Highlighters -Bobbi Brown - Shimmerbrick in Gold
rated 2 of 5

I guess I'll be the first to write a negative review, but I really didn't care for this Brick at all. When I first applied it to my cheeks, I could barely see the shimmer at all. When I applied more, it started to turn ashy on me. I'm pretty pale with cool undertones, so I guess that's the reason it didn't work. I would really suggest trying it on first if you're pale and cool toned before buying this sight unseen.

Gels/Soaps -Philosophy - Cinnamon Buns 3-in-1
rated 5 of 5

This smells wonderful, I can't believe how realistic they got the smell with this one! I currently only use it as a body wash because I once tried another 3-in-1 as a shampoo and it was a bit drying for my hair. This works perfectly well as a moisturizing body wash and I appreciate the fact that the smell doesn't last past the shower since I'm not sure I'd want to smell this ALL day. A definite repurchase and I'm tempted to try the recipe on the front too :)

Conditioner -Philosophy - Shear Splendor
rated 5 of 5

I think this conditioner is absolutely amazing! I have somewhat thick, course, color treated hair and this smoothes it out making it mangeable and oh so silky feeling. It works great without adding any heaviness or buildup to my hair too. Smells wonderfull too! A definite repurchase for me.

Blush -Estee Lauder - Blushlights Berrylight
rated 5 of 5
cerisier 4/24/2006 9:21:00 AM

Well this shade and product were my first introduction into the world of cream blushes. I never thought I could pull off a cream blush since my skin can have a tendancy to become oily after a few hours. I absolutely adore this shade and formula! It gives me such a healthy glow and is more long lasting on me than most powder blushes (that in itself amazed me the most). It's a matte blush minus the shimmer. I can see myself wearing this shade year round. I apply this blush with the MAC 187 brush and I get beautiful results!

Lotions/ Creams -Aveda - Hand Relief
rated 4 of 5
cerisier 4/24/2006 9:12:00 AM

This is a really great product, but I only use it in the winter since it's a pretty heavy moisturizer for me. Not too greasy, but you really only need a small amount. The smell is quite strong, as are all Aveda products so that might bother some. Definitely try the small sample size before you commit to buy the larger one like the previous reviewer said!

Skincare - Body -Barielle - Hand Cream SPF15
rated 3 of 5
cerisier 4/24/2006 9:01:00 AM

I recently tried this as a sample, and I do have to say that it did moisturize my hands pretty well without being too greasy. The only problem I had with the product was the smell, it made me somewhat nauseous. It was that bad to me, so I had to wash my hands about 5 minutes after application. I won't give up yet on Barielle's pproducts, I'll try the foot cream next!

Primer/ Corrector -Laura Mercier - Foundation Primer Oil -Free
rated 2 of 5
cerisier 4/20/2006 7:07:00 AM

I recently got a sample of this when I bought the new Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer and I have to say it really did nothing for me. Unfortunately it didn't make my foundation last any longer, in fact I think it may have lasted less than I'm used to. The consistancy is similar to the original primer, with the same smell. I must say that I regularly use the Smashbox primer and I've never had any issues with it, but I figured I'd give this one a try. Glad I didn't buy it before I tried it, I definitely wouldn't purchase this.

Crème -Laura Mercier - Silk Creme Foundation
rated 5 of 5
cerisier 4/18/2006 9:00:00 AM

I absolutely love this foundation! It gives me coverage without being too mask-like. I think the trick to this foundation is to start out with a very small amount like other reviewers have said, since a little really goes a long way. After I got the hang of application, I think the bottle will last awhile. I have combo skin, and with the right primer it lasts all day. That being said, it does have a bit of silicone in it, which gives it a bit of slip during application and I believe helps with the lasting power. For reference, I was matched to Rose Ivory and despite the name it still has a bit of yellow to it. I'm a MAC NW20. Overall, a definite repurchase!

Powder -Bare Escentuals - Bare Minerals in 1.2, fairly light
rated 1 of 5
cerisier 4/18/2006 8:27:00 AM

I saw all the ads on TV, and they made it look like the absolute BEST thing for your skin as far as makeup was concerned. I did try out the Starter Pack from Sephora, I got the hang of application, didn't even mind the way it made my skin shiny...but alas I broke out. I know they say it makes your skin better, but it clogged my pores so I had whiteheads all over my face...and I've never had that happen before? I knew this was the culprit, because my skin cleared up after I stopped using it.

I also found that when using this as a concealer, it tended to look cakey and yellow/orange after a few hours. Meaning you could see precisely where I applied the concealer, not my idea of "flawless". I think the color was wrong (but the closest match) but like a lot of other ladies have said...this color can be very yellow and I'm more cool toned. For reference I'm a MAC NW20.

Fragrances -Chanel - Allure Sensuelle
rated 5 of 5
cerisier 4/17/2006 11:27:00 PM

This perfume is like sex in a bottle! I have never received so many compliments on a fragrance before, it really works with my chemistry. It's such a warm, sexy, and sweet scent...but not too cloying. I don't like how the original Allure smells on me, I can't grasp what it was I didn't like about it but I suppose it just clashed with my body chemistry. I will definitely repurchase this, but like all Chanel fragrances, it will definitely put a dent in my wallet!

Primer/ Corrector -MAC - Prep + Prime Skin
rated 2 of 5
cerisier 4/17/2006 11:09:00 PM

I wanted to find a cheaper alternative to the Smashbox primer, unfortunately Prep+Prime Skin just doesn't fit the bill. It felt nice going on, the shimmer didn't even bother me, but it really didn't make my foundation last all day or stop any oily patches...at all. It didn't break me out either, which was a huge plus but I still can't justify using this. Overall, I'm let down by MAC's Prep+Prime line.

Moisturizers -MAC - Studio Moisture Cream
rated 5 of 5
cerisier 4/10/2006 10:23:00 AM

I finally caved in and bought this after getting a sample. I have combination skin that's mostly dry in the winter. I only use this as a night cream since I don't think my makeup would stay on too well if I used this in the day, plus there's no SPF. It is a heavier moisturizer, but the consistancy seems to be whipped so it's not too heavy. My skin feels unbelieveably soft and smooth when I wake up in the morning, I love it! The only downside to this cream for me is the packaging, I wish the jar was a little less wide...it's an odd shape. Overall I really like this moisturizer.

Concealers -MAC - Studio Touch-Up Stick [DISCONTINUED]
rated 2 of 5
cerisier 3/24/2006 10:02:00 AM

I really thought I was going to love this concealer, at least just for the portability factor alone. While it is portable, the product itself is quite emollient, it's just a bit too much as far as my normal to combo skin is concerned. Because of this, the product just doesn't last like I thought it would. I also gave it minus one lippie due to the fact you also have to buy MAC's special sharpener. Sadly back to the store it goes.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Adventurous
rated 5 of 5
cerisier 11/10/2005 8:12:00 AM

Would I buy this product again? Definitely a resounding YES!!! I agree with another reviewer, this is simply one of the best MAC lipglasses ever put out. I have highly pigmented lips, and I have a hard time finding a gloss that looks alright. I think this color would look beautiful on most skintones as well. For reference I'm an NW20. I'm about to buy a few more backups of this since it is LE. I just can't stop raving about this lipglass :)

Bronzers -Estee Lauder - Bronze Goddess
rated 5 of 5
cerisier 9/3/2005 5:54:00 PM

This is my absolute favorite bronzer for my fair skin. After recently getting disenchanted from Nars' Laguna, I tried this and loved it. Depending on application, I can look like I just had a day at the beach or I have a nice, tanned glow. I really think that this will last me throughout next season as the container is huge. The brush was a throw away since I use my own, but I guess for those that do use it..it's not too bad. I would definitely repurchase this again (whenever that may be, I haven't even put a dent in it yet!).
