Liquid -MAC - Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation

I got a sample of this awhile back and never tried it until this past weekend, I was bored and decided to pull it out and give it a try. At first I loved the way it covered and thought it looked real nice. So I ventured out to the nearest MAC counter and purchased full size along with Blot powder everyone seems to rave about. Well, I wore this foundation Sunday-Wed and noticed everday at work my face around my chin and mouth felt itchy. Drove me nuts because I hate touching my face after makeup all done. Then I notice by end of day my face looked way darker and almost orangey. The final straw was when I just happen to take a closer look in my bathroom mirror with brighter lights then my usual makeup mirror and that is when I was HORRIFIED! Upon close inspection the foundation has smeared all over my face, especially upper lip and around nose and the powder was all cakey and balled up looking. It disgusted me so much I instantly pulled my hair back and washed my entire face, and had to re-do my makeup. I was embarrassed to think I had just run out doing errands to grocery store, banks, etc looking that way! I grabbed the box and receipt so fast and headed back to Macy's to return. All I can say is YUCK. I am not sure what the hype is behind MAC, but I am having real hard time finding anything great about it. Their foundations feel very Mask like. I am a true Lancome girl and will stick with my teint miracle foundation and never stray again!

BB Cream -Maybelline - Dream Fresh 8-in-1 BB Cream

Well, I guess BB creams are not for me. This is the 2nd one I've tried (Garnier 1st) so far, and not impressed. I guess I don't get all the hype around BB creams and what they are suppose to do. It looks like there is nothing on me, so why even bother. It just seems like a tinted lotion or something. I like a regular light weight sheer to medium liquid foundation way better then this stuff. Maybe the higher end BB creams are better?

Mascara -BeneFit Cosmetics - They're Real

I have been researching tons and buying several kinds of mascara trying to find that HG one. So for in drugstore brands, to me L'oreal takes the prize for best. But, I still wanted a nicer quality one, and narrowed down to Benefit or Buxom. Went to Ulta, and since they no longer sell Buxom (Sephora exclusive now), I bought this one. Got the deal with 2 that is same price for one! Let me tell you, I LOVE this mascara. This mascara made my lashes look better then ever. I only put on one coat. I was a bit worried when it was time to wash my face and take off for night. I had zero problems taking off this mascara. I even got my eye makeup remover all ready, and didn't really need it! Mine came off with my L'oreal youth code cleanser. I am wondering if it's because I coated my lashes with Lancome Cils Booster XL before applying the mascara? One thing to mention too, is this mascara passed the onion test.(lol) I was cutting onions, and I am super sensitive to them and my eyes were burning and tearing bad, I had to keep blotting my eye with tissue to point I thought I was going to see racoon eyes, but there was nothing! This mascara is definatley a keeper for my makeup collection.

I bought this mascara recently based on the reviews I read on here, and have to say I returned mine already. Maybe I got a bad one? I find the formula was very dry. I love L'oreal mascaras, they seem to work so much better.

I think I have found my HG! First let me say I am approaching 40 and my whole life up until now loved the whole "matte" look on my face. Well, I recently noticed my face does not like that matte look! I have been on the hunt like many of you for that "perfect" foundation. I have excellent skin, (get many compliments on it) but do have the starting of lines at bridge of nose (squinting at computer too much!), and under eyes, and crows feet. Any foundation too matte seems to settle into any fine lines and make me look way older! So I started to do ALOT of research and read reviews on here, and kept reading about the "dewey" look. I finally decided maybe this is the route I need to take with my foundation. I got a sample of this at my local Macy's and the girl colormatched me perfectly! (Bisque 1) I came home, washed my face, applied foundation with brush method, and wow, IN LOVE with this foundation. It gives me a perfect glow all over but not shiney. I do get a little shiney around nose and center of chin, so I do a very light dusting of loose translucent powder (L'oreal) just in the areas that shine more. This foundation is so nice, I can't believe I didn't try sooner! I will say, I found one drugstore brand I love as well, and it't the L'oreal Colormatch Lumi foundation. That also gives me nice glow. I feel like they are almost the same, just one is drugstore and other is department store, and both come from same maker? I went to Lancome counter today to purchase full size of the foundation because love so much! I am so glad I stepped outside of the thinking box, and decided to go the dewey route, because that is the kind of look that makes me look younger. Matte was great when I was teens through my 20's, now not so flattering.

Crème -MAC - Mineralize Foundation
rated 1 of 5
cheriebeary73 9/25/2012 8:06:00 PM

I have been on this site reading many reviews on all kinds of makeup, and based on what I read, I plan my attack for the store and pick up various items to try, and get samples whenever I can. I kept seeing alot of people talk about Mac and what # they are etc etc..well out of curiosity I ran to my local Macy's just to get a sample of a MAC foundation. The girl there picked this particular one for me. (not sure why) She only asked what kind of coverage I like, and I told her medium. So I go on my merry way with my little teeny tiny sample..I mean geez could she spare it or what! So the next day I decide to wash my face, moisturize, then give this a try. Not knowing how the heck to put this on, I figured well just use my fingers. OMG what a NIGHTMARE! This cream felt like drywall spackle to me! I swear my husband could use this to mud the walls in our house! This is medium coverage? I'd hate to see full! So I proceeded to put it on, and I notice it seemed to cake up in the nose area, and it felt like I could keep smearing it around forever, like it sat on top my skin. I instantly noticed it was drying down to a powdery kind of look and settling in lines making my forehead look crinkly--I HATE THAT! It seem to make my lines around my eyes more prominent and noticeable. Oh btw the girl matched me to NW20 and it made my face lighter then my neck! I'm 39 and have really great skin, with barely any lines! To give you an idea, I have been mistaken for being 26, and some people think my 18yr old son and I are brother and sister! LOL So I really don't get the whole hype of MAC stuff I guess. I did check out the eyeshadows while there, and they look nice and may have to give those a try sometime. But for foundation, I will stick with my good old drugstore (L'Oreal) brand for now! So far I am having the best luck with DS brands!

BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Light/Medium
rated 3 of 5
cheriebeary73 9/25/2012 8:29:00 AM

I started hearing all this buzz about BB creams and decided to try this one to see what all the hype is about. I have really good skin for a 39yr old, but still prefer more of a medium coverage for my face to make it look flawless. When I applied this, it reminds me of a colored lotion with strong scent. Everytime I moved I kept getting whiffs of this coming from my face, the scent reminded me of something my mother used when I was a kid, can't remember what it was. I don't like a scent on my face for sure! It really didn't cover much so why bother? I ended up returning it, and at this point think BB creams are not really for me. I may try the Maybelline one just out of curiosity though.

Foundations -Cover Girl - Covergirl and Olay Tone Rehab 2 in 1 Foundation
rated 5 of 5
cheriebeary73 9/18/2012 10:54:00 PM

I just bought and tried this tonight as a test on one side of my face, and the other I put another one I just bought. (L'oreal Lumi True match) on other side. They looked almost identical. After about an hour the Lumi one go more shiney around nose and chin. I put a very light dusting of Covergirl translucent loose powder with big brush and it now looks fantastic! I get like this kind of matte but not that chalky ugly dry look. I see slight dewey sheen trying to come through. The makeup did NOT settle into my fine lines under eyes and crows feet, which is awesome! The makeup felt so light, it didn't even feel like I was wearing any. Just a fyi- I also own Revlon CS in both the regular bottle and the newer cream one in jar and they both feel heavy and masky to me. I thought I loved those until I tried this Cover girl and the L'oreal one. Now I know what the one girl at Sephora, and a Estee Lauder rep at Macys meant when they both told me I did not need a full coverage foundation, they said I had beautiful skin and need only tinted moisturizer or very light wearing foundation. But of course I was determined to get full coverage one, (like what do they know..lol) and I keep getting nasty results of cakey, chalky, settling in lines making me look old!. --duh ..should listen to the pro's! The true test is to take a mirror OUTSIDE and look at yourself! YOU WILL BE AMAZED at what you see! I was horrified today when I took one look in that mirror at my face with the Revlon. When I wear Revlon CS, especially with powder, I look too made up with a mask, powder settling in lines making me look 10yrs older! It's really weird because I put makeup on in one of those lighted magnified mirror and I thought it looked good until today. I am just horrified with myself I never realized it looked this bad. My lines are not even that bad, but they somehow look way worse when makeup settles in them. Now when I put this Covergirl one and look in mirror my skin looks evened out, flawless, younger, no matter what lighting, mirror etc! just Amazing! The L'oreal Lumi one is great too. I bought both based on reviews here, thinking I will take one back. But nope, I am keeping both and the Revlon CS cream and powder is going back to the store asap!

Liquid -L'Oreal - Visible Lift Serum Absolute Advanced Age-Reversing Makeup
rated 5 of 5
cheriebeary73 12/19/2011 7:43:00 PM

I just bought this today and tested today. This foundation gives my skin a semi-matte to matte look which I love. It makes my skin look absolutely gorgeous! I apply the foundation with my fingers or a brush and let dry 5-10 minutes then finish off lightly with pressed powder. My face looked like a porcelain doll. After a couple of hours I checked in mirror and still looked very matte and saw only very very slight hint of shine around nose area. L'Oreal seems to have the best foundations for my skin. I love the infaillable one too. As a teen I always used Mattique (discontinued) and have always been on the hunt for a perfect replacement. I think I found it with this one and infaillable, and Revlon CS I LOVE too!

Liquid -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Makeup SPF 17

Well lesson one, don't buy foundation when in a hurry. That is what I did in this case (a while back) and bought the wrong color for me. WAY too dark. I just pulled the bottle out and tested it on my skin and the coverage seems medium to me, and the consistancy seems ok for blending. I do have to agree with many others I prefer a pump on the bottles. I have Revlon CS too and hope they convert to pump soon. I have been buying many foundations in the past month and trying so many samples from Sephora. I can tell you hands down so far my favs are: Estee Lauder Double Wear Light #2, Revlon Colorstay Norm/Oily Combo-Nude, L'Oreal Infaillable 18hr-Nude, and L'Oreal Visible Lift Serum Absolute-Nude, and Makeup Forever HD #118, all have beautiful Matte, or Semi-Matte coverage for flawless looking skin. LOVE THEM!

Foundations -Almay - Pure Blends 97.4% natural
rated 1 of 5
cheriebeary73 12/19/2011 4:27:00 PM

I picked this up the other day at Walgreens for $2, thought what the heck I'll give it a try. So today was in a hurry so threw this on my face before going out the door to run errands, and OMG how gross this is. The instant I put it on it was super oily and shiny. I dusted my face with loose powder lightly too and didn't help that much. Every part of my face was shiny, not just the T-Zone. Some people may like that "dewey" look, but I certainly DO NOT. My husband came home this afternoon, and asks "what the hell is wrong with your face today?" lol told him I got a new foundation to try for $2. His response was.. "what the hell you buying $2 foundations for? Trying to ruin your face?" He insisted I better wash off asap, so I took that advice and did just that. I then tried my new L'Oreal Visible Lift Serum Absolute and WOW much much much better! I always have great luck with L'Oreal products, been using since my teen days, and now I'm 38. No more Almay foundations for me!

Liquid -Maybelline - Instant Age Rewind foundation
rated 3 of 5
cheriebeary73 12/19/2011 7:15:00 AM

This review is for the new one with the Gojo Berry and Caffeine. This is also my first try of a Maybelline foundation. I have been faithful to L'oreal my entire life. I just recently started collecting different ones to try and this was one of them I picked up. I tried yesterday for first time. The coverage to me seems light to medium. It looked nice after it was applied, and very natural looking and feeling. After it dried a bit I applied very lightly a loose powder over to set. Through out the day I kept checking on it in mirror and my nose and the sides of it turned into very shiny and oily. I blotted with more powder (this time pressed) and like less then an hour later there was shine again. I felt like my face had a little bit more of a "greasy" feel to it entire day, (like if I rested my hand on my face etc..) It didn't have that soft matte feel, it was more of a sticky kind of greasy feel, although I would look in the mirror and it didn't appear as greasy as it felt? If that makes any sense. So this foundation seems just OK, not horrible, but not great either. This would be one I wear if I am not doing anything special, just sitting home, and taking dog for walk etc.. But I actually may return mine for something different since I'm not really thrilled with it.

Liquid -L'Oreal - infallible never fail makeup
rated 5 of 5
cheriebeary73 12/18/2011 9:50:00 AM

I have been on a foundation kick the last couple weeks here and been trying tons! I tried this one yesterday in the nude color. At first when I pumped it I was very worried. The only thing coming out of this bottle was some sort of weird oily substance and barely any foundation. I was all prepared to return this to the store. But I decided to give it a good shake and try again. Guess that did the trick. Now this nice foundation comes out, not too runny and not too thick in my opinion. I love the pump top, makes it so much easier to control the amount you use. I also applied with a brush and did sections at a time. I had a very nice "airbrushed" look to my face. I don't find it dries fast at all. My Revlon CS and EL Double Wear Light dry little bit faster. I let my foundation set for about 5 min then I lightly dusted my face with the infaillable pressed powder using my big fluffy brush and my face looked fantastic! Like another reviewer stated, it gives your face a "doll face" look. I can totally see what she is saying. It gives my skin almost a semi-matte appearance and a little more natural looking then Revlon. Even though my face looked matte, I still had this slight dewey but not shiney look coming through. I will say by end of night my nose did get little shiney, so I feel with this foundation you need to bring your pressed powder and have on hand for touch ups. I don't get shiney with Revlon CS. I didn't find offensive odor to the foundation either. I was like wow this stuff is nice for DS brand! I had no problems washing the makeup off later that night. The makeup was on my face all day, and didn't seem to fade at all either. I would definatley buy this one again, but if will be awhile before I need to!

I was strolling through my local Rite Aid last night and saw tons of 75% off labels down the makeup isle, and there was a sticker on this stuff, so I got it for $2. I tried it when I got home and I think it's real nice! Soft pretty sparkle and not overwhelming. Just enough to give the apple of your cheeks and bridge of nose slight shimmer. This tub is huge, so I think it will take me VERY long time to go through it!
