I am really surprised at how bad the reviews on this product are, because on my skin, this foundation looks amazingly natural, evens my skintone perfectly, and makes me look radiant and dewy. I don't think the sparkles are overpowering in any light, and my skin is majorly, majorly sensitive and I don't have any breakouts from it at all (so far). I am also a complete foundation junkie, and am willing to fork out over $100 for a good foundation, and this one is a fraction of that. For reference, I have purchased pretty much every foundation formula made by Laura Mercier, NARS, MUFE, Chantecaille, Sisley, Kanebo, Cle de Peau, Graftobian, Cinema Secrets, and several others. I am only now experimenting with MAC foundations, and so far, both my HG foundations are from MAC: Studio Sculpt and Face & Body. I need to wear this for longer to see if it will attain that status for me, but so far I think it's beautiful. To help you in your foundation search, I'll explain my skin type and what I'm looking for in a foundation: I like to look like I have perfect skin naturally and am not wearing any makeup at all. I like a dewy, radiant finish; something that will last a long time without oxidizing or needing a touch-up; and I like to not feel like I have any goup on my face. My skin is pretty good naturally, so I tend to only need a light or light-medium coverage to just even me out, but I don't like tinted moisturizers (I feel like they do nothing for me at all and totally disappear within an hour or so). Hope this is helpful!

Lipstick -Clinique - Butter Shine Lipstick - Ambrosia

Just like my lips, but a tad brighter. This is my HG lipstick when I've got a slight tan going on and want to feel like a glowy, all-natural so-Cal girl, let my blonde hair down and just dust a little shimmery bronzer on my cheeks, and head on the door. Guys always flirt with me when I'm wearing it, and the other day my sister told me I looked extra pretty. Anybody with a sister knows they don't just give you a compliment to boost your self-esteem, so I'll take her at her word lol. My favorite is mixed with MAC Creme de Nude or Angel lipstick and topped with a touch of clear gloss. Come to think of it, I don't know why I don't just wear this everyday.

Pressed Powders -Make Up For Ever - Compact Shine On

Lately I have been obsessed with MAC MSFs in Natural (I wear Light-Medium) for giving me a dewy, perfect-skin kind of finish. I love it so much that it was actually hard for me to put this on and chance not looking as good as I do with my trusty MSF. However, I braced myself and gave it a try. I was instantly massively impressed--like the MSF, no sparkles, no shimmer, no discoball effect, just glowy-looking, perfect skin. Then, urgently needing to go to the bank to deposit a check, I hopped in my car, only to find that the battery was dead, so, to my chagrin, I had to hoof it two miles each way in the blazing L.A. heat. I was a complete sweatball by the time I made it home, but, as for my makeup, I don't think it's ever looked better. My skin was glowing and radiant, no oxidation, no smearing. Somehow I'd managed to look perfect throughout the ordeal. Did I mention that the color is also not orange at all? It looks like it's about NW20 or so. I am definitely working this into my repertoire!

Liquid -MAC - Pro Longwear Foundation

I wish I could rate this 4.5 lippies, taking of a half lippie for feeling heavy on my face, which is a pet peeve. I like to not feel (and look) like I don't have anything on. However, there will definitely be a time and place for this foundation in my makeup routine. This is the best long-wearing, completely maintenance-free foundation I've ever worn. I tried and bought it at the duty-free at the duty-free at Heathrow airport and, 36 hours later (after a completely mental number of cancelled flights, extra stopovers, and delays) when I finally made it back to L.A., my makeup was still completely perfect. And I'm talking no primer, no setting powder, and no touch-ups whatsoever that whole time. I was even wearing eyeliner, and it was still perfectly intact under my eyes, no smudging at all (btw which is definitely the achievement of the foundation and not the eyeliner). I've never, ever worn a foundation like that, that can keep everything in place no matter what agonies your day has in store fo ryou. I swear, that stuff is a marvel of the modern world! It also in a way kept looking better and better throughout the day. After I got home to my husband (by then it was about 37 hours), I was looking fresh and radiant in spite of being the grimiest, most worn and time-weathered traveler ever. My verdict is that MAC Pro Longwear truly lives up to its name, and is an important weapon to have in the arsenal for a super long day, when you know you won't have time for many touch-ups and need something no-maintenance. Since I don't work and usually have plenty of time for touch-ups throughout the day, long days without being able to "spruce myself up" are few and far between. If I were a career gal, however, it's quite possible this would be HG for me. For the record, my current favorite foundation is MAC F&B in N1, set with MSF in Medium Light.

Hair -Ardell - Red Gold Color Corrector
rated 1 of 5

I don't write many reviews but I really feel a need to warn any of my platinum blonde sistahs out there to stay away from this stuff like it's the plague! As a previous reviewer said, Ardell Red/Gold Corrector used to be the bomb....it would take your yellowish, brassy hair and transform it into the most beautiful shade of flaxen white blonde like it was magic. However, they have DEFINITELY changed their formula, and consider yourself warned that your hair will now turn a hideous shade of pinkish orange that will take you at least five shampoos (possibly more) to rid yourself of. They need to drop the "Corrector" from the name and just rename it "Red/Gold Drops" because that's basically what it is now. I know it's not just an off-batch because I have been purchasing this and re-purchasing this for about six months because I had such extreme cognitive dissonance as to the new formula now sucking so much :-( I just didn't want to believe it.....but, alas, every time I re-tried it I kicked myself for being such a crazy idiot who was so quick to forgive and forget...... and dutifully hopped back on the shampoo train for another afternoon of trying get the damn stuff out! I have officially banned myself.....no more tries and never again. If anybody has found a good substitute.....either drops or a conditioner. I'm on a no-poo so I can't use a purple shampoo (but if you're not, I super highly recommend Swcharzkopf Silver Lights shampoo for a beautiful, flawless white blonde every time). What a bummer!

Liquid -MAC - Face and Body Foundation
rated 5 of 5

I own at least 30 high-end foundations and have sampled probably 50 more. This is my favorite. I rate foundations in terms of: *Coverage (concealing any and all flaws in my skin) *Un-detectability (I don't want anyone to be able to tell I'm wearing makeup) *Endurance (I am not a foundation "toucher-upper", and when I look in the mirror six hours later, I don't want any crusty, cakey, filmy, streaky or greaseball surprises, and I don't want to find that I've spent the afternoon looking like an oompah loompah either) *Short Term Skin health (As in, at the end of the day when I take it off--or, more likely, the next morning--does my skin feel dry, greasy, irritated, or healthy and normal? *Long-term skin health (Since using this foundation, have I developed any new skin problems, as in dryness, pimples, redness, ect., has my skin overall gotten healthier, or is it looking the same or worse, etc) * Ingredient Purity I have been using the MAC F&B for about a year and have not had any breakouts from it.....I don't wear foundation all the time, but when I do, I tend to sleep in it (I am super lazy), so that is really quite a feat. Also, I feel like it leaves my skin hydrated and healthy-feeling. I have not developed any long-term problems from it either. Also, it looks beautiful from the time I put it on until the time I take it off. You'd never in a million years know I was wearing makeup. (For the record, I don't use powder with it, and I recommend any of you who use powder start limiting it to super small amounts.....I really think it makes people look older, looks unnatural and cakey, and is terrible for the skin, much worse than foundation). So anyway, no touch-ups, check. One other thing, I use this foundation without a primer all the time, and it still lasts all day and looks great. In fact, this foundation passes each prong of my "foundation test" with flying colors, except for ingredient purity. Basically, it has every single thing that you DON'T want to put on your face. Have I experienced any side effects? No. Does it still concern me? Yes. Have I found any decent foundations with "purer" ingredients? Hell no. Every single one I have tried looks HORRIBLE. (Jane Iredale was decent, but not in the same league as this foundation). That said, every new foundation I try is judged against this one. For the record, the other foundations I like are MUFE Face & Body and Amazing Cosmetics Concealer. Reviews to come.

Toners -Silk Naturals - Pore Refining Toner

Eh. Didn't really do anything momentous for me. Also has some sort of weird chemical in the ingredients....kind of annoying when it's marketed as being some all-natural, skin healthy product.

After reading everyone's reviews, I gave this a try and it's absolutely incredible. It turned my YELLOW blonde hair baby platinum white without drying it out at all. My hair is super shiny and soft. This is the holy grail of purple shampoos.
