for a drugstore product. I don't mind the cost, but some may think it's too costly. The quality is there though, IMO. Have already repurchased.

Fragrances -Dolce & Gabbana - Light Blue

I wear all different types of fragrances, but typically go for one of 2 types- either gourmond vanillas (typically fall/winter/going out) or sporty/herbal (spring/summer/casual wear). The reason I think LB is such a big seller is bc it really falls into the more casual wear arena, yet, it is just pretty enough to pull off as a pretty, going out fragrance. It's just very wearable. To me, it's a citrus, woodsy, musk. I first smell lemons with musk and this melds into woodsy musk and then lastly falls into a your-skin-but-better musk. Common complaints, I would think, would be these- lasting power and cost. It's not my strongest fragrance. But lasting wise, I def smell the musk hours later. This is not a fragrance for those that love the "In your face"/power type fragrances of say, Chanel. So if you gear towards those, you're prob not going to like LB. But to me, it's lasting power is decent. As for cost, I don't have an issue with it, but some may say it's on the pricier side. A great alternative is VS Pink line Fresh and Clean. I actually wore Fresh and Clean all last summer. It's a near dupe with 2 acceptions. 1. F+C is more woodsy and way less musk and 2. F+C, bc it contains less musk, is to me, more masculine in a sense (and you see that in some of the reviews). They are close dupes though. Some others to consider if you like LB- VS Body. Body is citrus floral that dries down to a woodsy musk. They're not dupes, but IME, if you like LB, you'd prob like Body. One other frag that I find in a similar category is Burberry Summer. Summer is berry vanilla that dries to a woodsy musk. It's more woodsy to me than LB and I def prefer the citrus of LB, but it's another alternative. For me, I LOVE LB and wear it almost daily. VS Body is my second choice, esp for this time of the year. VS Pink Fresh and Clean is a near dupe, though not as soft. Regardless, I find LB to be sporty, yet pretty and feminine all at once. One of my favorites.

Treatments -Nailtiques - Formula 2 - Nail Protein
rated 5 of 5
classygirl 10/29/2011 2:55:00 PM

You know a product is great when you've consistently used it over 10yrs. Yes, I've been using Nailtiques 2 for at least 10- 15yrs now. It is just that good. I have problematic nails. They peel, break, chip, yellow, etc...you name it. This is the only product that will allow my nails to grow- quickly, without negative effects. OPI's Nail Envy for ex, turned my nails yellow (even the formeld. free one). So I have sensitive nails. Over the years I've become a huge NP fanatic as well to prevent myself from biting and picking. Nailtiques is also the only base I've used that extends my manicure more than one day. Since I'm such a nailpolish whore, if you can not afford Nailtiques, the only other ones I recommend and have also used fairly consistently are from Sally's- Nail Life and Gelous. Nail Life is much thinner in consistency than Nailtiques and peels faster, but does work. Gelous works fantastic as a TOP coat to extend the mani's life (I did not care for it as a base). I've used those both together as base and top when the finances were tighter. My go-to's are Nailtiques 2 as base and SV Fast Dry as top.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Jennifer Aniston

Almost identical to Gendarme. An overly heady, poor reproduction of Gendarme (for women- the male's has a leather note that makes it slightly different). If you like this, I strongly urge you to try Gendarme or Philosopy's Pure Grace. Even Clean. IMO, they're a better version of this. I had high hopes bc I love soapy musk scents, but this is too cloying and heady for me.

Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - Taylor Swift Wonderstruck
rated 2 of 5
classygirl 10/8/2011 7:45:00 PM

Guess I'm in the minority here. I love gourmond fragrances. As a reference, I wear BS Fantasy, JS Lovely, VS Sexy Little Things Noir (and all the divisions of these), BBW WVS and BBW Dark Kiss. The problem I have with this fragrance is that it doesn't meld well together for me. There's a sharp note that doesn't mix well w/the fruity top notes. It's different. I'll give you that. I would have prefered that she went deeper or darker with this fragrance making it almost an incense or floral oriental. The mixing just comes up wierd for me and almost metallic? As for lasting power- it's super cloying. I washed my hands all day after wearing it w/BBW's soaps and it's STILL impossible to wash off. Not blended well together, too harsh and too cloying. I wish I liked it bc I like TS, but sorry, no go for me. I found JS's new fragrance almost identical but blended much better. I was surprised that they smelled similar.

Candles -Yankee Candles - Sun and Sand
rated 5 of 5
classygirl 4/4/2011 10:22:00 AM

This is my spring/summer staple. I've already repurchased. Many compliments on it. My sister went and bought one asap after smelling it at our house. It's not "tropical" to me in the foody sense, moreso, in the floral sense. It's a beachy-floral. It's got a floral and musk note that make it aromatic. It's really lovely and relaxing. I typically like the more foody type fragrances w/a couple of aromatics mixed in there as a reference point. I burn candles every day and Sun and Sand is my sping/summer staple.

Candles -Yankee Candles - Tart in Cherry Lemonade
rated 2 of 5
classygirl 4/4/2011 10:16:00 AM

Aakk. No. Just don't like it. Something is just off about it. I don't smell cherry or lemonade. Well, it kind of smells like cough syrup to me? Honestly, this is the first YC I couldn't stand which surprised me as I've had lemons/lemonade scents from YC bf without issue. This one? Just no. I thought it was me, but DH even made a face when he smelled it. I gave it a good try. I really did. But no. Did not like.

Candles -Yankee Candles - Autumn Leaves
rated 5 of 5
classygirl 4/4/2011 10:12:00 AM

Autumn Leaves is a mix of pine, orange and an herbal note. The pine and orange notes are what you mainly smell. It is one of my favorite fragrances from YC. I have gone through 2 candles already. I use it mainly in the fall and winter as it can def fall into both categories bc of both fall and winter notes. I've gotten multiple compliments on this. I used to use Sage and Citrus as my main candle until I found Autumn Leaves. Now, this is the one I typically burn when I have friends/family over as it's not overly foody and it has fantastic throw.

Candles -Yankee Candles - Fireside
rated 4 of 5
classygirl 4/4/2011 10:08:00 AM

This is a very different kind of fragrance so I can see the difference of opinions and reviews. First off, this is a more masculine type of fragrance so if you're a "foody" type of prefer "soft" fragrances, don't go here. Not that this is an in your face fragrance. It's not. It's just more masculine than I think some would like. It has some cedar and masculine cologne scent to it along w/and "earthy" tone. My DH likes it a lot as do I, but it is not one of my absolute favorites. I still like it very much. It runs along the same lines as Midsummer's Night for a reference, but lighter on the cologne-note. This is really what I wanted Midsummers Night to smell like as Fireside has a more "earthy" note to it and therefore more pleasant to my nose. So if you typically like the more earthy, masculine, cologne type fragrances, this is right up your alley. It falls in line w/Midsummers Night and Sage and Citrus to me (this doesn't smell like Fireside, but runs along the same line of earthy-masculine to me).

Candles -Yankee Candles - Housewarmer - Harvest
rated 5 of 5
classygirl 4/4/2011 10:00:00 AM

Harvest is one of my top favorite YC's of all time and I have tried many. I have repurchased and gone through 2 candles already. It's a pumpkin spice fragrance most of all to me. I prefer this one well over the regular pumpkin spice and pumpkin pie YC's (I've had both). The diff is the spice. Harvest has more oomph to it in terms of spice compared to the other 2 (pumpkin spice has a touch of vanilla to it and pumpkin pie def has more vanilla to it in terms of range of spice to sweet with Harvest being the "spicier" and pumpkin pie being the least spice/most vanilla-foody). Harvest is typically one of their B1G1 half off around the fall holidays so you can also get a good deal on them at the right time.

Candles -Yankee Candles - North Pole
rated 5 of 5
classygirl 4/4/2011 7:17:00 AM

I have multiple YC's that have a peppermint base. My favorite, by far, is Jack Frost which is heavier on the peppermint, and lighter on the vanilla. North Pole is the opposite. It's heavier on the vanilla and lighter on the peppermint. Regardless, it's a nice, soothing scent if you like the more foody-type, mint scents. I also have Peppermint Swirl and find that to be in between North Pole and JF in terms of peppermint/vanilla combo. They're all lovely though and have rebought many times. Even my husband requests I repurchase them. I've gotten many compliments over the years. I haven't repurchased NP only bc I prefer Jack Frost, but would if JF was discontinued.

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Dark Kiss
rated 5 of 5
classygirl 9/5/2010 9:24:00 PM

I'm pretty picky about BBW scents. I tend towards either 2 types of fragrances in general- either herbal/citrus or vanilla gourmands and I buy low and high end frags. When I tried this on, I wasn't sure bc I smelled patchouli and I'm not always a fan of it. But, something kept me guessing. I've smelled it bf. Yes, this is almost an exact dupe for BS Midnight Fantasy. The diff to my nose is that Dark Kiss is a more sheer version of Midnight Fantasy. Seriously. They are almost dupes. Similar frags at BBW's would prob be Twilight Woods (although this has sandlewood which I do not detect in Dark Kiss and the top fruit note is diff) or Sensual Amber (I do not care for this bc I typically don't care for amber in general, but I find them similar, though SA doesn't carry the fruit note this one does). I would think people that tend to like scents such as BS Fantasy, Midnight Fantasy, JS Fancy, Viva La Juicy, etc...would enjoy this fragrance.

Polishes -China Glaze - Four Leaf Clover
rated 5 of 5
classygirl 6/23/2010 12:39:00 PM

Four Leaf changed my feeling on green polishes. Greens tend to stain your nails and surrounding skin as a heads up, so they're not the easiest to wear. Plus, greens are like yellows and tends to get the most comments when I wear it. So, I'm picky. I haven't worn a green in a good year. My last fav green was Orly Mint Mojito. I tend to wear greens in the summer, so I happened to find this at Ulta and thought "what the heck". I LOVE it. Complete surprise. Neons tend to be my summer fav, but this one actually beat out my ChG Pool Party and FFF wearage! It's green, but more on the blue side but still very green. It's easily opaque in 2 coats. It practically glows on my nails w/out being neon. Just looks great all around! I have found similar shades if you don't have access to ChG. Orly Green With Envy is similar, but far less opaque. SH Insta Dry Spring Mint is similar as well for a DS dupe.

Polishes -OPI - Feelin' Hot-Hot-Hot!
rated 5 of 5
classygirl 5/30/2010 12:05:00 PM

Feelin Hot is in a similar category as Strawberry Margarita, Elephantastic Pink and Charged Up Cherry. They are all bright pinks/sl.coral w/some slight diff. If you look at Feelin Hot, Straw. Marg and Eleph Pink together in the bottles, they almost look identical. Charged Up Cherry looks a touch darker than all 3 in the bottle and it is the darkest. There are diff. From deepest to lightest/brightest- Charged up cherry, Feelin Hot, Straw.Marg and Elephant. Pink. So, Feelin Hot is not as bright pink as some of the others, but not as deep as Charged Up Cherry. It's still pretty bright, but def not as bright as Elephantastic Pink. It's also not as blue based as Straw.Marg. So, if you're more yellow toned, this would be a great option if Straw.Marg didn't work for you or if you want something less light/bright than Elephantastic Pink. Honestly, they are all beautiful colors. I personally pref Eleph.Pink and Straw Marg the most, but I am cool/lighter toned so this is prob why but I wear all 4 w/out probs.
