Shampoo -Matrix - Biolage - Ultra Hydrating Shampoo
cjenn 4/22/2013 6:39:00 PM
I join the chorus of (mostly) positive reviews for this Ultra-Hydrating Shampoo. Like some of the others, I tried the Hydrating version and it did actually seem to make my hair crunchy and drier over time. This however, is a wonderful product which makes my formerly dry hair feel and look soft and silky, with renewed shine and bounciness. I used this in conjunction with the regular conditioning Balm and the frizz-free shine serum; what a great combo! I absolutely love the classic Biolage scent and all of the natural ingredients in this shampoo; it's really awesome and can't believe how many great products now exist in the this line since I first used it in 1990. Great stuff.

Moisturizers -Garnier - Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream
cjenn 4/15/2013 11:38:00 PM
This is the old Hydra-Fresh moisturizer for normal/oily skin of about ten years ago. L'Oreal who owns Garnier is famous for bringing back old products and changing the packaging and name to see whether it sells in its new form. This is a very light, oil-free product that really feels refreshing on skin. Love the scent, the feel and the way it makes my skin look so dewy after application. Good for you L'Oreal/Garnier, another great reincarnation that you never should have discontinued in the first place.

Cleansers -Garnier - Moisture Rescue Fresh Cleansing Foam
cjenn 4/15/2013 11:35:00 PM
This is the old Hydra-Fresh cleanser reincarnated. Smells, feels and looks the same as the formula of old. Still cleanses really well and feels very refreshing, even in winter. Makes my skin feel balanced and not tight, with a healthy glow. Love that they brought this back in another form, but it's still the same lovely product that the Hydra-Fresh line came out with about ten years ago. Good stuff!

Styling Products -Garnier - Fructis Sleek & Shine 5 in 1 Serum Spray
cjenn 4/4/2013 6:57:00 PM
I was kinda sceptical about this product when I first saw it advertised in my favorite magazine. I am surprised at all of the negative reviews, but I think the last reviewer is right. This is NOT geared towards girls with fine or thin hair, all that oil will weigh it down and make it feel greasy. I also agree with another reviewer who recommended spraying the product into your hand and distributing it that way. A little goes a veeeeeerrrrrry long way; did I say very? Anyway, I used this both when my hair was wet and on dry hair as it says to do in the directions. Both methods made my hair feel soft, smooth and look very light and shiny. I have to say I am impressed, though I would tell anyone, regardless of their hair type, use this very sparingly. Since my hair tends towards dryness, I would be careful, as this contains quite a bit of alcohol; it is one of the first few ingredients. I would not recommend spraying near the roots, as it will def. make the hair look and feel greasy. I think the key to using this product with success is to use it sparingly, and rubbing in the hand to distribute which will give you more control. I am really impressed with this product and will update later.

Moisturizers -Garnier - Nutritioniste Ultra-Lift Anti-Wrinkle Firming Night Cream
cjenn 4/3/2013 11:12:00 PM
I was on the hunt for a product with retinol in it, a vitamin A derivative or maybe I got that backwards. Anyway, being quite fond of Garnier products, I decided to try this one. The cream seems heavy at first application, but once it settles into the skin, it doesn't leave a greasy after feel. I think this is a very good cream for delivering moisture without excess oil, but not too sure about the lifting/anti-wrinkle busting claims. Not sure how much retinol this contains, but so far, it has left my skin softer and smoother feeling and I will continue to use it.

Moisturizers -Kinerase - Dr. Lewinn - Wrinkle Repair Daily Cream SPF 30 for normal/oily skin
cjenn 3/27/2013 5:28:00 PM
This appears to be nearly identical to the more expensive (and original) Kinerase cream version. Now mind you, Kinerase has the lotion and cream and I have used both; this one is more like the Kinerase cream. However, I do see a very slight difference between the costlier version and Dr. Lewinn, in that this spf 30 cream seems to leave my skin a bit oilier; despite it being targeted for normal/oily skin types. The results are exactly the same as the Kinerase and both moisturize my skin very well and keep it that way all day, as well as leaving my face more even and glowing, with seemingly refined pores. A good less expensive option than Kinerase (which, btw is manufactured by Valeant which is Kinerase's new manufacturer; used to be made by ICN Pharmaceuticals but was sold about six years ago to Valeant). FYI.

BB Cream -L'Oreal - Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream
cjenn 3/20/2013 10:14:00 PM
I echo the comments of the last reviewer in that this is a very good product as far as making my skin look smoother and giving me a matte finish, with no oily t-zone problems. I too am surprised that this isn't getting better reviews. I had been on the look out for a BB cream that has a built-in primer as this one does and it really is great. I got the light one as I have very fair skin and was also pleasantly surprised that there is no funky color to interfere with my makeup. The tube is well-designed and the product comes out whitish which I didn't expect; though it's not hard to blend in with your skin tone. So far, this is the best BB cream I have found and love the unique, no color formula which leaves my skin looking luminous and flawless. I also recommend using it as an eyeshadow and lipstick primer as well. Makes lip color and eyeshadow go on smoother and doesn't alter the color of your makeup at all. Great stuff!!!

Conditioner -Neutrogena - triple moisture deep recovery hair mask
cjenn 2/26/2013 9:44:00 PM
Fantastic product which I've been using since it first debuted about eight years ago. I stopped using it for awhile but recently went back to this masque in search of something to quench my dry winter hair. The formula is still the same and is as wonderful as I remember. Doesn't weigh my hair down and leaves my hair feeling like silk with lots of bounce, vibrancy, and new life. Only beef is that it's not in a tube, you have to dip into the jar to scoop the stuff out and sometimes it's not easy to do this, esp. when the product gets low. However, that is only a small price to pay for a really professional quality product. Love it!

Polishes -OPI - The Man with the Golden Gun
cjenn 1/29/2013 7:30:00 PM
LOVE the bottle, LOVE the product. At first application over my OPI Hong Kong Sunrise, it looked way too subtle, not that I expected bling bling from this. However, the other reviewer is right, It helps to shake the bottle before application to ensure a more even distribution of the gold flecks. Yes, it's real 18 k gold, such a cool idea and so Beverly Hills. If you're expecting a lot of shimmer, it's not that kind of polish; it's a clear top coat that won't alter the color, but once on, this delivers a gorgeous effect. So luxe and feels good to wear real gold on my nails. Looks good on bare nails too!

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Barely Branded Color Tattoo
cjenn 1/17/2013 3:55:00 PM
Super pretty, but very subtle color as with the Inked in Pink, both are light but hi-impact colors. Is kinda a frosty light beige and looks almost like the Too Cool if you layer a lot. Is a very versatile product that lends different effects to your eyes, depending on how much color you use. I absolutely love this one and will gladly repurchase. Great color!!

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - inked in Pink Color Tattoo
cjenn 1/17/2013 3:52:00 PM
Like the others in this line, I love this one too. Although this is more subtle and shimmery than the first wave of ones that came out in fall, it makes just as powerful a statement on. Kinda a ballet pink, rather than bubblegum, with a nice subtle frosty effect. Makes my brown eyes pop and layers nicely under others in the Maybelline Color Tattoo line. Awesome, last super long product.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Color Tattoo Metal By Eyestudio Eyeshadow Gold Rush
cjenn 1/17/2013 3:49:00 PM
I was very skeptical when I first saw this on the new arrivals display at my local drugstore. I thought it might be too yellowy and passed it up the first time i saw it. However, on second glance, I snatched this up along with a few others and am pleasantly surprised at how shimmery and cool this looks on. It is subtle if you apply just a thin layer and more intense as you build the color, making it look like two different eye shadows. Shimmers beautifully and is not too yellowy at all. This has become one of my staple beauty products, love it!!!

Mascara -Maybelline - The Rocket Volume Express
cjenn 1/10/2013 6:57:00 PM
I have to say that this is yet another fantastic Maybelline mascara. Have been using all of the Volum'Express mascaras since they first came out in the early 1990's. This one is virtually smear and clump free and doesn't flake at all. Adds beautiful, sexy volume as promised and is easy to remove. Love every single one of the mascaras in this line. Awesome product!

Loose Powders -Cover Girl - Professional Loose Powder
cjenn 1/10/2013 6:51:00 PM
Been using this for over thirty years now, yes count them. Whoa, dating myself here. Has the same CG (Noxema) scent that it did back in the early 1980s. However, it's the same great formula that keeps me looking flawless, oil-free and seems to make my pores disappear. Not crazy about the new packaging, but this is one of those classic products that still delivers on its promises.

Masks -Palmers - Purifying Mask with Green Clay and Sweet Almond Oil
cjenn 12/26/2012 8:19:00 PM
Hard to find, but I got mine on Drugstore.com. Is a very good skin purifier and is somewhat drying, so might not be ideal for drier skins. However, if you follow with the facial lotion or night cream, it has a more hydrating effect. Another really great product from the new Palmer's skincare line. Love it!
