Lipstick -Rimmel - Lasting Finish - Crush
channingto 5/15/2013 1:57:00 AM
I like this lipstick as far as the color goes. It goes well with my NC30 somewhat tan skin warm yellow undertones. It's very peachy leaning orange. I can't stand the smell and the frost finish. As far as dupes, I was SO surprised to hear that people call this a dupe for MAC freckletone. Freckletone is one of my FAVORITE MAC lipsticks and I've had it forever, rebought several times. This is NOT similar to Freckletone. Freckletone is far far more brown. It is a peachy/brown NUDE. I wouldn't call Crush a nude. It is a peachy orange. If I were to compare it to anything, it would be to MAC Shy Girl which is somewhat similar in the peachy department but leans more pink than orange. I have them swatched on my lips right now (half and half) and Crush is definitely more similar to Shy Girl. But if you are a little bit tan, I suggest picking up Freckletone too since it's a great nude in itself! ;) All in all, Crush is just an OK lipstick. It's a gorgeous color but the finish + smell lower my rating. I'd love to find an exact dupe that's a cream finish. (Shy Girl is a Cremesheen and doesn't glide as smoothly as say lustres from MAC)

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - BOMBSHELL

I own the body mist and the perfume and I use the body mist daily. I don't use the perfume as much just because I like a lighter scent and it last for several hours on me still. It is such a pretty scent, I can't get enough of it! On two different occasions, after hugging a friend, they asked me what fragrance I was wearing! And one said she'd have to pick it up right away! So glad this is the signature scent, so I don't have to worry about it being discontinued. I love this.

Gorgeous dark red lipstick. I find darker reds easier to pull off than brighter reds and I find that brighter reds often make your lips look more yellow. This is a dark red color that I think is very flattering. I'm an NC30 with yellow undertones but even though this has a slight blue undertone, I think that's what makes it so flattering despite my warm skin color - maybe that's just my personal preference. This is lighter than MAC's Media and Media has a purple undertone where this is just a nice deep red.

Lipstick -MAC - Brick-O-La
channingto 5/14/2013 9:56:00 PM
What a gorgeous shade! Not so much brick as others have mentioned, but it pulls more red than berry on me. It's like a medium red with a hint of berry. I never feel comfortable wearing dark lipsticks and this isn't SO dark but it is still out of my comfort zone. But with that, I love this lipstick! I'm not scared to wear it and I love the amplified finish. Goes on smoothly and opaque. So glad I picked this up! I think this is a good transition shade for girls like me that are weary of wearing red/darker lip colors. NC30 yellow undertones, pigmented mauve lips

Really wanted to love this. Found it too gummy and sticky for my undereyes (or anywhere else). Color match was fine, but this didn't go on smoothly under my eyes and definitely looked more than cakey with a setting powder. Even without the setting powder it just looked thick no matter how little I put on and this creased without a setting powder so nothing worked for me with this product. Gave it so many tries and wanted to love it.

Concealers -Maybelline - Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles

I did not like this at all. I typically like very liquidy/creamy concealers because I have some fine lines under my eyes. This concealer is very very dry and just did not apply smoothly under my eyes. Also did not cover my dark circles. Found it to apply very streaky and dry. I like MAC's moisturecover concealer and the Garnier eye roller concealer.

Lips -Maybelline - Baby Lips in Pink Wink
channingto 3/19/2013 5:01:00 PM
I couldn't decide whether to get this one or the Twinkle color. I definitely prefer that one over this in terms of smell and color payoff. This one is clear on my pigmented lips and the smell is pleasant but not as delicious as the other. This one is somewhat fruity with a hint of bubble gum while Twinkle smells of pink starbursts (yum!) Twinkle shows up as a sheer light pink on my lips and this doesn't at all. Both are not particularly hydrating for my lips, but my lips are especially resistant to being hydrated, so I don't blame it for that and I don't know how this fairs for people with normal lips. It isn't drying, just not a healing balm for me. Like I mentioned, the smell isn't bad, so I can still use this up as a clear balm, but if I were to go out looking for a clear balm to buy, I wouldn't choose this one.

Lip Treatments -Maybelline - Baby Lips Twinkle
channingto 3/19/2013 4:57:00 PM
Love the smell. Definitely like the pink starburst :) I had a hard time deciding between this and Pink Wink. Would choose this over that one because that one is completely clear on my lips and doesn't smell as nice. Still nice, fruity, and a hint of bubble gum but I love this one better and this one lightens my lip color a bit with a light pink, which I prefer. This isn't a five star rating because I don't find baby lips extremely moisturizing on my always chapped lips, but they don't dry them out more than they already are. Pretty much typical of all lip products I attempt to use on my sad lips.

Blush -NARS - Luster

A gorgeous bronzey peach color on my skin. I am NC32 warm toned. This has a nice sheen on my cheeks and shows up subtle but gorgeous. Love the texture and payoff of this blush. One of my favorite blushes! My other favorite is NARS Gina - beautiful peach color.

Conditioner -TRESemme - Smooth and Silky Vitamin H and Silk Proteins
channingto 2/26/2013 7:50:00 PM
This is my HG conditioner. This is THE first conditioner I have ever used since I can remember. My mom bought this for me as a kid and since then, I've tried other conditioners but have always gone back to this. I am asian with stick straight, fine (but a lot of it) hair. I leave this in my hair for 5-10 minutes and it takes out all the tangles in my hair (I brush through with my tangle teaser or my fingers after the 5-10 minutes), and this makes it so easy. I used to use the shampoo as well but found it made my hair get greasy faster than normal (and I have very oily hair). With this, I only use it on the bottom half of my hair, starting from about my ears, and that's fine. I don't like to condition my roots because it just weighs down my hair, no matter what conditioner it is. Overall, I like this because it's cheap, smells good, and works great. I tried the Macadamia deep repair mask, and I prefer this to that because of the price, and it gives the same effect, except that the Macadamia mask is thicker, which makes me need to use more because it is harder to spread through my hair. I will always repurchase this over and over.

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Matte Eyeshadow in Vintage Lace
channingto 2/25/2013 7:20:00 PM
For what I use this for, it's great! I only use this as a brow bone highlight and on the inner lid. (I like a matte inner lid highlight and a satin/shimmery corner highlight & not shimmery for both) For those uses, this is great! I don't find it chalky, but I'm not applying all over the lid, so I don't know how that'd look, but I suspect chalky because I have medium skin (NC32) yellow undertones, so really light/white shadows don't usually look good all over my lid. I use this like I do my MAC Blanc Type, and it's so similar to me. Great shadow.

Eyes -Milani - Shadow Eyez - 03 Champagne Toast

As everyone else has said, this pencil is an exact dupe for Urban Decay's Sin and is similar to NYX's jumbo eyeshadow pencil in Yogurt. They are a pinky champagne color but isn't as pink on my eye. (I am NC32 very warm yellow toned, asian). Looks great in the inner corners and in the waterline! The staying power is fantastic. I'm in love with this pencil! HG highlight

Brows -E.L.F. - Eyebrow Kit
channingto 11/14/2012 7:57:00 PM
I am an asian with dark dark brown/black hair. I used the wax, not the powder - the powder was too red toned for me.. At first.. for a very very long time, I LOVED this. The color was great (a litttttle red, but still doable), but I started to notice my eyebrows were shiny! It was like the wax didn't set and it made them seem oily which is just.. weird. The wax never officially sets and since I have oily skin, it causes it to be shiny or slide off sometimes - easily smudged. Now I use MAC's paint pot in quite natural (and MAC's fluidline in dipdown on days with heavy eye makeup), and it works great. It actually sets to a matte/natural finish unlike this.. Sad.. I used this so much I even hit pan (which is rare).. maybe will try it during drier months but I'm so in love with the MAC paint pot that I don't know that I will just beacuse I remember those shiny eyebrows.. *shudder* Good for on a budget I guess.. I'd set it with a shadow to keep it matte though if I were ever to use this again. 02/25/13 Update Now I switch between this and MAC's paint pot in quite natural and it doesn't seem to get shiny now for some reason. It rubs off easier than the paint pot, but doesn't smudge badly. Maybe this won't be so great in the summertime though, but for now it is okay. It is less brown than the paint pot, which suits me better. (still use only the wax and not the powder)

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow in Audacious Asphalt
channingto 11/2/2012 12:13:00 AM
I'm absolutely in love with this color.. I love this type of color.. a dark gunmetal/blue.. it goes absolutely LOVELY with Urban Decay's gunmetal. If you don't like that color, you won't like this one. These do crease on my lids with primer but I haven't found ANYTHING that doesn't even with UDPP, TFSI, setting with eyeshadow, etc. My lids are just that oily :( and I have mini folds on my eye besides my normal asian double eyelid, so that's waht makes it crease so easily. But other than that (I don't hold that against this product because it happens with all other products but this holds up well), this color is absolutely gorgeous and the pigmentation is amazing! So smooth and easy to blend.
