Concealers -Tarte - Smooth Operator - Amazonian clay waterproof concealer
cindahBEAR 9/3/2012 9:55:00 PM
This is a pretty good concealer... it lasts well, though it doesn't provide full coverage. i have it in Light, which I think is an ok match for me. I apply it with a small concealer brush... but I may try a sponge to see if that works better. It is spendy for a concealer... so if I can't find another concealer that is on the natural side like Tarte, I'll probably buy it again.

Conditioner -ENJOY - Leave In Conditioner
cindahBEAR 9/3/2012 9:48:00 PM
This is a staple in my hair care lineup. It's heavier then the Enjoy Conditioning Spray (which is also awesome)... but it doesn't weigh my hair down or leave it greasy. I use about a nickel size amount on damp hair after shampooing/conditioning in the shower (for reference: my hair is a few inches past my shoulders and it's wavy and kind of thick). I'm careful not to get it on my scalp... more so just midway down my hair and then especially on the ends. And then I follow up with Argan oil. And then I'll let it air dry over night and use a curling iron (ceramic Hot Tools) on the ends in the morning (in sections)... and that will last me nicely for 3-4 days. The curl relaxes more each day, but that's cool cuz it gives it a different look each day =) OR if I don't want to use heat, after the Enjoy and the Argan, I'll use some Enjoy Shaping Lotion and then separate my hair into sections and twist it with my fingers to give it a fun beach wave look. The trick with this process is to NOT MESS WITH YOUR HAIR after you twist it. Anywho... that was more than a product review, I guess. But I just wanted to pass along the other tips...

Polishes -OPI - Russian Navy
cindahBEAR 9/3/2012 9:30:00 PM
This is a really pretty color... it's just darker than I typically prefer (to me it's nearly black with two coats unless the light hits it). Plus I often do french manicures on myself, so it definitely looks black when it's such a little stripe on the nail.

Polishes -OPI - Alpine snow
cindahBEAR 9/3/2012 9:24:00 PM
This is my most used OPI nail lacquer. I usually always do french manicure on my toes, that's why. But OPI, as usual, lasts great and is good quality. It doesn't really flake or chip... unless I stub my toe lol.

Treatments -ENJOY - Conditioning Spray
cindahBEAR 9/3/2012 9:12:00 PM
This is a staple in my hair product line up. It does a great job of conditioning and softening while not weighing my hair down at all. (I have color treated and kind of thick, wavy hair) I use it on damp hair after shampooing/conditioning in the shower and then put on Argan oil as well. I usually let my hair air dry over night and then flat iron it in the morning. It has a light, pleasant scent, too. Love this product!!

Hair Styling Tools -Babyliss - Pro Nano Titanium Straightening Iron
cindahBEAR 9/3/2012 9:06:00 PM
So about 5 or 6 years ago, my hair dresser at the time told me to get one of these because it would "change my life." My oh my, did it!! It does a quick, awesome job of straightening (with just one pass over on each section)... and the styling lasts fantastically well! I've figured out, too, how to get that fantastic style you get at the salon that lasts for days: 1) I shampoo my hair twice and then condition, 2) I put on Enjoy Conditioning Spray and then Argan oil, 3) Let it dry over night, 4) Starting at the back of my head (by the neckline), section it off into about 2 inch wide x 1/2 inch thick and run the iron over once... and continue with the rest of the hair by sections. It'll take around 20 minutes to iron my whole head of hair (it's a few inches past my shoulders and kind of thick)... but the style will last great for 3-4 days, so I think it's worth spending 20-30 minutes one day and then not styling it again for 3 or 4 days lol. I've ironed friends' hair with this iron and they've commented on how well it turned out... and then I've also ironed a friend's hair with her own Chi and I felt like Chi can't even compete with Babyliss. Bottom line: love, LOVE this iron. I've used a Chi to do a friends hair and it I don't think a Chi (at least that one) can even come close to competing with a Babyliss.

Lotions/ Creams -Burt's Bees - Shea Butter and Vitamin E Body Lotion
cindahBEAR 9/3/2012 8:46:00 PM
I bought this because of the shea butter... as well as because it's sans parabens, phthalates, etc. It's a decent lotion, but nothing spectacular. One thing I wouldn't recommend is putting it on your decollage area... I recently got sunburned and tried putting some of this lotion on part of chest area to hopefully avoide peeling and ended up with a couple of big blemishes. =/ Were they caused by the lotion? I can't say for sure, but I won't risk finding out again lol. I'll use it up and then try another brand because I'm feeling convicted about Burts Bees parent company being Clorox... and I'd prefer to try a brand that fully does not partake in animal testing.

Mascara -Physicians Formula - Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Mascara
cindahBEAR 9/3/2012 8:31:00 PM
I was on the hunt for a new mascara... and decided to give this one a try since it's organic and doesn't have alot of the chemical garbage in it. I've been using Clinique High Lengths mascara for the last couple years, and this PH mascara definitely does better in the volume department. It doesn't seem to smudge/run much... unless you're tearing up alot. I got something in my eye and my eye started tearing like crazy and it started to smudge/run... but that's expected considering it's not water proof. Which also lends to it coming off fine with soap and water. And my lashes don't feel hard to the touch like most mascaras leave them - I really like that. Overall, I'd say it's a great deal (especially when you find them 2 in a box for the price of 1) considering it's got better ingredients than most DS brands. I'll buy it again soley based on that fact.

Lipstick -Too Faced - La Creme Lipstick - Naked Dolly
cindahBEAR 9/2/2012 8:14:00 PM
I love the color of this lipstick.. it's a pale pink/nude. However, I didn't have an overall good experience with it. It is quite creamy, but didn't go on smooth for me... even with lip balm underneath. I tried applying with a brush and that worked better, but it quickly settled into the lines of my lips. And it accentuated any chapped areas. Needless to say, I am bummed because I do really like the color... but just can't rock it with the way it sits on my lips. =/

Treatments -Neutrogena - On the Spot Acne Treatment Vanishing Formula
cindahBEAR 9/2/2012 1:39:00 AM
I've been using this for years now as a preventative measure... in the AM and PM. I still tend to struggle with breakouts, but this stuff works way better for me than salicylic acid, so I stick with it. Once I have a pimple, sometimes it makes it go away quicker... and sometimes it doesn't. So I think of it more as a preventative thing. You just have to be careful because it will bleach towels, clothing, pillow cases, etc.

Eye Shadow -Sephora - Long Lasting Paraben Free Eye Shadow
cindahBEAR 9/2/2012 1:29:00 AM
I've been using this shadow in Cocoa Powder along with Pur Minerals shadow in Olivenite to fill in my eyebrows. It's worked quite nicely... although, since they are both eye shadows, I have to be careful not to rub my eyebrows or away they go lol.

Lip Treatments -Blistex - Silk & Shine
cindahBEAR 9/2/2012 1:23:00 AM
This leaves a nice silky, shiney finish that I really like. There are other lip balms, though, that do better to give lasting moisture. I feel like this is good until it wears off... then my lips feel quite dry until I put more on... whereas when Burts Bees beeswax lip balm wears off, my lips feel fine. It does have a distinct smell... but I don't mind it. And the spf is a definite added bonus.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Tinted Lip Balm - Hibiscus
cindahBEAR 9/2/2012 12:55:00 AM
I've been using Burt's Bees regular beeswax lip balm for years... so I decided to give this tinted lip balm a try. It does have good pigment... it's sheer, but noticable. And it has a nice shiney finish, not shimmery - which is good. I will agree with the other reviews though that it does cling to and accentuate chapped areas... so that's a big downer. =/ It's a bit pricey for a tinted lip balm, too... so that along with the fact that it accentuates chapped areas leads me to say I won't buy it again. But it might work well for someone who doesn't have dry or flaky lips.

Lip Treatments -Tarte - 24/7 Lip Sheer SPF 15
cindahBEAR 9/2/2012 12:41:00 AM
A friend gave me this in Wednesday. It went on great...it's smooth and creamy. This particular one has surprisingly good pigment, too...so it's definitely more than just sheer. Unfortunately, though, it's a bit too brown for my skin tone so I can't wear it except around home. I haven't tried any others yet...

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Beeswax Lip Balm

I've been using this chapstick for YEARS. It's a good product and does well to replenish my lips... especially if I put it on before I go to bed, my lips are much better in the morning.
