Conditioner -Dove - Nourishing Oil Care Conditioner
chimmzy 5/5/2012 10:40:00 PM
My hair is thick, bleeched and dry - in need of very moisturizing products. I've been using salon brands exclusively for years, so imagene my surprice when Dove does the trick, almost as well as Redkens Real Control, which I love. This stuff along with the schampoo in the same line is really brilliant and outstanding in its price range. Will definitly buy again!

Treatments -Schwarzkopf - Gliss Daily Oil Elixir
chimmzy 5/5/2012 9:25:00 PM
I've tried a couple of hair oils and I wasn't really keen on buying this one - to me, it seemed like an obvious ripoff of Kerastases elixir. I run out of alternatives and just grabbed one of these in the store - hey, it's cheap and I'd rather try this one then go without anything at all. That's why I'm thrilled to say - worked like a charm! In my hair, anyway, and I've got oh so dry and overly bleeched strands. It's got a thick and almost sticky formula, which feels silicony and slippery on my hands. Once in my hair though, the result is nice, soft, not weight down or heavy at all. It might still be a ripoff, but a good one, atleast.

Conditioner -Redken - Real Control
chimmzy 1/10/2011 2:39:00 PM
My hair is really thick with a whole lot of fine strands. It's really dry and damaged due to coloring and I bought this in a giftset along with the schampoo and Redkens Power Straight. I got really dissapointed, for the price I paid I would have expected a lot more then just average, drug-store-brand-results. + Classic clean packaging. - Not very moisturizing. - Surprisingly cheap ingrediences for such an expensive lable, really just cones and fatty alcoholes. Parkii Shea Butter aswell, but far down the ingredience list. - Doesn't provide any slip, though lots of cones. - It doesn't matter if you leave it as a treatment, it doesn't seem to penetrate the hairshaft. - Doesn't smell as good as the schampoo. I won't buy it again, I wouldn't have even if it was half the price (Redken's really expensive in Sweden).

Treatments -Joico - Moisture Recovery Treatment Balm for thick or coarse hair
chimmzy 1/10/2011 4:23:00 AM
The Moisture Recovery conditioner is absolutely fantastic and my HG of all times. Unfortunatly, the treatment balm in the same line didn't perform - at all. It's thick & creamy and really look nurturing squeezed out of the tube, I'll give it that! But I find it hard to distribute evenly in wet hair without using to much, and once in hair, it really just sits there, it doesn't penetrate the surface and it's really not moisturizing on its own. I've tried it with heat, whitout heat, leaving it in for various minutes/hours, and the result is just not anything else then I get from a regular conditioner. The *only* excellent result I've had with this product, is when left in a damp bun over night. In the morning, the outcome is similar to when using the MR conditioner. That's not the way it's supposed to bu used though, and if I get the same result form 3 minutes with the MR cond, why buy the treatment at all? It's possible that the formula is just too thick for me, although my hair is really thick as I've got a lot of strands, they're really thin and fine. That could explain why so many have had excellent results with this product and some none at all. I won't repurchase, although I might try the lighter version for fine hair.

Conditioner -Unlisted Brand - The Egg Bomb
chimmzy 5/23/2010 5:51:00 PM
I've read somewhere that hair doesn't absorb egg protein as the molecules are too big. Or something like that, don't remember and it's not important to this review more then as a clue to why I couldn't see this mask as something that actually would work, or be diffrent to a regular evoo deep treatment. Well it helps for something! In some way, the egg brings extra moisture/protein/whatever and it sure makes a huge difference compared to just a pre wash oiling. I've used different oils and honey before in treatments, and I'm supriced to say, but this mix of ingredients seems to cooperate REALLY well and it's an excellent alternative to more expensive masks. It does strip color though, and it's messy, and smells -really- bad. But you just can't have it all and for this price, availability and result, I will absolutely try it again.

Styling Products -Sebastian - Shaper Plus Hairspray
chimmzy 5/6/2010 11:34:00 PM
Excellent hairspray, stays firm all night, adds shine, has a not-to-disturbing scent and brushes easily out. It might not be the holy grail of all hairsprays there is, but it live up to my expectations and it's definetly way better than cheaper versions. Will purchase again (if I manage to finish this one...).

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Oil Cleansing Method OCM
chimmzy 5/6/2010 7:51:00 PM
I keep trying this method over and over again, just to come to the same conclusion: It's not for me! I love the philosophy around this, it's natural, work with your skin and not against it, and so on. It works for about two weeks, two weeks with the smoothest skin ever. Then the clogged pores appears, out of nowhere, and it gets worse until I finally go back to my ordinary cleansing cermony with wash, tonic and cream. I've tried to wait it out, last time for two months, but finally had to stop as my cheek and neck got the worst acne that looked absolutely gross and the affected area just got bigger and bigger for each day. I've tried diffrent oils, I've tried diffrent washing off-methods, it's just not working.

Treatments -Joico - k-pak deep penetrating reconstructor
chimmzy 5/6/2010 6:07:00 PM
This is one of those HG´s that needs understanding to bloom out and actually become an HG. If you've already got all natural and healthy hair, this is not for you. You can't use it to prevent damage - your hair will become stiff and crunchy. But if your hair is in any way damaged from heat, color or bleach, it's the HG of all times and used in the right way it'll do exactly what it says on the tube; penetrate the hairshaft to reconstruct. And I love products that actually does what it promises! I use a small amount of this product, cover with a heat cap and leave it on for 10-30 minutes. My hair feels like such a mess while rinsing, like coated with something hard and yucky. It can't be said enough, this is not a product which will make your hair all detangled and conditioned - and it's not supposed to! As told by so many others, it HAS to be followed by something that adds moisture. I use Joicos Moisture Recovery conditioner, which in my opinion is the best one out there. I leave this one on as a mask - and voíla - beautiful hair, strong, healthy, SHINY, soft, detangled, smooth... Can't praise this combo enough and with that said, the result isn't nearly as good when I use only the conditioner. It took a few weeks before I could tell if it really worked, and I'm thrilled to say that I can see an improvement in the quality of my hair, the strength and the elasticity. Given some time and effort, Joicos K-Pak Reconstructor is a magic wand.

Hair -Unlisted Brand - Coconut Oil
chimmzy 5/4/2010 7:29:00 AM
Well how stupid do I feel after having purchased so many masks, conditioners and deep treatments. I've ordered them online, I've gotten them sent from abroad, I've spent half of my salary on these ridiculous expensive products that's really done nothing and nada to my hair in the end. And so I read about coconut oil. People kept raving about how brilliant it is for your hair, how it softens and moisturizes and adds shine. I want all of that! And so I purchased a jar. I rubbed it into dampened hair as a pre wash treatment and left it on for a couple of hours - bom!, shiny, bouncy, smooth, silky locks. Just like that! Nothing fancy, it says nothing at all about HAIR on the lable, no promises, no expectations to live up to, just plain oil which just happened to smell and work WONDERS! Of all HG's there is, this must be the most honest one. Now, I'm not saying this is cheap - I paid as much for a large jar of extra virgin Coconut oil, as I did for my last Kerastase deep treatment. (Might be extra expensive in Sweden though...) But I'll repurchase again and again and again, as you can use it pre-during-post wash, as a leave in, as a DT, as shine serum, as natural sun screen for your hair - and the list goes on - as a body moisturizer, make up remover, hand lotion, as an addition in your food for healthy fats. Could there be anything more versatile and natural than - Coconut oil?

Treatments -Boots - no7 Protect and Perfect beauty serum
chimmzy 5/3/2010 3:29:00 PM
No improvement in skin what so ever and my first tube is almost finished. Not sure if my recent breakouts comes from this or hormones, either way, the fine lines are still there, as visible as always. This is a primer, not skincare, and when the silicones are washed away, the effect is gone.

Conditioner -Aussie - Miracle Moist conditioner for dry/damaged hair
chimmzy 5/1/2010 5:48:00 PM
Top Notch of drug store brands - I will buy this over and over again just for the smell of it. All of Aussies products smells divine! As for a miracle, no it's not. Very moisturizing, nope, it's not. The schampoo in the same line is very drying, use another one and let this condish sit for maybe an hour - the result is very smooth and sleek hair where the scent lingers.

Love it! Best heat defence I've ever tried and I've used plenty, most of them 3 times as expensive as this one. It's a must have for every long haired woman!

Styling Products -Kerastase - Nectar Thermique
chimmzy 5/1/2010 12:36:00 PM
Update: I wrote an upset review for this product a couple of weeks ago, telling you guys just how bad it smells and how I expected so much more from a product in this price range. I just updated my rating from 2 lipsticks to 4... Hey! A girl can have a change of heart, right? It's quite good. Actually, Nectar Thermique is more then quite good, it's almost brilliant and near an HG... I was so impatient to see a result and the first uses let me down so hard, I thought this product would change the status of my hair from day one, and no it didn't. But after a few weeks, I've started to see a result. The first thing I had to learn about N T, was how much product to use. My hair is very dry and I need quite a lot of this product, it says to use a walnut size on the bottle, and that's how much I need. The second thing was how to distribute it. I put it on the ends, then the lengths, then the scalp. All the way through, and I really take time to massage it toroughly into the strands. I also let it sit a couple of minutes before blow drying. I bet you don't need to do the same procedure, but if you've bought this and don't really get it, like me, this might help? I re-apply day two after wash with excellent result, it acts softening and slightly de-frizzing on dry hair. The result is very shiny, bouncy, not-at-all heavy hair. Have in mind that my hair is extremely dry and applying so much product and so near your scalp will probably not work for everyone. But it's a must for me, and having done so, I'll have to call it money well spent and yes, I'll probably repurchase a new bottle even before this one is empty, just to make sure I don't stand without one morning. The scent though... Yuck. That's still not acceptable.

Treatments -Goldwell - Soft Color Foam Colorant
chimmzy 5/1/2010 9:49:00 AM
I'm a natural blonde (typical swedish fine hair) and I recently dyed my hair dark brown. You can see the growth after just a few days and it looks like I'm going bald which is making me crazy - I would NOT have survived without this EXCELLENT foam color to touch up between the visits to my hairdresser! I'm using 5N which actually looks quite dark in my hair and it gives the exact natural, not to golden, brown shade I'm looking for. It lasts about 10 washes for my just-past-shoulder-length hair, it's cheap, it covers up my new growth, it makes my hair really shiny and soft. I leave it on for a lot longer then the recommended 5-15 minutes though, about 30-60 minutes, so you need patience to get a perfect result.

Shampoo -Matrix - So Silver

Good schampoo, does what it promises in keeping yellow tones away, not to drying and lasts forever. It would be a 5 if it didn't smell like bad perfume for men.
