Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Eyes Creme Eyeliner - Black
chimichanga 11/1/2010 6:40:00 PM
I'm pretty clumsy and have never been able to apply eye liner with any skill. (Granted, I've only tried a few times and I quickly gave up and went back to pencil eye liner.) I read here (thanks MakeupAlley!) about this eye liner and, since it's cheap, I decided to get it and try it out. (If I didn't like it, I could always give it to my 18 yr old daughter, after all.) Anyway, this was easier to apply than I expected!! I smudged the line with a Qtip to soften it and that went perfectly (no messes). Once it was set, it was super long-lasting! I'm very satisfied and will repurchase :) I find the brush to be very hard, though. (It can even hurt!)

Bronzers -Too Faced - Chocolate Soleil
chimichanga 11/1/2010 6:19:00 PM
I have NEVER liked bronzers. I despise looking orange. But one day I asked a friend where she'd been for the weekend as she looked *sun-kissed* and she said she used a Sephora brand bronzer. I thought then that I should maybe give bronzers a try.... maybe they are better nowadays. So I went to Sephora and said that I wanted to try a bronzer that would NOT make me look orange and WAS NOT sparkly. The woman showed me Too Face's Chocolate Soleil and I fell in love. It is perfect!! The chocolate smell makes it such a delight to put on! I brush it on daily with a powder brush over my cheeks and bridge of my nose (like blush) and sometimes a touch on my forehead. This is the world's best bronzer. I'm convinced of that.

Liquid -Lancome - Teint Idole Fresh Wear
chimichanga 10/1/2010 1:36:00 PM
I bought this foundation after trying several (Sephora gave me samples). I finally decided on this one because I liked how it looked on me (very natural and yet with med to light coverage) and it seemed to wear well. My opinion one month later: Nope, it's not for me. I find my face to be very, very shiny within a few hours. The package claims that it lasts 18 hours. Really? Oh, well, not on me.

Fragrances -Narciso Rodriguez - Narciso Rodriguez for her
chimichanga 10/1/2010 1:23:00 PM
With the plethora of fragrances available nowadays it's quite a feat that a perfume would inspire me enough to write a review here :) That's for starters! One day I put a sample of Narciso Rodriguez's perfume (on one of those cardboard tester thingys) in my purse. Days later I pulled something out of my purse and it smelled of this perfume... and it became an *obsession* for me. I knew right then and there that I had just found my signature scent! I decided to buy a bottle.... but oh dear, which one? The EDT (black bottle) or the EDP (pink bottle)? Everytime I walked by a perfume counter, I'd try one or the other. I finally bought EDT (through an eenie-meenie-miney-moe process). I've been using it now for over a year on a daily basis. My problem (if you want to call it that) with this perfume is that I can't smell it on myself! :( However, if I pick up a sweater or a scarf that I've worn it with.... I just LOOOOOVE the smell of it still lingering. But I absolutely can hardly ever smell it on myself. I think I'll get the pink bottle (EDP) next time.... just to see if I can smell it more. Summary: I find it an extremely clean and classy and sexy scent and it infatuates me. Only complaint: The bottle must have some sort of plastic coating on it... and it's peeled off in the center of my bottle and it looks ugly. Maybe my bottle is defective because I don't see Sephora's bottles looking like that and it surely gets handled more than mine!

I want this product to come back SO BAD! Ocean Waves was, by far, the BEST hair product I have ever used in my life! I was traumatized when this product was discontinued :( Traumatized. Please John Frieda.... bring it back. I promise I will buy it again in abundance... and I will tell everyone I know to buy and use it. Please, please!

Liquid -Clinique - Even Better Makeup SPF 15
chimichanga 4/5/2010 6:05:00 PM
At first I didn't care for this foundation. I apply it with a brush and after a few hours would discover orangy streaks on my forehead. Ew. But, since I'd bought it, I wasn't about to throw it away.... so I continued using it and I must admit that I've gotten used to it. It's not all that bad. It's just not all that good.

Powder -L'Oreal - Bare Naturale Powdered Mineral Foundation
chimichanga 12/14/2007 8:00:00 PM
This product covers too well. If you use it very sparingly, maybe it would be OK. But after an hour my pores were teeny oil spots that made the powder look like it had little holes. (But when you first apply it, it does look great.) Gives a dullish look. I didn't care for it. Bare Escentuals isn't all hype.... it was first and is better. I have returned to liquid foundations myself, however. The coverage is more natural and looks much better on me.

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear (old formula)
chimichanga 12/14/2007 7:38:00 PM
I love DW. I used it for many years and then I tired of it. I switched to Clinique's Superfit make-up (which was good but....) then to Prescriptives Virtual Skin (great but it's lighter coverage than DW and doesn't last as long). After a couple of years, I returned to Double Wear. It has a perfect coverage (medium) and it really does stay put all day. I do notice slight t-zone shine after a few hours but blotting paper takes care of that :) I only wish that it came in a pump bottle. Non-pumps travel bad - the neck of the bottle gets all goopy and I hate that :(
