im sorry, this is a total miss for me. first, the smell is horrible. i can tolerate a lot of chemical smells in products, but this one is just..... anyway, exfoliation is so-so, whitening wise it does do a little to help, but i can't wait to get it off my face as the whole thing just smells gross. i regret buying this. so much so that using it to scrub my legs instead of my face. it's just not for me.
i got 3 of these. lumi, goldilux and starling. AMAZING. Amy of Sugarpill gives EXCELLENT customer service and is super helpful. I love how she runs her business, her enthusiasm and passion and of course, all of her products. i wish i could give 6 out of 5 for all her products. value-for-money, gorgeous packaging, quality products. what more can you ask for? :)
Skincare - Face -Olay - Total Effects 7 signs Serum
chari55a 6/16/2011 2:16:00 AM
okay, here's it. the reason why everyone's breaking out from this is because it isn't relaly suitable as a skincare product for anyone with combination to oily skin types. it has such high levels of silicone! HOWEVER, it is a PERFECT FACE PRIMER for those with combination to oily skin types. You cleanse your skin, then use this to prep the face, followed by sunblock and then foundation. You'd love how the skin feels even after putting on heavy coverage foundation! I've used this for runway shows and it's a fantastic product to have. I have broken out just by including this in my skincare routine but once i switched to using a small amount in the morning before foundation application, my skin was back to normal. Ladies with combination and oily skin, there's no need for moisturizers. really. just use an essence or a serum after cleansing the face and then proactiv treatment lotion to prevent breakouts. i've been on accutane before, and this skincare regiment has helped me maintain clear skin even without it :)
i got 2 sample sized of this in Vanilla from bestbuy cosmetics. One sample tube lasted me for about 2-3months with very frequent use. I'm an NC20 an am using vanilla (which is a few shades darker) as i wanted a golden tanned look for the summer. just use a small amount, rub it in your palms and then pat it gently on the face. this foundation doesn't work too well with brushes as it will streak a little. it works pretty well with a sponge though. i've used it on many of my models and they love how it feels on their skin. I've worn this foundation to a bbq and it didn't melt off my face. fabulous! the trick to making this foundation stay is use a powder puff to set the foundation. this foundation doesn't settle in fine lines and looks decent for a good 4 hours in hothothothot humid singapore where temperatures are constantly at 32dg. i'll purchase this in a lighter shade soon. i'm loving this, am totally bringing it overseas with me. a smart foundation with a reasonable price tag.
i love this MAC lipstick! i used to only wear estee lauder's crystal baby but since i ran out of it and the store no longer carry it, i thought i might just try Blankety out. im glad i did. i've got really dry lips but i put a lipbalm as a base always so i don't have problems with Blanekty being chalky. im a NC20 and this fits pretty well. a real yet pretty nude colour for me. have repurchased and will buy it again :)
Primer/ Corrector -Revlon - Beyond Natural Smoothing Primer
chari55a 1/10/2011 6:51:00 AM
i honestly think im breaking out from this product too.... as a makeup artist, i understand that there could be a ton of products that cause breakouts and it just might not be this one. however, i've to agree that this primer goes on oily...it's be a great primer for dry and matured skin types but for oily/combo, save your money....it's really not going to work.... i've tired this below revlon foundations and other foundations (like EP, which i also don't like) and it simply makes my skin look dewy in the first hour and oily by the 3rd hour. i'd use this on my ankles, toes and heels to smoothen skin to prevent blisters from heels...i find it works best this way...
Foundations -Eve Pearl - High Definition Dual Foundation with CosmeNutrients
chari55a 1/10/2011 6:13:00 AM
i really wanted to like this product. after trying it for a month, i can truly say it's breaking my skin out. i've acne-prone skin and with the humid weather in singapore, this foundation slides and cakes up. im using the EP dual foundation, loose powder and photo compact powder. got them shipped over from US at bought them during black friday sale. i've tried these foundations on ladies above 40 and the result is amazing! teenagers and young adults are not suited for this product. beware. btw, im planning on selling a BRAND NEW EP dual foundation in MEDIUM. im based in singapore. anyone interested? i'll probably sell at SGD$35 or so.... so it's a gd deal for matured ladies who'd like to try...email me at firstname.lastname@example.org :)
Scrubs -Origins - Never A Dull Moment Skin Brightening Facial Polisher
chari55a 7/23/2010 2:45:00 AM
i just bought this for SGD$40. i thought the whole jar was a little small but a little of it goes a long way, so i'd suppose that a jar would at least take me 5months to finish it up. as suggested by other MUA members, i used the srub and then left it on for about 3 mins then a wash off. my skin's really soft after that! even my fingers that did the scrubbing felt so much softer and smoother! i've got rather sallow and dull asian skin, but using this has even made my foundation a little too light for me since my skin's been glowing! give it a try if you're willing to invest in a gd product :)
Lipstick -Estee Lauder - Pure Color Crystal Lipstick- Crystal Baby
chari55a 5/14/2010 2:51:00 AM
i got this at $7 on an online website. it's the best lippie i've got so far, putting aside the fact that its staying power is pretty low for a creamy lipstick. with any gloss put on top of a coat of this, it makes the lips look really natural and full! received many compliments at formal events about this lip colour. works very well on asian skin tones! :)
Lip Gloss -Wet 'n' Wild - Silkygirl - Moisture Gloss
chari55a 5/14/2010 2:45:00 AM
i have this in vintage rose too. the shade is gorgeous and it's shiny metallic. scent is barely there and it's comfortable on the lips. not very moisturising though, and does not make lips seem fuller. overall the colour payoff is awesome for this price and i do seem to use this on a weekly basis despite having a truckload of other lippies :)
used this for many of my makeup artist assignments as it's very easily blended. however, the shades available are very limited. not suited for those who have dry under eyes like i do personally. great for normal skin users and coverage is very decent for that kind of price. i've got very bad under eye circles and clinque's all about eyes concealer works much better than this due to thicker consistency. however, this has more yellow undertones, so it'd be really ideal for those who have little - medium dark undereye circles/ puffy eyes. overall, it's priced very reasonably and it's perfect for makeup beginners :)
Loose Powders -Unlisted Brand - Palgantong Theatrical Powder
chari55a 5/14/2010 2:37:00 AM
this is the best setting powder i've bought in my life! yes it's that good as it stays on my skin for over 16 hours! i do apply primer, concealer then straight after it's this powder. it does crease a little with the weather being so hot and humid but all is manageable with a lil blotting :) i've very sallow yellow skin with red undertones and this works perfectly for me. as a freelance makeup artist, i realised that original beige works for many of my clients :) great for daily use and it's easy to remove = less burden on the skin :) packaging isn't impressive and the sponge sucks, so do apply with a brush. khabuki preferably :) hope this helps :)
Eyeliner -Unlisted Brand - Silky Girl Funky Eyelights Pencil 08 Frosty Silver
chari55a 5/14/2010 2:33:00 AM
i bought this in hope that it could highlight the tearduct area but it couldnt as it wasn't opaque enough, however, if used as an eyeliner base for shimmery liners, it does work pretty well :) staying power is only at it's max potential when used with primers, smudges like crazy if w/o it!
