Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Perfection Volumizing Mascara

I wasn't expecting much from this mascara. It's blown me away! I've tried Lash Exact, Exact Eyelights, Lashblast Fusion, Lash Exact Volume, Fantastic Lash (I think it's called)... at any rate, quite a few CG mascaras. I like that their formulas are a bit on the drier side, but always liked Maybelline brushes more. That being said, the brush for Lash Perfection is like the ones in the Exact line (i.e. plastic, tapered, etc) and is slightly smaller than Lash Exact Volume... yet packs so much more volume!! And length! My lashes are defined, long and full. Not dramatic, but I have a feeling I could build it up to dramatic if I felt like it. No clumping. A bit of flaking/smudging at the end of the day, but I also have suuuper oily skin so "end of the day" flakes/smudges are nothing new/not a deal breaker for me. All in all, I had just convinced myself to try a high end mascara (I experiment with mascaras a lot, so I generally stick to drugstore), before purchasing this on impulse. This has definitely become a staple in my make-up bag! I think I'll use the $$ I saved from buying a high end mascara for something else, because I'm not looking for another mascara after finding this gem. :)

Treatments -Neostrata - Oil Free Matifying Fluid
rated 5 of 5

First review ever. And it's because I've left this mattifying fluid in search of others ... but nothing works like this. It honestly lives up to its claim -- 6 hours of oil-control. It even surpasses this on my "good skin" days. As some others haven mentioned, it does finish powdery, but I don't mind this at all, and I wouldn't want the formula changed to something more lightweight, because I feel it would become less efficacious (I believe the thick formula is due to the 3% microspheres). There are two cons: the price, which is $32 CDN for 50ml (!) and that if you have ANY dryness, this will accentuate it. My advice would be to apply a light (or heavier on dry spots) moisturizer before application of the mattifying fuild. I love this product from Neostrata! My super oily-skin midday oil-slicks are no more! Even better, because the oil is controlled, my acne-has also cleared (although that could also be the anti-acne aspect of this formulation...) And what's more, this works fabulously as a primer, which is a bonus. :) I would definitely recommend this. HG!
