Masks -Mario Badescu - Drying Mask

So I received a sample of this from a recent MB purchase and yes it does smell... literally like hell: sulfur and brimstone, but it works wonders in zapping up oil. I did not find much use for it as an overnight treatment or in reducing a breakout until I combined it with the buffering lotion. These two products used together: apply buffering lotion, let dry, apply mask for 20-30 min, wash off, reapply buffering lotion and go to bed, literally reduced a nasty cystic acne breakout by 50% overnight when my normal arsenal wouldn't touch it for the past 2 weeks (Neutrogena on the spot treatment, neutrogena fade n' clear, 30% gylcolic acid peels) all of this reduced swelling or maybe made it disappear for a day but it would come right back.

Treatments -Mario Badescu - Buffering Lotion

So I just bought this product due to a nasty cystic acne outbreak on my chin. I was VERY disappointed with it because it really wasn't doing anything, it would reduce the swelling but it would swell right back up throughout the day. Then I read that it should be used before or after the drying mask. I had a sample of the drying mask so I tried using it both before and after the drying mask, I have done this for one night and my acne has literally nearly disappeared. This is one of those rare incidents where both products I thought were ho hum turned out to be great together. It does cause drying for me though.

Mascara -Shiseido - The Makeup Mascara Base [DISCONTINUED]

I am in love with this product! I am on stage a lot and I can now get away with not wearing fake lashes and just use this base with my normal cheap drug store mascara. When you think of the money I save from eyelash glue and lashes not to mention the havoc it does to my lashes and lids this is actually a very good deal. I have thick medium length lashes but these really adds length and even more volume. I would not use it under a volume building mascara or it gets clumpy, instead do a lengthening one and definitely comb through!

I was not impressed with this product. The great thing is that they offer a 30 day money back so I am returning mine and so far no problems. I didn't really find that it helped shorten my pimple time nor did it make just starting ones not start or disappear. A lot of people are having success so maybe mine is a dud. :-/ As for the pain concern it really isn't that bad but it does take some getting used to. I have a high tolerance and sometimes I had to will myself to do it. Also, you should be careful, if it doesn't heal the pimple in a day or two don't keep zapping it daily or you can burn yourself.

Masks -Makeup Artist's Choice (MUAC) - 30% Glycolic Acid Home Chemical Peel Kit

So far so good with this product! Here is my story: I was experiencing the worst breakout I have ever had on my lower cheeks of deep cystic acne that my normal routine would not touch. What was worse was that the pimples were very swollen and left terrible hyperpigmentation behind so even when the pimples cleared my skin still looked like a disaster. I have been using it for a week and have done 3 peels (one every 3 or 4 days for 10 minutes) and this has reduced the amount of pimples by probably 40%! It has also greatly reduced the new hyperpigmentation, though old marks remain. I also got their 12.5% TCA peel which I am planning on using in the upcoming week to deal with old marks. I have been experiencing some new pimples due to the "deep cleansing" process as described by MUAC but they heal very quickly. I did experience some dryness and flaking the day after the 2nd peel but this is probably because I am using it twice as often as suggested. My most recent peel I had no dryness. *Note* My normal routine includes a 10% glycolic acid lotion and I have deep olive and fairly thick skin so I would not recommend my way of using this peel to those with sensitive, thin skin or people who do not use glycolic acid regularly. Instead follow MUAC's directions.

Maybe this works for some people, but for me it made me break out terribly! I broke out in areas that I never get break outs which is quite depressing and takes weeks to fix :-/ It is messing with your hormones so I guess if the hormones it controls are the ones that make you break out then it works but I definitely fell into "it makes it worse" category. It's cheap and worth a try since some people seem to love it but be prepared in case it doesn't

Great face soap for sensitive skin. On particular hot days or during my period I have to use a toner but I find this to be the perfect face soap. It can be combined with any other products without drying out your skin or causing breakouts

I have a love/ hate relationship with this product. It works well for acne and even cystic acne at times but you have to exercise caution. Don't put a dollop on or you will burn your skin and if you have a tough pimple and it doesn't solve it in a couple days give your skin a break or you will get a thick hard piece of dry skin over the pimple. Don't exfolliate or use harsh toners or washes when using it. I use Purpose face soap when I use it and skip the toner and be sure to moisturize. I also have tricky skin, combination and sensitive so keep this is mind.
