Lipstick -MAC - Candy Yum-Yum
chococat05 3/10/2013 1:29:00 PM
At first, I thought this lipstick was going to be too bright and too light but I was gladly proven wrong. I recently purchased Nars lipstick in schiap-- which is also a gorgeous bright pink as well. CYY is a more pink version of schiap. I also have Mac st. Germain lipstick which is bright shade of light pink. Thankfully, CYY is not as light as st, germain. It is bright but since it's not light as st. Germain, I feel it could work in many different situations. I'm NC 25 right now, and it's really flattering on my skin tone and I can imagine it would be flattering on many different skin tones even if you have a bit yellow undertone-- it has similar brightening face effect like nars schiap.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Soft Brown
chococat05 3/10/2013 1:58:00 AM
This is a great crease and transition shade. It's very warm almost orrangey brown. It adds great depth to the crease because it's color and it's matte finish. This is a keeper in my transition shade family: Mac wedge, texture, saffron // UD naked, buck, and Tease.

Makeup Brushes -Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman - Expert Face Brush
chococat05 1/16/2013 3:22:00 PM
I really enjoy this brush. I have not used this for foundation because I feel like it's not big enough for a fast application. However, I love this for contouring! :D It's an very effective yet super soft contouring brush! Great for blending out harsh edges/ softening the edges for a soft contoured look. I think this also will be marvelous to apply liquid/cream highlighting products. Overall, this synthetic haired brush is very, very soft and dense. It's much softer than many natural bristled brushes and you can use cream products with this brush. The brush is built very sturdily and I don't think it'll shed any hairs anytime soon.

Highlighters -TheBalm - Mary-Lou Manizer
chococat05 12/28/2012 1:03:00 PM
I am a powder highlighter fanatic! I love this Mary-Lou Manizer (it has become part of my hi-lighting routine) THE END! PACKAGING: The balm has such a cute and creative packaging! Loves it! I think they do a better 'cute' packaging than Benefit, Too Faced etc... Personally, it makes me HAPPY every time I look at it! Also, I don't care what people say about the packaging-- you know what-- all those sleek high end packaging looks boring (they all look the same!) to me compared to this creative packaging. so there! lol ROP IF YOU WANT TO SEE MY OTHER powder highlighter comparison and recs! :D COMPARISON: --MAC Perfect Topping MSF: My HG highlighter; PT is more neutral- think pinky satin-y cream color; MLM is definitely more golden and more metallic than MAC PT MSF. --MAC REFINED MSF: this is the definition of peaches and cream ; I absolutely love it-- if you can find it again; I highly rec you get it if you are fair-med to tan! MLM is more golden and yellow-er-- the finish is similar; Refined might be a bit more 'refined' in its formulation. --MAC SOFT AND GENTLE MSF: This is similar to MLM in the pan (the similarity ends there!) but it's definitely a silver shine (think Stila Kitten! :D but less metallic than Kitten) than MLM and it's bit more metallic. It's also very VERY gorgeous good if you want to be uber hi-lighted! --MAC LIGHTSCAPADE MSF: This is WHITE! MORE SATINY FINISH LOVELY if you're going in for a snow-princess look! --NARS ALBATROSS: This one is truly GOLDEN; MLM compared to it, it's more like champagne colored as oppose to white gold. ALBA's shimmer particles are larger too so it's not as refined as MLM. ALBA is beautiful if you want to be GOLDEN BRONZED--great to pair with a golden bronzer! CONCLUSION: You need this in your life.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked 2 Palette
chococat05 12/7/2012 2:24:00 PM
Let me preface my review by saying even though I gave this product a 5 star rating-- it doesn't mean it's a perfect product. My reason for the 5 star (which is personal/relative) is having a variety selection of great neutrals with lots of shimmers/glitter (which I lurrrvveee) and it's good value. What I thought it could be better-- The packaging-- I feel like the QC/ QA for the packaging is lacking. The names of each shadow is printed crooked on mine palette (This is a palette from Sephora). It's not centered like all my other UD palettes are. Very annoying-- Since I just recently got this I might take it and exchange it for a better one because the crooked names are bothering me a lot!!!!! The brush-- I have very, very good experience with synthetic brushes but this one is bit scratchy (the blending side) the other end- concealer like brush is too firm for powder e/s but good for lining the eyes with a cream product-- especially since the shadows in this palette are VERY softly packed--it just kicks up too much loose powder. The eye shadow quality-- after my first use, I think the eye shadow is somewhat loosely packed but with good pigmentation. I just have to use my own brushes not the brushes that came with the palette. Overall-- this is a good palette for hardcore eye shadow lovers who already have matte/satin finished e/s in their collection and already have a good set of eye brushes already. For beginners who just started their collection-- I recommend either getting this palette on sale or just save your money getting a custom palette with a good selection of matte, satin, and shimmer finishes and a good set of eye shadow brushes.

Lip Gloss -Bare Escentuals - Buxom Lips- Dolly
chococat05 11/24/2012 6:28:00 PM
The color is a mauve color like my pigmented lips; the color is quite sheer but it's a darker color. I really like the cooling effect of this gloss; I used to have a Mark gloss that had a similar effect; I like the packaging too. I go this in a set but I'll not buy these individually; UPDATE: I really like this on top of nude lipsticks! Try it! It's lovely and I love how it feels on my lips! Giving this a 5!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Honey Lust (Lustre)
chococat05 11/16/2012 10:52:00 PM
Honey Lust is a pinky gold with golden flecks of small glitter. It's in the color family of Gleam, UD half baked and woodwinked and amber lights. I don't have any problem with fall out but I always prime my lid with moisturizer and a Mac Paintpot, or maybe a NYX JEP or the benefit's CCS which it all works quite effectively. The glitter size is not chunky IMO, compared with the UD's Midnight cowboy rides again (actually any glitter shadow compared with that one is small glitter lol) If you have problems with fall out you can also try wetting the shadows with some fix +.

Makeup Brushes -Tokidoki - Pittura brush set
chococat05 11/16/2012 10:37:00 PM
Love this brush set!!! I just love how adorable the brushes are and how SOFT!! As with all synthetic brushes, it's super soft!!! My only regret is only picking up 1 set. I need like 1 or 2 more to give to friends. way too cute and adorable and fun not like my boring MAC and whatever brushes (lol I didn't mean that... I love my other brushes too <3) .

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Peony Colorburst Lipgloss 008
chococat05 11/13/2012 10:53:00 PM
This is a beautiful Nars 'orgasm' like shade. I was so excited to try this shade as well but I'm so very disappointed it is sooo, so sheer. On my very pigmented lips, it's like a barely opaque gloss and very transparent like a clear gloss. The texture, smell and packaging is all very nice just not the color pay off. it's good that I got this on sale.

Primer/ Corrector -Revlon - PhotoReady Perfecting Primer (color 001)
chococat05 9/29/2012 5:57:00 PM
Really wants to love this primer but it just didn't work for me. It does give me a nice pore-less and satin finish. HOwever, it just makes the makeup I apply next to slide off my face! I used this along with PR foundation and a bit of MIssha M's BB Cream but it just doesn't keep the oil in. I feel like the PR foundation does a good job keep my face less oily but this just doesn't improve anything but makes my face oily. No breakouts from this but it makes MU slide off--not a cute look.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Kabuki Face Brush
chococat05 9/25/2012 3:41:00 PM
Love love love this brush; It's has synthetic hairs. It's really soft and the shape is nice. This brush is pretty dense. The best thing is the price it's only $3 ( I believe) from their studio line; These remind me of the eco-tool brushes that has synthetic hairs but I cannot stand the packaging of those brushes; I have a small LE small Mac Kabuki and this ELF one is so much more softer. I am sure there are other soft/softer bukies out there but this is 1 of the best for the price!

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Midnight Cowboy Rides Again
chococat05 9/24/2012 8:31:00 PM
I love glittery eye shadows. This color is just gorgeous. However, I do find the glitter particle size a tad too big for me. You'll def need to apply this wet.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #217 Blending
chococat05 9/15/2012 11:44:00 PM
This is a really good blending brush either for the crease or the whole lid. The bristles are very soft and it's very gentle to the skin of the eyes. I like the shape because it allows me to control where to place my crease color. Only thing about this brush might be the white brush hair..it's easier for it to get it dirty and harder to clean on darker/ brighter colors.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Glamour Check!
chococat05 9/15/2012 11:38:00 PM
This is a gorgeous ruddy/ reddish brown. Kinda have that red-carpet glamorous brown going on. This is a starflash texture so the texture is very good- smooth and easy to apply/blend. I can wear this on the lid or in the crease. It's rather on the 'bold'/ glam side of neutrals. This can be paired with so many different eyeshadow combos as well! I can imagine this work on all different eye colors and good on fair-med skin tones (even some olive tones). If you have very dark skin tone then do a swatch test first- just to see if it doesn't pull an unflattering red color.

Lip Gloss -MAC - like venus Dazzleglass
chococat05 9/5/2012 5:03:00 PM
This is a super pretty color- cool pink with pink/purple sparkles. I just so in love with the color. I can stare at it for a long time. The formula is a bit sticky but after a while, I don't notice it.
