Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Plus Smoothing Essentials Fast Absorbing Lotion
chevycamarolvr 9/2/2012 7:03:00 PM
I tend to get pretty dry skin on my legs and I was looking for a body lotion with AHA to help kind of exfoliate everything. I was happy when I found this in store. Reasonably priced for a good size bottle.... And then I actually tried it. I don't like the smell and it's greasy, greasy, greasy. I could use the tiniest amount and rub it in forever but it would never actually absorb. I'd end up wiping my legs down with a towel before getting dressed for fear that I'd leave grease marks on my pants. I used maybe a 1/3 of the bottle before I threw it in the trash. I won't be purchasing this again.

Misc Beauty Tools -Tarte - Picture Perfect Eyelash Curler
chevycamarolvr 9/2/2012 6:54:00 PM
Cheaply made, designed poorly and breaks way too easily. I've now had three of these and each one has had the spring on it snap. This last one I've only had a couple months. If they had "normal" ring finger inserts instead of the silly paddle-like handles I'd still be able to use it even with the broken spring. (Whose idea was it to have the paddles anyway? It's not the easiest to hang onto even when it isn't broken). I also found it odd that I could never get replacement pads. Though if it breaks well before you even wear a pad out I suppose it doesn't matter. I have a cheap, $6 curler from the drugstore that doesn't curl as well as this does, but I've had it for years and I don't have to worry about it snapping in half when I've only gotten one eye done. (I can also get additional pads for it too!) All that being said, it does curl my lashes better than anything else I've used so far. I'm just not willing to spend another $16 to replace my THIRD broken one. (Also, I tried to post my review on Tarte's website. It said it was "submitted for review". Over a week later and it's still not displayed. Do they only approve good reviews??)

Treatments -Sally Hansen - Instant Cuticle Remover
chevycamarolvr 2/12/2012 11:20:00 PM
I haven't tried many cuticle removers, but after using this I don't think I need to. It's effective and works quickly. It keeps my cuticles in top shape. I can tell when I've gone too long between uses as my cuticles will start to get overgrown and begin to catch/tear on things. I absolutely love this stuff!

Cleansers -Biore - Shine control cream cleanser
chevycamarolvr 9/9/2006 5:16:00 PM
I got a sample of this in the mail....
I don't like the smell at all. Too perfume-y and just about made me nauseous. It was too thick for my liking - I'm partial to gel cleansers and don't really like the thick creams. It didn't feel like it cleaned my face well enough and left a weird feeling... My face wasn't dry and there wasn't a weird film or anything, it just didn't feel right. Didn't do much to control shine either. I have combo/oily skin and I was shiney just a couple hours later (which happens to me noramlly anyway).
I'm happy I got a sample of this for free. I would've been disappointed if I had spent any money on it. I definitely won't be purchasing this in the future.

Primer/ Corrector -Mary Kay - Oil Mattifier
chevycamarolvr 9/6/2006 11:31:00 AM
Works well on my oily Tzone. Seems to keep the greasies at bay for an extra couple of hours... Be careful about applying too much though, it can give you a white, chalky look if you do. It's a bit expensive ($15.00 for .6 oz), but since I use so little it lasts quite a while.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aspirin Mask
chevycamarolvr 9/6/2006 10:25:00 AM
I'm jumping on the aspirin mask bandwagon... Tried it last night for the first time. I dissolved 5 generic, uncoated aspirin ($.94 for 200 at Walmart!) in a bit of water, added a squeeze of aloe vera gel and slathered it on my face for about 20 minutes. It got very flaky/dusty as it dried and if I moved at all bits would fall off, but it's not the end of the world....
It pulled all the gunk from a couple small whiteheads to the surface so I was *finally* able to extract 'em, and the redness of a hormonal zit was greatly reduced. The smaller blackheads on my nose were removed, I may try it again tonight to see if it'll get rid of the larger ones. The pores all over my face seem smaller. Next time I see a blemish coming, I'll try using this as a spot treatment to stop it in it's tracks and reduce the redness. (Keeping my fingers crossed, hope it works!)
It's very drying, which is fine if you have oily/combo skin like mine, but I wouldn't recommend this if you're dry at all... We'll see if it has any effect on how quickly my forehead turns into an oil slick today.
Great, cheap little mask for oily/combo/acne prone skin like mine!

Lotions/ Creams -Jergens - Original Scent Lotion
chevycamarolvr 9/6/2006 10:03:00 AM
Love it! The cherry almond scent is nice and sweet without being over powering. The smell doesn't last too long though, but at least then it doesn't interfere with my perfume. Nice, creamy texture and moisturizes well enough to keep my skin silky soft all through the (Wisconsin) winter. Absorbs quickly and leaves no greasy/filmy residue behind. Wonderful lotion for the cheap price tag. My bathroom will always have a bottle of it on the counter!

Lotions/ Creams -Suave - Cucumber Melon Lotion
chevycamarolvr 9/6/2006 9:57:00 AM
Has a nice smell, but it doesn't last. It's a bit too thin... If there's any moisture on my skin at all, it seems like the lotion turns to water and doesn't do a thing. Might be okay if you live in warmer climates where you don't need much moisturizing, but this isn't even close to being good enough for Wisconsin winters!

Eyes -Unlisted Brand - Lucia Eyebrow-Lash Essence
chevycamarolvr 9/5/2006 7:17:00 PM
Purchased this in an attempt to regrow the small bald spots in my eyelashes...
Seems to be doing the trick. It's been about two weeks and the bald spot is already beginning to fill in with new lashes. It's sold in Japan, so it's hard to get in the US. Had to purchase through eBay for about $35. Worth the price though. I will definitely purchase another tube before I run out!

Moisturizers -Olay - Complete with SPF 15 Lotion
chevycamarolvr 9/5/2006 7:13:00 PM
Decent stuff... Worked well with my combo/oily skin. Absorbed well and didn't cause breakouts. A little too liquidy for my taste, I tend to like thicker lotions and gels, but I can get over that. The squeeze bottle is nice (jars are horrible, too high of a contamination risk).

Moisturizers -Mary Kay - Intense Moisturizing Cream
chevycamarolvr 9/5/2006 7:09:00 PM
I have combo/oily skin with dry, flaky patches during the winter.... Purchased this to use for the dry spots. This just sat on top of my skin and never absorbed. I just had *greasy* dry, flaky patches. I'm not a big fan of the jar packaging either...

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Special Effects FX Extreme Shine
chevycamarolvr 9/5/2006 6:45:00 PM
Horrible, horrible stuff. I put two sprays in my shoulder length hair.... Instantly turned my whole head into a greasy, oily mess. Will never buy again!
The only reason this got one lippie is because it won't let me give it 0!

Styling Products -Got 2 Be - Dazzling shine spray
chevycamarolvr 8/13/2006 12:53:00 AM
Use this every day.... Increases shine without making your hair look greasy or weighing it down. I live in an area that can be moderately hot and humid and this keeps the humidity frizzies down to a minimum.

I use this every day after blow dying & flat ironing my hair. Really helps to keep split ends and frizzies away... Love this stuff... It is a bit pricey, but since you only need a little bit it lasts while.
