Eyeliner -Bobbi Brown - Forest Shimmer Ink Gel Eyeliner

I can't decide if I want to keep this one: It's a pretty, neutral color for the office, I suppose - but it doesn't have enough pop. http://img.makeupalley.com/4/0/6/6/2353491.JPG

Treatments (Eye) -Unlisted Brand - Lilash - Purified Eyelash Stimulator
rated 3 of 5

This has helped to keep my lashes conditioned and recover from lash extensions, but no real improvement in thickness or volume. I might as well go back to using emu oil for a fraction of the price. I already have long thin lashes, so if you are looking to increase your lash volume, save your money!

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Twilight Woods Body Lotion
rated 3 of 5

I received this as a gift from my mother, so I felt like I had to use it up. It smells good on me - kinda musky/masculine, but nice for the winter months. Unfortunately, it is just not moisturizing enough for my dry hands. Would not purchase, and hoping that my mother does not notice that I tossed it. :)

Hair Color -Ion - Color Brilliance - Demi Permanent Hair Color
rated 3 of 5
cjlc49 11/3/2010 8:56:00 AM

I tried Ion demi-permanent twice, and I'll probaby be going back to Wella Color Charm. I have very long hair past my bum, dark brown/soft black with some grey. I was really hoping that it would cover my grey and not do too much damage. For some reason - and I did the 1:1 ratio as well as used Ardell's grey magic, which normally works like a charm - my hair color washed out both times (even with "color safe" shampoo). Too bad... it made my hair very shiny, though!

Eye Shadow -Laura Mercier - Shimmer Eye Colour - Chambord
rated 4 of 5
cjlc49 10/9/2010 1:27:00 AM

Although Stila Poise and LM Chambord look very similar in their compacts, LM Chambord wears much more beautifully wet. Unfortunately, I can't get it to work for me any other way. See the comparison below: http://img.makeupalley.com/4/0/6/6/1778116.JPG

Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Ash Shimmer Wash
rated 3 of 5
cjlc49 10/9/2010 12:44:00 AM

I think this is definitely for the fair-skinned girls... Unfortunately, it didn't show up on me AT ALL. I tried it dry, I tried it wet, I tried it with other colors - you name it. I actually double-checked the bottom of the compact to see if the real name is "Invisible", not "Ash". For your reference: I'm around NC40.

Fragrances -Dawn Spencer Hurwitz - The Sur l'Herbe
rated 4 of 5

While I love this scent - not initially, but after about 15 minutes or so (as a previous reviewer also stated) - it just doesn't last long enough on me for some reason. :( I do highly recommend checking out DSH's fragrances, though - she has so many gorgeous scents - nothing too overwhelmingly strong, sickly sweet, or cloying, and all of very high quality.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - La Perla
rated 5 of 5
cjlc49 9/6/2010 3:16:00 PM

La Perla is a classic, floral fragrance. Fresh, spicy notes of citruses (lemon and bergamot), coriander and cardamom create the top notes. The heart is floral and sweet: rose, jasmine, ylang-ylang and iris with a hint of honey and pepper. The base is made of trees and resins: patchouli, vetiver, sandalwood and benzoin. It's vibrant, bright, feminine, dark and complex. On first whiff, this may smell heavy and "old lady", but... depending on your own chemistry, of course... it smells so beautiful and sexy on. Warning: you only need a tiny bit! Anything more would be too overpowering.

Eyeliner -Milani - Infinite Liquid Eye Liner
rated 5 of 5
cjlc49 7/31/2009 3:53:00 PM

I think these JUST hit the market, and much to my surprise, my corner of the southwest wasn't ignored as usual. I picked up one of these little gems for $5.99 from CVS in the color "Endless" - a rich, gorgeous, slightly pearlized medium purple. These come in the classic mascara tube size with a decent, but not fabulous brush at the tip of a wand attached inside the gold screw-on cap. Milani claims that these liners will last 24 hours, and although I have not tested their claim, I can say that 16 hours after application, my eyes looked just as good as when I first walked out the door that morning. I wish that I could say that about more of my cosmetics.

Makeup Brushes -Sonia Kashuk - 09 Crease Brush
rated 4 of 5
cjlc49 1/11/2008 5:38:00 PM

I agree with everyone else - this is a very good brush - like almost all of Sonia Kashuk's brushes - but it is way too big and uncontrollable for me to use as a crease brush. I just use it for an overall wash of color when I am in a rush. Would not repurchase.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Sumptuous Olive (Veluxe pearl)
rated 5 of 5
cjlc49 1/10/2008 8:00:00 PM

My absolutely favorite MAC eye shadow - and I have tried quite a few - if not my favorite eye shadow ever. I first line my upper and lower lashline with a black liner pencil (usually YSL) then smudge this completely over the black with a sponge applicator, then smoke it up around the outer 1/3 of upper lid and blend across my crease with a clean brush. Then I use a light ivory or gold shade (like rice paper) across the remaining 2/3 of my upper lid and lightly around my tearduct to add dimension - and then highlight my browbone with the same shade. I finish everything off with my usual black mascara. This makes my green/gold/brown eyes look gorgeous and HUGE!

Lip Gloss -Trucco - Divinyls Viva Vegas
rated 5 of 5
cjlc49 1/3/2008 4:34:00 PM

This is my absolutely favorite lip gloss, and I have a vast collection of lip gloss from various makers. I love love love the thick, vinyl-like texture and the staying power is hard to beat! I have even purchased four back-ups since I wear it so often - especially in the summer when my skin is a little bit darker. For your reference, I have a medium olive complexion with deep yellow tones. I have tried almost all of the divinyls lip glosses, and I love almost all of them.

Lips -Ecco Bella - Botanicals Lipstick
rated 4 of 5
cjlc49 11/29/2007 3:20:00 PM

I bought two of these on yet another spending binge in Whole Foods - or as I like to call it "Whole Paycheck". :) Tuscany Rose is a beautiful deep pink (no real red or purple tones on my lips) that looks very natural - not shimmer, glitter, or anything else but highly pigmented lip color. These have no detectable taste or odor that I have noticed, and they have decent lasting power. The only drawback for me would be that they aren't terribly moisturizing. I should mention however that I live in the high desert southwest, and it is winter time as I now write this review - so it may feel more emollient in other climates and times of the year. I simply top it with a more moisturizing lip gloss and head out the door - without eating or kissing, this lip color will last a few hours with no color changes or bleeding.

Mascara -Bourjois - Bourjois Pump Up the Volume Waterproof (Black)
rated 2 of 5
cjlc49 11/15/2007 5:54:00 PM

I tried this mascara several times over a few months under different conditions and either it was too drying and flaky (on a normal day) or it smudged terribly (if I wore a lot of eye cream or went to the gym or stood in a steamy bathroom for more than a minute). I have long thin lashes, and while it did add some volume, it never applied in a smooth or glossy way AT ALL, and I almost always had to use an eyelash comb to prevent spider lashes. I think that I gave it a fair shot for quite some time... but in the trash it goes. :(

Mascara -Stephane Marais - Mascara Comb
rated 5 of 5
cjlc49 11/12/2007 6:10:00 PM

This mascara is awesome! I have long thin lashes, and I only need a few swipes to get full coverage. First I start at the very base of my lashes, then wiggle the wand just a teeny bit to coat the base and deposit just a little bit of the product on my upper lash line for a subtle inner eye liner effect and then gently pull the comb through to the tips. The second swipe (without dipping into the tube again) is mostly to coat any lashes that I may have missed or to add a bit more product to the tips. This mascara leaves my lashes long, beautiful, clump-free, and glamorous without being OTT or spidery. I have this mascara in blue and wine (burgundy) and I love them both. If you can find this on EBay or some other auction site (this has sadly been discontinued) - definitely give it a try. Highly recommended.
