Love this color! It works very well with my skin tone, which is somewhere between NC 37-40. Not drying, leaves a nice stain on the lips, and has no taste or scent.
Liquid -Shu Uemura - Face Architect Sheer Refining Mousse Foundation

I like the idea of a mousse foundation and this one looks nice on my skin. The reason why I don't use it often is because I get oily and it starts fading three hours later on my skin. I like my makeup to stay all day because I hate retouching. To be fair, I feel this formula would be perfect for those with dry to normal skin.
Liquid -BeneFit Cosmetics - "Hello Flawless!" Oxygen Wow

As much as I really like the color match of this one, the performance really sucks. It gets greasy and fades after a few hours. My skin is somewhere between combination and oily depending on the weather so I've tried skipping moisturizer to see if this will hold up longer but it didn't. As I've mentioned, it fades so my face was patchy after four hours. Really didn't like this. The performance is worse than some drugstore foundations. Not worth the price at all.
Eye Primer -Lime Crime - Candy Eyed Eyeshadow Helper

For reference, I have oily lids.I have UDPP (love this!), tried NYX HD base (which sucks), and the Korean brand Etude Proof 10 (which is awesome). I don't like this primer. The packaging sucks because the primer dries out from the pot. Which means you'll have a hard time spreading it on your lids. Overtime you'll contribute to premature wrinkles. Also, chances are before you even use up the pot, the product is already dry. My worst experience was applying this around 7 pm for a party I had to attend. My eye makeup looked great, vibrant, and it really felt promising. By midnight, I had raccoon eyes and major creasing. It's like I didn't use any primer in the first place. To be fair, I think this can work for dry-normal lids.
Mascara -Unlisted Brand - Dolly Wink Volume Mascara

For reference, I have oily lids. I never wear eye makeup without using primers. This is an okay product. Really builds volume (keep it at 2 coats or it'll clump) and holds curl BUT it does not perform well in hot and humid temperatures. DO NOT wear this if you plan to be out of the house all day. You'll get some flakes and little smudging. If you party all night with this, you'll get major smudging. I now only wear this when I won't be out for more than 5 hours. But once I toss this out, I'm not buying again. If you have dry to normal lids, or live in a cold country, this can work for you.
My best friend is a huge Evian fan for so many years now but even then, I never believed it. I always thought it was just water in a can. So what I do is just fill an atomizer with water. Until some months ago, I've read about the French cleansing method (no water) and it required Evian or Avene. So I got Evian and tried out the cleansing method and omg, I have never seen my skin this clear in years, or ever. Of course you can say it's the method, but I've tried using regular water and it doesn't work the same. Regular water is too strong for the skin. Evian made my pores smaller and have way less breakouts (now, only when my period is coming). On really hot days, I skip the moisturizer and layer Evian on my skin. By that I mean I spray, let dry and then spray again. Three to five layers. I also use it to sheer out foundations (spray on brush), and give my face a dewy finish after putting on makeup. I know it's expensive water but I don't really mind, as long as it works on my skin.
THis is the first expensive foundation I own and I love it. My shade is somewhere between NC35-37, 310 in Revlon Colorstay (Combination-Oily skin variant). I got 2.4for this Smashbox foundation. Coverage is medium but is buildable in areas where you need more coverage. When I use this, I skip concealer. Instead I just add another layer over my post-acne marks and undereyes. The texture is quite thick and dries up fast so I recommend spritzing your brush with water to add some slip to the foundation. Best brushes to use would be flat top kabuki brush or a dense dome brush. I normally wear this when I'll be out all day. Around 8-10 hours later, I'd get patches where the foundation starts to fade (my skin is oily) but it's not a big deal since 10 hours of wear is already pretty awesome. If you want a lighter coverage, I recommend mixing this with moisturizer to sheer it out.
Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara Waterproof

This mascara flaked and smudged like motherflaker! Ugh. If you wanna stick to Maybelline for mascaras, get those from their Volum express line.
Lipstick -E.L.F. - Luscious Liquid Lipstick - Cherry Tart

I love this! I top my lip tint with this when I want to look more polished. It's not as sticky as the glosses of Clinique, Estee or Shu Uemura (high end brands I've tried). For that reason and its price, it definitely deserves a five! I hate sticky glosses because it feels like a dirt magnet. After eating and drinking, it does not disappear totally. It still leaves a nice shine on the lips. Yay!
I like this foundation! It feels light, blends easily, covers minor imperfections. At first I noticed I get very oily with this as compared to powder foundation. I read the label and saw that the foundation itself is moisturizing so I skipped my moisturizer directly applied my foundation. It worked! After a few hours I look dewy. I still blot after 4-5 hours to keep me looking fresh. This foundation will stay nicely around 8 hours, depending on the weather, skin type, and your activities for the day.
I have the neutral palette. I like the colors but the first shadow is useless. I've been using this for the past 4 months and love it. Until I tried it side by side my Stila trio baked shadow. Now I understand the difference between expensive and cheap shadows. This has a lot of fallout. The middle-top color wouldn't show over the light color (even with a primer underneath). I think this one is loosely packed coz one of the shadows cracked after a few days. But for the price, this is good. I use it for quick days outside or just to practice shadow application. Will continue using it. I especially like the first color on the lower row. It's a good brow highlight and I also apply it in the inner corner of my eyes.
This is hands down, the best eylash curler! I've had mine for almost 6 years now and it has never failed me. It does not hurt my lids, fit my eye contour perfectly, rubber does not give my lashes a 'check mark' (that awkward curl) when its curled. For the price, its 'sturdiness' and result- definitely worth it!
I love Smashbox but this is a no no on my list! On the first day I used this, my makeup held pretty well but did not stay entirely fresh which I don't mind because it was hot that day. But the morning after, I had a few zits!!! I took a risk and used it the second time and then my left cheek became red, zits got worse and I did notice some pilling of the makeup. UGH. REALLY HATE THIS. The only good thing, I guess, is that I bought the travel size just to try it. Still expensive for a primer though.
Eyeliner -Physicians Formula - Shimmer Strips Gel Creamliner (all)
chatterboxlee 1/26/2011 8:22:00 AM
I have this in brown eyes and I love it! Been using this for two days already. So far it's the only thing that doesn't fade on my lids. Even Stila's smudge pot in bronze fades on me (applied under UDPP)! I initially thought the brown was not as brown as I wish. But I found out I was putting very little on my brush, thus it looked quite sheer. Now I know how much to use. haha This is on my #1 for now. I still want to try other brown liners. I haven't used the black one. I've tried the purple one and I'm saving it for parties because I'm not used to colorful liners. Packaging is cute but it's plastic. Might dry the product- but I hope not.
Conditioner -Avalon Organics Botanicals - lavender conditoner
chatterboxlee 1/25/2011 2:12:00 PM
(Repost with some edits from my lavender shampoo review.) This smelled good but I thought it was too strong. And it leaves my hair dry so I need to condition with the lavender conditioner from the same brand. I finished the bottle of shampoo only because it was too damn expensive to throw away. But the effect on my locks and scalp was just not good. My scalp would itch often and would have thouse tiny sorta pimple-like feel like trapped hair follicles. So much for being organic. I still have half a bottle to go with this conditioner but I don't think I wanna finish it.
