Lip Treatments -Jack Black - Intense Therapy Lip Balm spf 25

I was waiting for the C.O. Bigelow Lemon lip balm solid to go on sale when the semi-annual sale started, but I saw a Jack Black display at Ulta and had heard really good things about the lip balm, so I decided to give it a try. I got the lemon and chamomile because mint tends to make my already always-chapped lips worse. I LOVE IT. It doesn't really smell lemon-y to me though, more like Bazooka bubble gum, but that doesn't really bother me at all. I've noticed a BIG difference in my lips though. It seemed like when I used the C.O. Bigelow, it would work for about an hour, and it melted off and left my lips drier. This makes my lips feel soft and smooth and the feeling lasts. Also, a little goes a long way. I will definitely repurchase this over and over! My new HG lip balm!

Polishes -China Glaze - Rainbow
rated 5 of 5

I am a total China Glaze (and NP in general) addict. I'd seen this used in some tutorials on YouTube and decided to get it since Sally's is having a buy 2 get 1 special. Like a few other reviewers, I'm not a big fan of lighter, safe colors, however, I am in LOVE. I have an older Hard Candy palette called Disco, and there is a color in there that is this NP shade in eyeshadow form, it's one of my most worn shadows, so to have a NP shade to match... definitely on my must have, go-to list from now on.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Nail Magic
rated 5 of 5
chanceofrain 12/4/2011 8:59:00 PM

I bought this at Sally's about a month and a half ago. I was growing out my nails after about a decade of acrylics and two years of trying to grow them out. A diet change after an illness made my nails grow like wildfire but they were still weak, thin and peeling. I tried many hardeners with no luck. The girls at Sally's told me about it after I'd tried an Essie hardener that worked for maybe a week and then failed. I finally gave in and bought it two weeks later because I was helping to move a friend and broke half my nails. I ended up having to cut them all way short and figured it would be a great time to test the Nail Magic out and start growing my nails again while using the product. The girls at Sally's told me that a lot of nurses and restaurant workers purchase it from our store because they're constantly putting hands in water. That's also me, even though I work in auto parts. 6 weeks later and I am a believer. My bottle has lasted me this long even though I'm constantly changing my nail polish. I use 1-2 coats as a basecoat (depending on how much of a hurry I'm in) and then on the rare occasions I leave my nails bare, I'll just apply two coats. I've noticed a BIG difference in my nails. I've only had one instance of breakage and even then, it wasn't horrible. I file my nails square and the corner broke off, it's not even really noticeable. My nails though are AMAZING. Even and strong. I get so many compliments on them, people asking me where I get them done at. A lot of reviews are talking about pain. I have only had one small instance with that with this product and it was probably my own fault, so I didn't take any lippies away. I had a cut near my cuticle on my pinky and I noticed that after doing a manicure that night, for the next couple days, my pinky felt like it had been slammed in a drawer, but ONLY if I pressed my finger on something. It went away on it's own, without me having to remove the Nail Magic, so I'm thinking that if you have rough cuticles or weak nails, that's the cause of all the pain that the below commenters are experiencing. For all the amazing results I've had with this product, I really put it to the test yesterday. I changed the brakes and rotors on my car, and I was definitely slamming my hands and nails into things, a few times hard enough that I checked my nails... came home to shower and took inventory of my nails expecting a bunch of cracked and broken nails... NOT ONE. IMO, it's worth checking out. I did despite all the bad reviews on here and I'm glad that I did. It's my HG hardener now!!

Polishes -China Glaze - Vertical Rush
rated 5 of 5
chanceofrain 11/12/2011 12:04:00 PM

I bought this on clearance at Sally's about a month ago along with CG In Awe of Amber for only $2 each. I LOVE THIS COLOR. At first, when I applied it, it looked just like a basic raspberry, so I put a silver crackle over it. I got outside, and I was WOWED by the depth of this shade, especially with the crackle over it. It really looked 3-D. It's just the right amount of shimmer without looking TOO 80s-esque like some "basic" colors like this do, and I've tried several different top coats over it, they all do this color justice. The application is also amazing. I could get away with one coat but do two because it only improves the amazing depth of this beautiful color. My only complaint is that I got the last bottle at my Sally's and it's obviously being discontinued since it's on clearance. :( I wish I had discovered it sooner and I hope I can find it again, because I can definitely see myself going through this bottle and wanting another!

Tinted Moisturizer -BeneFit Cosmetics - You Rebel
rated 5 of 5
chanceofrain 11/8/2011 11:01:00 PM

I started using this about six years ago when it VERY first came out and you could only get one color. I am fair-medium, but I tan VERY easily, and during the summer, this is amazing. I was mixing it with a regular moisturizer for a bit until they FINALLY came out with the light. I own foundations and other tinted moisturizers, but I'm not sure why because this is all I wear. It's perfect for someone who likes light-medium coverage. During the winter I use the light with just a tiny bit of the original in it to make me look like I'm actually alive... lol It's a little on the expensive side, especially for someone like me who needs both colors, but it's worth it because it lasts forever. I've had my current tubes for almost a year now and that's with every day wear. There is a smell to them, but it's not unpleasant, it kinda smells like suntan lotion.

Scrubs -BeneFit Cosmetics - Honey Snap Out of It Face Scrub
rated 5 of 5
chanceofrain 11/8/2011 10:52:00 PM

I've been using this for the better part of six years. I got it as a sample when I bought my You Rebel and was hooked! I have sensitive skin, so I actually use it as a mask only, and WOW! It smells so good, it's addictive. It lasts a long time and I really hope that Benefit doesn't disco this anytime soon because they've disco'd every other product of theirs that I love except for Bad Gal, You Rebel and this.

Cleansers -BeneFit Cosmetics - You clean up nice!
rated 2 of 5
chanceofrain 11/8/2011 10:49:00 PM

I started using this about 3 years ago on the rec of the girl working at the Benefit counter. She told me that it was great for sensitive skin. My first thoughts on using it was that it smells an awful lot like dish soap, but it's not a bad odor, just different. It did a great job of cleaning my super sensitive skin... until about a year ago. I noticed with every use, my skin was literally painful to the touch after using it, plus red, and it seemed like it was not really cleaning my face as well as it used to. I'm not sure if they changed the formula because they were coming out with the new line, but it was disappointing because I'm a huge Benefit fan, just not of a lot of their newer stuff. I moved onto Philosophy and haven't looked back since. I gave it two lippies because it did work for me for 2 years, just not sure what happened.

Cleansers -BeneFit Cosmetics - B. Right Foamingly Clean Facial Wash
rated 1 of 5
chanceofrain 11/8/2011 10:43:00 PM

I don't have anything nice to say. I was a huge fan of Benefit about 6 years ago, and I miss all the wonderful products they used to have. A lot of their newer stuff just doesn't do it for me, and this was one. I bought this trying to give them another chance over my Philosophy... I used it once and my face got so raw and red after using it, it was horrible! Plus the smell was a HORRIBLE turn-off... I kept smelling it as the day went on and it was getting worse with every whiff. I couldn't wait to get back home and wash my face with my purity! AWFUL for those who have sensitive skin.

Lips -C.O. Bigelow - Lemon Lip Balm
rated 5 of 5
chanceofrain 11/8/2011 10:34:00 PM

This is my HG lip balm product. It was rec'd to me two years ago because I was using the Mentha lip shine but it was burning my lips because they get so dry and cracked, and then I end up getting cold sores. My lips were a hot mess when I went in there looking for something new, and the SA told me to try it out. WOW. I have tried homemade lip balms, EOS, everything and I always come back to this. I love the way it makes my lips feel, even when they're sore. I have a special tube I use just for when I get cold sores to keep it moisturized so it doesn't crack worse that I apply with a cotton swab to keep it uncontaminated for the future. My only complaint is that it's kind of expensive and really, unless it's Christmas (yay Twisted Peppermint!) or the semi-annual sale (because I tend to like disco'd C,O. products like the Cucumber tonic or the Extra Light face lotion, and I stock up on Wallflowers then) BABW coupons don't really apply to me throughout the year, and I go through a tube a month and in winter about a tube biweekly. I wish it was about half the price it is, but totally worth it for how well it works on my lips.

Polishes -Wet 'n' Wild - FastDry - Buffy the Violet Slayer
rated 5 of 5
chanceofrain 11/8/2011 10:18:00 PM

I already own several colors out of this collection: How I Met Your Magenta, Party of Five Glitters, Ebony Hates Chris and Gray's Anatomy. I have never had a problem with WNW polishes, and this one is no different. I was at Walmart browsing for polishes and then I happened to see this one. When I bought the others at KMart, the shelf was pretty empty, or I would have def picked it up sooner! It's such a pretty color, a very unique purple. I like the blue tone to it as well, I layered it with a coat of Sinful Colors "Hottie", which is a blue glitter. I think the entire line is really pretty, and I'll probably get more. The names are a little silly, but I wouldn't call them stupid, a lot of products have fun names like these nowadays!

Fragrances -Philosophy - Pure Grace
rated 5 of 5
chanceofrain 10/30/2011 12:46:00 AM

I love this scent. I originally tried it at Sephora on a tester, and then went back and got the purse spray. For Christmas, my parents got me the set with the body wash and the bigger bottle of the perfume. I get SO many compliments on it, and I find that no matter what other body wash or shampoo I use, this only compliments it instead of competing with it. I love the simple of it, my favorite scent from BABW back in the day was Purely Fresh, and this definitely reminds me of that scent, but even more clean and crisp. My big spray has lasted me almost a year, and I just finished up with my body wash. I will definitely repurchase both as the set once I'm done with the perfume. This is my favorite out of all the grace line... Amazing Grace is too sweet and perfume-y for me, and Inner and Baby just aren't me.

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)
rated 5 of 5
chanceofrain 10/30/2011 12:25:00 AM

OH MY GOSH. I wish I could give this product a rating of a million. I have super sensitive skin and from the time I was 12, my poor face was subjected to harsh high and low end cleansers and regimens. I thought I'd found a winner in Benefit's You Clean Up Nice, because it's oil and soap free, but after about 6 months, I noticed I was getting the same raw, red, burning, horribly dry feeling on my face after using it. Anytime Philosophy is on QVC, I watch, and I have been a fan of their body washes and Pure Grace for quite some time. Every time I'd watch it, they'd do a segment on Purity... and I was always amazed at how gentle it seemed... so I went to Sephora and got a sample of it, then the smaller travel size, and then with my birthday money, treated myself to a full size because I loved it so much. I've been using it for almost a year now and I will NEVER use another cleanser. It takes everything off, even my stubborn Mally mascara. I actually just got in from a Halloween event where I had very thick eye makeup and fake blood all over my face, and it melted it away like butter without any effort, and I love that it's so gentle enough that I was even able to open my eyes while in mid-scrub to make sure I was getting it all washed off! I can't say enough good things about it. To me, it's not too pricey because it's about on par with what I was spending on my Benefit face wash, and a LOT cheaper than Clinique's 3-step. I have the smaller, $20 bottle and it's lasted me about 4 months with twice-daily use. I just love, love, love it.

Masks -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Masque
rated 5 of 5
chanceofrain 10/30/2011 12:13:00 AM

I bought this a few weeks ago, amongst a bunch of recommendations. I've used it once a week for the past 3 weeks, I have sensitive skin and afterwards, my skin feels AMAZING. The price is also awesome, the last minty clay mask I purchased was the kaolin clay mask that C.O. Bigelow used to stock at BABW, this was almost 4x less and just as good, if not better.

Polishes -China Glaze - For Audrey
rated 5 of 5
chanceofrain 10/24/2011 6:44:00 PM

LOVE this. You could say that this was the polish that started my nail polish addiction! I had just gotten my acrylic nails taken off and was starting to grow my natural nails out, and was looking online for tutorials and suggestions, and saw For Audrey several times. HAD to have it! It looks amazing both in the winter (when I am very, very fair) and the summer (when I have a little more color to me) and I get so many comments on it when I wear it. I occasionally will wear it under a black french tip for something different. Definitely one of my favorites and I will repurchase again once I'm out.

Polishes -China Glaze - China Rouge
rated 4 of 5
chanceofrain 10/24/2011 6:37:00 PM

It's a very traditional red. I love the application of it, it's the standard CG application. My only reason for giving a 4 is that it doesn't seem to last as long as the rest of the CG polishes I own, at least on my fingernails. I've tried several different top coats: Diamond Dry, Seche Vite, Essie No Chips Ahead and with every one, I only get a day or two before I start seeing chips and wear. I've had better luck with Sinful Colors Ruby Ruby, which IMO is a little darker, but at least it lasts.
