Lip Liners -DuWop - Switzerland
rated 5 of 5

I wear this lipliner under everything- gloss, lipstick. It's very natural and doesn't clash. Sometimes I just throw it on under clear gloss. I was never a lip liner person because of bad experiences in my high school years (the era when brown lip liner with pink lipstick was in) until my mom got me this and now I use it daily.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Corfu
rated 5 of 5
cinina230 10/3/2004 12:26:00 AM

This is one of my staples, and one of the few eyeshadows that my husband likes, and he is notoriously anti-makeup. Like all creams, you have to blend it right. I think this color would look weird on people with grey or blue-grey eyes with no green tones, but it is a must-have for people with green or brown eyes. Very understated and beautiful when you wear it plain.

Toners -Kiehls - Herbal Blue Astringent
rated 4 of 5

I have dry skin and rarely need toner, much less a toner with alcohol (the reason this gets four lippies) but this is the absolute best SPOT treatment ever. I get whiteheads pretty often because I over moisturize. Get a q-tip, soak it in the toner, and hold it to the blemish for about twenty seconds. It will be gone. I also use it for when my upper back gets oily if I wear my hair down- i put a spray head on it and spray it on like a toner. One bottle has lasted me about two years, so that helps the price.

Fragrances -Yves Saint Laurent - Paris

I am reconsidering using this as my signature scent. The problem is that every time i get a signature scent, some jealous chick always steals it. First it was Amarige. I don't mind though, because the girl who stole it from me used it to get a man who later married her. Heh. She looks like me too. Then it was Boucheron Initial, and my sister in law did that too. So I am getting this and not letting anyone see the bottle. The scent dries powdery on me, but it is strong at first. I love the way it wears off tho.

Sunscreen -La Roche Posay - Anthelios XL ,SPF 60+
rated 3 of 5
cinina230 9/27/2004 10:29:00 PM

The weird thing is that the spf 40 gets rave reviews and mentions none of the problems i have had with the spf 60+- whiteness, greasiness- and i live in the south and greasy and summer do not mix. I bought it in europe pretty cheap though, about 12 dollars. Going to try the 40.

Skincare - Body -Jason Natural Cosmetics - Cocoa Butter body lotion
rated 3 of 5
cinina230 9/27/2004 10:21:00 PM

I like the smell of cocoa butter but the smell of this is a little off for me. Still I buy it because it is cheap and effective. I have a more expensive cream (mode de vie) with cocoa butter in it and I mix the two to make the expensive one last longer :-) Unlike the earlier review though, i found it aggravates my KP (chicken bumps) so i only use it on my hands and legs.

Gels/Soaps -Jason Natural Cosmetics - Satin Shower Body Wash in Chamomile
rated 4 of 5
cinina230 9/27/2004 10:18:00 PM

I would give it a five but, as the other reviewers said, the fragrance is SUPER strong; I wish the lavender scent had as strong a fragrance. Still quality stuff. I leave it at my stepdad's house because i don't go there a lot and I can use it for everything, including hair.

Skincare - Body -Jason Natural Cosmetics - Tea Tree Gel
rated 5 of 5

I love this stuff. I have KP and I use it on my arms in the summer on the days I don't use my prescription cream. CHEAP and it lasts a long time. All Jason products are amazing, especially considering they are all between two and eight dollars.

Moisturizers -Purpose - Purpose Intensive Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15
rated 5 of 5
cinina230 9/25/2004 4:39:00 PM

This is another "winter" moisturizer I use, the one I keep going back to ( I am one of those people who rotates products). Two 50-year old women who look thirty (my best friend's mom and a professor) told me they have used this and only this for years. Can't argue with their faces- no pores, no fine lines, and I can't argue with the price. Still I am so hot-natured that can't wear both foundation and moisturizer otherwise I am a beady sweaty mess so on makeup days I wear a tinted moisturizer (laura mercier or mac).

Concealers -Laura Mercier - Secret Concealer
rated 2 of 5
cinina230 9/25/2004 4:31:00 PM

I am a HUGE Laura Mercier fan (she has the only line that really caters to people with bluish red undertones to their skin) and the secret concealer does not live up to the hype for me. I found it too "hard"- difficult to apply, difficult to tweak the two colors to what I need. Use her eye cream and use some other concealer ( I prefer the MAC studio line).

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - AmLactin 12%
rated 1 of 5
cinina230 9/25/2004 4:28:00 PM

Get the prescription stuff (LacHydrin). I have horrible keratosis pilaris on my arms and, uh, posterior and the OTC stuff did NOT work at all for me. My pharmacist told me AmLactin and LacHydrin were the same (when their ingredient lists are different)when my derm wrote my Rx. I am so angry because I lived with the ugly bumps for five years (read: my arms looked like pizza, long sleeves in the summer). Then I got a bottle of the prescription stuff a few months ago in a last ditch effort to save my skin. I use it ONLY TWICE A WEEK and my KP -what was considered a serious adult case- is GONE. Run, do not walk, to your dermatologist for the Rx real deal.

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Anti Wrinkle Anti Blemish Cream
rated 5 of 5
cinina230 9/22/2004 2:08:00 PM

I was apprehensive at first because my skin is dry and fair but it has made my skin sooooo soft, gotten rid of some of my lines (good old sun damage at the old age of 25, PLEASE stay out of the sun, ladies)and helped with oil control. the retinol and aha's are light enough to where i haven't peeled. I use it at night.

Conditioner -Garnier - FRUCTIS conditioner
rated 4 of 5
cinina230 9/22/2004 2:00:00 PM

This is not a summer conditioner. I have super fine hair but I use it once a week or so in the winter (my husband uses it, so it's in the house). I LOVE the way it makes my hair smell and I love how soft my hair gets. But it is too heavy for everyday use, at least for me..

Lip Treatments -Carmex - LipBalm
rated 5 of 5
cinina230 9/22/2004 1:58:00 PM

Carmex is addictive for me but only because I get cold sores. If i didn't get cold sores I would stick to Kiehl's but I find that using carmex twice a day pre-empts cold sores. I haven't had one in years, and if I feel like I am going to get on, I just put more carmex on. I go through about a pot every six weeks though.
