Blush -Shu Uemura - Glow On in P Gold 93D
rated 5 of 5

This is the best highlighting product I have ever used so far. It is very silky in texture and very pigmented. It imparts a very obvious yet non-overbearing golden glow to your face wherever you apply it. There are no glitters or sparkles or shimmers in it, just a frosty glow. I wouldn't really use this as a blush but more for layering on top of other blush colors to add a golden sheen to it or as a highlighter right under the eyes/tops of cheekbones, down the bridge of the nose, and some across the forehead. I read on here that this is what Scott Barnes uses on J.Lo to give her that signature "glow."

Eye Shadow -MAC - Pigment in Vanilla
rated 5 of 5
chocmartini00 12/28/2006 10:58:00 AM

This is a staple product in my stash. I tend to use it almost every time I do a smokey eye on my brow bone and inner corners of my eyes. It is a very pretty creamy color with a complex gold duochrome shimmer that seems to go with nearly any e/s combination. I have yet to use it as a highlight on my cheekbones but I imagine it would be very pretty. The texture is nice and smooth, it's very pigmented and easy to blend. It's definately a pigment you would buy a full jar of.

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - heavy metal glitter liner (in general)
rated 5 of 5
chocmartini00 12/28/2006 10:49:00 AM

These are the best glitter eyeliners I've tried. I didn't like MAC's b/c they weren't that noticeable and I thought I wouldn't like these b/c of the huge chunks of glitter and I assumed it would just be clear w/ chunks of glitter here and there. However, I found the packaging to be really good and the applicator excellent... it really helps draw a sharp precise line. Also, it only takes maybe 3 swipes to get an intensely packed on line of glitter. The look is awesome; it's like you glued on teeny tiny rhinestones all along your eye. Definately a look for nighttime.

Eyeliner -Bobbi Brown - Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Graphite Shimmer Ink
rated 3 of 5
chocmartini00 12/28/2006 10:42:00 AM

The color is gorgeous, a shimmery mettalic blackish grey. However, when I apply it's a little difficult to get a precise dark line b/c it's not that super pigmented and the color slides around my eye as I apply. Also, the staying power is not that great unlike MAC fluidlines which never budge until you use an oil-based remover. Due to the smudging and the not so great pigmentation I might actually be swapping this but I LOVE the color so we'll see.

Blush -Bare Escentuals - Warmth All Over Face Color
rated 3 of 5
chocmartini00 12/28/2006 10:10:00 AM

I liked this product at first until I realized that I tend to apply too much sometimes and I look really red and flushed like I've run a marathon or I'm drunk or something. I don't know why it makes me look red since the color is a deep brownish shade. With this product you really need to use like a couple specks because it's that pigmented. I gave up on it since it's so difficult to use and so easy to make me look like I'm having a hot flash like the reviewer below.

Powder -Bare Escentuals - Bare Minerals in 1.2, fairly light
rated 4 of 5
chocmartini00 12/28/2006 10:07:00 AM

What I love the most about this product is that it's so fast and easy to put on in the morning and it doubles as a foundation and a concealor- just go over and apply more heavily with the concealor brush. It also looks really natural and it doesn't feel like you're wearing anything- plus there is spf already in it so it makes it even faster since I skip an extra step with my skincare in the morning. However, I always have to use a good base with this because it can make my skin feel a little itchy if I sweat. Also, I agree that this foundation only works best when your skin is flawless. If I have any problems with oiliness, breakouts, and especially dry skin I have to switch to a different foundation and powder for a while because I don't like how this applies and reacts with my skin when it's problematic.

Bronzers -Bare Escentuals - Faux Tan all-over face color
rated 5 of 5
chocmartini00 12/28/2006 10:02:00 AM

I can't say how much I love this bronzer. It's the PERFECT naturally tan color. Warmth was okay, but it was way too pigmented and had this strange way of making my whole face look red or orange even though I only applied it under my cheeks. The consistency and pigmentation is nice, but what I absolutely love about this product is the color. For reference I am Fairly Light/Light in BE foundations.

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-liner Gel in Waveline
rated 5 of 5
chocmartini00 12/28/2006 9:36:00 AM

I normally use Blacktrack but I like to use this on days when I want an eyeliner color that is not your usual boring black or brown. The formulation is excellent: extremely pigmented and won't budge until you remove it w/ eye makeup remover. The color is a gorgeous deep navy blue; I like super dark colors for eyeliners and this works beautifully.

Lipstick -MAC - Underplay [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
chocmartini00 12/28/2006 9:33:00 AM

This is my ultimate favorite peachy nude or nude l/s by far! It is not only the perfect color that doesn't wash me out but also the perfect formaltion: creamy and long lasting w/o being drying and extremely pigmented.

Lipstick -MAC - Impassioned (Amplified)
rated 5 of 5
chocmartini00 12/28/2006 9:31:00 AM

This is probably the only hot pink/fushia I have been able to pull of with my warm toned Asian skin. For reference I am Fairly Light/Light in BE and C3 in MAC. The reason why I can pull off this shade of hot pink is because it's mixed in with a bright coral. Also, this is my favorite MAC l/s formulation because it's extremely pigmented and ulta long lasting w/o drying out your lips at all. It's actually a very creamy consistency w/o being slippery or greasy. LOVE it!

Brows -Maybelline - Expert Eyes Twin Brow & Eye Pencils
rated 5 of 5
chocmartini00 12/28/2006 9:07:00 AM

I have used more expensive brow pencils in the past and I don't like spending a lot of money on something I use up so fast all the time. It seems like the more expensive brow pencils seem to be softer and therefore smudge and do not last long. This one is dirt cheap and comes in a 2-pack... mine came with a matching red sharpener. I have it in Blonde, which is a taupey color that is similar to Revlon Brow Fantasy in Dark Blonde. The texture of this pencil is really hard, which makes it easier to draw a precise line and also makes this product long lasting on your eyebrows. I don't understand though, why anyone would ever attempt to use this as an eyeliner!

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum Express Waterproof
rated 5 of 5
chocmartini00 12/28/2006 9:01:00 AM

This has been my HG mascara for around 2 years now. It's cheap and works better than some high end mascaras I have used in the past. It really holds a curl all day, makes your lashes look fuller, and does not smudge or flake off; the turbo version flaked on me. I have repurchased so many tubes of this... I usually wait for BOGO sales.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Pink Lemonade
rated 5 of 5
chocmartini00 12/28/2006 8:56:00 AM

This is a light milky corally peachy color that has pretty good pigmentation. It is sticky, which I like and therefore long lasting. I am a neutral or warm toned C3 and this pale creamy lipcolor looks great with a smokey eye.

Polishes -Revlon - Dark Pleasures - Patent Leather
rated 5 of 5
chocmartini00 12/28/2006 8:13:00 AM

This is really pricey for a drugstore nailpolish at around $7 USD and it's annoying because it's LE and hard to find... I only found it at Ulta. However it's a gorgeous color- shimmery black with silvery undertones, kind of metallic looking. The formula is thin and makes it easy to apply but you probably need 2 coats. On the nails it was kind of disappointing because it's much darker than it looks in the bottle... all of the complexity in the color you see in the bottle is gone when it's on your nails. On the nails it's just a glossy pure black and if you look up close really carefully, you can kind of see the shimmers just barely... I'm so glad I got this BOGO... I actually liked the "Talk Dirty" color much better although if you don't own a black n/p this one is a great one. *EDIT* Actually I really love this n/p now, I've had it on for several days and it still looks freshly painted on. The color is a pure deeply glossy black that is actually a complex and interesting shimmery black when viewed in bright daylight. Also the formula and the brush makes it super easy to apply.

Eye Shadow -Milani - Storm(#11)
rated 3 of 5
chocmartini00 12/28/2006 8:02:00 AM

This is a Milani shadow that I would not repurchase. The color is a black with sparkly silvery shimmer. It is nicely pigmented but it crumbles in the case and makes my makeup drawer or makeup bag really messy but even worse, while I'm applying it always falls on the tops of my cheeks ruining my makeup on my face every single time. Yes it's cheap and yes it's a pretty color but I'm thinking of getting rid of this and using MAC Black Tied instead when I need a shimmery/glittery black.
