Mascara -Kiss Me - HEROINE MAKE volume and curl mascara (black)
rated 3 of 5

I've been using this mascara for a past week and so far its okay. It took me forever to find this macara. Im currently living in calgary, i went home to vancouver for a week and met up with a girl on craigslist to get my hands on it for a reasonable price. Im not too crazy about mascaras with fibrewig in it. The formula/texture itself is a little on the dry side. It doesn't create too much volume, i have to put on about 3-4coats to get my desired length/volume. On the plus side though, it does hold a curl very very well and it is very waterproof. I use the covergirl makeup remover and it works well with removal. The small brush is slightly curved so you do get a better angle of applying to the lashes. No flakies or smudges yet. I havent made up my mind to repurchase yet, i'll update a few weeks.

Cleansers -Christian Dior - Cleansing Gelee for Face, Lips and Eyes
rated 4 of 5
cheryhouse 7/16/2009 9:56:00 PM

I am so glad i bought this, I'm going through a remover phase and i found the best removers for heavy duty are the oil or lotion type, the dual phase ones you have to shake each time you use it succcckkk. The price is steep for just an eye makeup remover but it's worth it because i haven't found any other remover or cleansers that takes off my waterproof mascara completely without tugging or pulling out my lashes(I've tried many!). I thought my shu cleansing oil was good, this is better. The texture feels gelee but looks like a lotion. There also is a mild fragrance scent, it's nice and soft. The packaging is nice and the pump easily dispenses the product. I only use this for my eyes or whenever I've got heavy duty makeup on. I wouldn't go out and buy a full bottle, try to get a mini size or even a sample to see if you like it. The last one I'm gonna test out is the DHC one which is suppose to be amazing. I'll update once i write a review for it.

Lip Gloss -Beaute Cosmetics - Luminous Volume Gloss
rated 5 of 5
cheryhouse 3/14/2009 3:44:00 PM

I bought this in SkinTrade and i love it! It texture and pigmentation is perfect, not too sticky and enough color to make a difference on my pigmented lips. I love how it doesn't settle into my lip lines/creases like many other milky-looking glosses. Its unscented which is a bonus. Its also definitely alot more moisturizing than most others. You get a generous amount. Skintrade is definitely a YLBB J-Lo, milky nude. If i can recall correctly i think it was about...$26 CDN. The only thing that i was kinda annoyed with was with the brush tip, mine came all twisted up and scrumpled? like a small spikey ball. I honestly think it was just the one * i * got because the testers weren't like that, which is why it did not effect the rating i gave for the product. Overall this collection of glosses are excellent and the next time i go to Holts i will buy the whole collection. I hope Beau expans his line because i will definitely try them all!

Loose Powders -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Loose Powder
rated 4 of 5
cheryhouse 3/11/2009 3:24:00 AM

OoO very nice. I'm not too fond of many translucent powders but i really like this one. I absolutely love the finish of this powder, it's super silky and the finish feels like...well this sounds really weird but if smashbox photo finish was in a powder form, i think this would be it it. My skin feels soooo smooth and satin-y. I like how this is true to its No color concept. My face was pretty matte for most of my working day. It hasn`t broke me out but so far its awesome. I`ll update a month later. It was pricey though..about $32 CDN :P The jar is pretty freaken small but a little goes a long way. I actually almost passed it by until the MU guy said i *have* to try it, and i`m really glad i did.

Treatments -Kerastase - Ciment Thermique
rated 5 of 5

i think i paid about $40-50 ish CDN for this small tube at holt renfrew's salon. I litterally went around everywhere to find this. I don't know what the heck is in this stuff but its amazing! According to the directions manual, you're suppose shampoo, don't condition, then towel dry, and then apply a generous walnut size amount mid-hair to ends. I was seriously reconsidering whether it was gonna work because my hair felt like crap because i didn't condition my hair. So after working in the product and blow drying, i used a wide comb brush and OMG. My hair look...fabulous! No frizzies, soft and smelled wonderful. I didn't even use my flat iron, my hair just fell into the perfect place. My hair is thick coarse, damaged by coloring and constantly using heat tools. I am a hard girl to please and i have pretty high standards for most products. This was well worth my money and i will repurchase! Although the tube is small it's worth every penny. One more thing, the scent is beautiful, to me...it was like a citrus-y...fresh peach blend? whatever it is..it smells lovely :)

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Iconic High Definition Lash Curler Mascara
rated 1 of 5
cheryhouse 3/7/2009 4:07:00 AM

This was definitely one of the worst purchases of the year. Not only did it cost me a fortune it suckkkkkedd. I have pinner asian lashes and it did absolutely nothing for them. The only thing it did do was separate my lashes. The end results were very natural. It didn`t flake or clump either. It did however, smear, undo my curl, and i had to put on like 5 coats for it to actually look like i`m wearing mascara. My lashes looked pathetic. After testing it for a week i dumped it in the trash. I think this would be a good option for somebody that already has full luscious lashes who just want to definition. If your looking for a W0W mascara, try something else.

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Mascara
rated 3 of 5
cheryhouse 3/7/2009 3:56:00 AM

I found this mascara to be average, i was so excited to try it because everybody keeps talking about it. For it`s price it was just ok, nothing spectacular. No clumps, flaking, nice separation but did smudge a bit half way through my day. The brush itself is really big, similar to Benefits bad lash, but it doesn`t bother me. The formula is a nice too, not too wet not too dry. Overall it was decent...i don`t think i`ll be dishing out $31 again anytime soon.

Self Tanners -St.Tropez - Tinted Self-Tanning Lotion
rated 4 of 5
cheryhouse 3/7/2009 3:48:00 AM

For the past 6months i`ve tested about 11 different kinds of self tanner. I kinda went on a crazy shopping spree and i`m finally almost finished my testings. Out of all the ones i`ve tried, the color of this self tanner is the most realistic color next to a real tan. I`m trying to perfect the art of self tanning..its really hard to get it perfect, I`m not sure if i ever will, i find it extremely hard not to streak, even with all the advice. Exfoliating, moisturizing, bare hands, gloves, you name it. The scent is not that rancid, its kinda floral-powdery. It doesn`t last that long, i`d say maybe..2-3 days. The one nice thing i really like about this is that, when you do shower the morning after the streaks are gone, but so is a bit of the color. Beware and be cautious when you go to bed, the color does tranfer onto sheets. I think this is the last bottle of tanner i`ll be buying, its just too much work for always so-so results, and even though i liked the color out of the rest of em, it doesn`t beat out the color of the sun or tanning beds.

Mascara -Too Faced - Lash Injection
rated 2 of 5
cheryhouse 3/7/2009 3:32:00 AM

I wanted to try a "tubing" mascara and i decided this one would be my first. I really only bought it because i heard it was Kim Kardashians favorite mascara. Anyways for it's price $30CAN its not worth it. Maybe i got a bad one er..something (heh, i always like to blame it on the batch :s ) The formula was extremely dry and i had to literally put on 4-5 coats! It also actually looked pretty spidery at the end. The reason why i gave it 2 lippies is because it held my curl extremely well and it wasn't too painful to wash off. Also the scent was kinda nice...kinda orange-y? i can`t describe it but it wasn't bad. I curled my eyelashes after i put this on and suprizingly it looked pretty good, i was really shocked. It did not smudge either. If you wear contacts do not even bother trying it at all, it flaked all day, i kept flicking flakes off my face at work. There are more cons to this mascara than pros...so therefore i will not be repurchasing.

Pressed Powders -Too Faced - Absolutely Invisible
rated 3 of 5
cheryhouse 3/5/2009 5:53:00 AM

This pressed powder was just another average translucent powder. Honestly... i think you can find much better for the $$ you're dishing out. I bought this while i was on a crazy impulsive makeup spree, i was like "...well you can never have too many powders right?" so i just bought it cuz...well translucent powders are fool-proof and no matter what, it will do its job of eliminating shine. I liked the packaging it was super cute. As far as controling shine, it was decent, after a couple hours i was very shiny again. It didn't break me out and the powder was finely milled. It just wasn't a w0wing product for me to repurchase.

Lip Gloss -GirLActik - Orange twist
rated 4 of 5
cheryhouse 3/5/2009 5:40:00 AM

I love this lipgloss to death, what a pretty shade. It's a milky peach with a hint of pink with no shimmer/pearl. Don't be put off by the color you see on the outside, its a little bright looking. I almost didn't even look at it, the sales associate had to suggest it to me, i was like.."yea right, too bright" it looked like a solid orange-coral color to me. It has just the right amount of pigment too it, not too sheer or laquered looking. This gloss makes my lips look plump. The texture is great too, not tacky/sticky and not greasy. The only thing you *might* be put off by it is the scent, its a sickly sweet candy scent. It doesn't bother me, but girls that are sensitive to smell, try it before you buy it. I'm LLL and it looks awesome, but it looks even better on dark skinned girls. I can't wait till i get a tan, then i can look extra fabulous :)

Mascara -Lancome - Hypnose
rated 3 of 5
cheryhouse 2/22/2009 4:29:00 AM

Not bad...not bad at all. I wouldn't call it my favorite mascara but it's definately worth looking into. Try to get it through a GWP when they're doing it. The formula is..not too wet or dry. It builds up pretty good volume and separates pretty well but if you're looking for dramatic lashes i'd try something else. It's not clumpy or flakey. It did smear just a little, but i think its because it was hot during the day. What i loved about this mascara was the brush? it glided very easily and the bristles were very soft and not scratchy? overall i did like it...im not too sure if i'll repurchase because there are better mascaras but if i get it for free i'll use it up instead of throwing it in the trash like i did the Flextincils lol.

Skincare - Body -Bio Oil - All Products
rated 4 of 5
cheryhouse 2/19/2009 2:49:00 AM

After reading many reviews and after always passing it by at my local drugstore i finally bought it. It was kind of an impulse buy. I didn't need it that bad, so i always said, "next time." Im glad this impulse buy was a good one. I've been pretty much using it every day..after showering. I've been using it for about...a month now? I have a weird skin patchy birthmark on my lower back.. and honestly i never thought it would ever go away. It kinda looks like discolored hyperpigmentation. Anyways, it's all gone on the right side and the left side has reduced by half!!! I can't believe it actually worked! Also it always leave my skin feeling super supple and soft. I will definately repurchase this! The reason why i didn't give it 5 lippies is because of the smell. The scent is kinda like....cheap floral hand lotion that my physics teacher wore *ewww* Oh yes, one more thing, so far it hasn't reduced any stretch marks maybe if i keep using it longer. I will also update my review after 3 months to tell all :)

Lotions/ Creams -Artistry - Creme Caramel Hand Cream
rated 5 of 5
cheryhouse 1/16/2009 3:27:00 AM

All i can say about this product is that it is IDENTICAL to Laura Mercier's creme brulee hand lotion. I did i side by side comparison in look, texture, feel, scent, application and moisture factor. I even asked my sister if she could tell which is which. The scent is beautiful..like warm caramel candy? i dunno, but its heavenly sweet :) I think its cheaper than the LM one, i'm not too sure because i got it as a gift from my mom. If i recall correctly the LM one is a little over 20$ maybe 25$? 2oz. 50ml. Its pretty small. They are both 2oz. so whichever is cheaper, i'll repurchase. The moisture factor is good too, it does its job without being greasy. Overall a very nice hand cream(well...i think more like lotion). If your looking for moisture therapy for very dry hands i'd use something more emollient.

Lip Treatments -Paula's Choice - Moisturizing Lipscreen SPF 15 (stick)
rated 3 of 5
cheryhouse 12/15/2007 6:57:00 AM

This lipbalm is decent. It's not wonderful/amazing but it does do the job, it protects it from the sun. It leaves a white-ish cast on my lips, like a nude tint almost? I actually don't mind the color because it tone downs my pigmented lips just don't go crazy with the amount you put on, just a little coat on your lips does it fine. The two thing i didn't like about this balms was 1: i can taste the sunscreen-y flavor? to it(it's mild, but i can still taste it). and 2: it wasn't the best moisturizing balm, it didn't try out my lips but it didn't make them super soft. Overall it wasn't too bad, i think i will repurchase because i love the spf in it.
