This bb cream moisturizes my skin without making me appear oily, so it has really good oil control. I love that I don't have to moisturize and can just put this on as part of my skincare/makeup routine. The other benefits are similar to the ones I got from the pink label. It has SPF 25, which I am a huge fan of. And I love how lightweight this bb cream is - it doesn't even feel like I have anything on! It also covers my pores very well, without highlighting any blackheads. Granted it does not have as much coverage as the pink label, but it evens out my skin color and leaves my skin feeling moisturized. Overall I'd say one of the differences between the gold and pink label is that the gold is more moisturizing and has less coverage than the pink label. Also the gold is a way lighter shade than the pink label. *EDIT: I have to take off one lippie for the gold label because it is too white for my skin color. The color match is not good and my face has a white-ish cast. So I'm probably going to have to save this for the winter, when my skin is super pale. If only the color was a bit darker, this bb cream would've been my HG face makeup :(
This bb cream provides almost flawless coverage. It covers my pores, without highlighting the blackheads on my nose - I've never found a product that's been able to do this before. It also evens out my skin tone really well. I have light-medium Asian skin right now because it's winter/spring and it fits my skin tone okay (the pink label is a little darker than the gold). It's also very lightweight, and doesn't feel like I have anything on. I also love that it has SPF 25, which is a huge deal for me. And lastly it doesn't break me out (and I've been using this for about a month now). My main problem with this bb cream though is that it is too drying for my skin. I have to apply moisturizer beforehand, or else it will create dry patches of skin on my cheeks. I have dry-combo skin, so my cheeks can get pretty dry. I feel like this bb cream even makes my nose and forehead dry, so unfortunately I am going to stop using this. Maybe I can go back to the pink label in the summer, when my skin is more sweaty/oily. Overall if you have light-medium oily skin, then this bb cream will suit you very well.
Sunscreen -Coppertone - Sensitive Skin Faces SPF 50

I was going to buy the Coppertone Oil Free Faces Sunblock in SPF 30, but then I saw this sunblock right next to it and figured I should get this instead, since it has SPF 50. They were both the same price, but this Coppertone (Sensitive Skin) had less product than the Coppertone Oil Free Faces SPF 30. Anyway I got home and put the sunblock on my face and was very surprised at how white my face was (during the winter my skin is pretty light, and this sunblock made my face a whole shade paler). I put on my tinted moisturizer to add some color, but that didn't help much. I left it on for about an hour thinking it would sink in, but when I checked again the whiteness/paleness was still there. Also while I was putting it on, the sunblock had a very thick consistency and was hard to spread out and apply on my face. I had to rub it in a lot to get it to "blend" in. The only good thing is that my face did not get oily (I ended up wearing the sunblock for 4 hours) and my face did not break out. I think that if you have fair, oily, and sensitive skin, this product will fit you well. On the other hand, I will be returning this and trying the Coppertone Oil Free Faces Sunblock SPF 30 instead since it has better reviews.
Eye Makeup Remover -Estee Lauder - Gentle Eye Makeup Remover

I'm a bit sad to see this product get such bad reviews. I personally find this to be very effective in taking off eye makeup, especially mascara. I do have to scrub sometimes to remove my eyeliner, but I'm okay with that because it means my eyeliner is smudge proof (: This lasts a long time, though it could be because I dip a Q-tip into the product to wash off my makeup. I don't know how much this costs because my mom gets it from the EL gift packages, but I imagine that it is pretty expensive.
Eyeliner -Almay - Intense i-color liquid liner in brown topaz
cecilelpham 11/5/2012 12:18:00 AM
I tried this eyeliner, but it just doesn't work for me. The felt tip applicator isn't ideal for me, though it could be because I don't have a steady hand. Also it smudges easily and takes a long time to dry. The only positive thing I found is that the brown color is very pretty and has just the right amount of sparkle/glitter. My search continues for a suitable liquid eyeliner...
I received this as a freebie from Shoedazzle, so I decided to try this mascara for a month. I'm not sure if it's doing anything for my lashes - they appear to be the same length. And it doesn't hold curls very well either. I love the packaging though and the long brush makes it very easy to apply. If I was not given this as a gift, I don't think I would have bought it for its full price.
This mascara does wonders! I used to have very short eyelashes. In fact they were so short that I couldn't even curl them! But after using this mascara 2-3 times a week, my lashes got longer and appear to be more volumized. And I can now curl my lashes! Unfortunately this mascara does not hold curls very well. However if you need to lengthen your lashes, this will definitely help.
This is officially my go-to eyeliner! Unlike all the other eyeliners I have, this one does not smudge at all. However it can be hard to wash off sometimes. It's very smooth and easy to apply. Since I'm not a fan of using jet black eyeliner, I bought this in mocha, which actually looks good with brown eyes. Contrary to its name, this eyeliner does not have much glitter (which I prefer anyway). And even though it's cheap, this is way better than the more expensive eyeliners I've tried.
I love this moisturizer. It is the perfect remedy for my dried out skin during the fall and winter. On days when I have patches of dry skin, I put just a little in that area because applying too much will cause your skin to get oily. Nowadays I don't use this moisturizer as much, but I know it will definitely come in handy during the winter! Also it doesn't break me out, and I found that there are only a few ingredients in this product. So it's perfect for those with sensitive skin!
This is the first clay mask I've ever purchased, and I'm pretty happy with it. It has a nice orange smell and is really cheap! I love the fact that when I wash it off my face feels much softer and smoother! I personally don't think it's helping me eliminate my blackheads or shrink my pores, but it makes my face feel better and cleaner.
BB Cream -Estee Lauder - Daywear BB Anti-Oxidant Beauty Benefit Creme SPF 35
cecilelpham 11/4/2012 6:13:00 PM
First off I absolutely love Estee Lauder! So when I heard they were coming out with a BB cream, I had to try it. It has SPF 35 which is pretty much a dream come true for me, since most products only have up to SPF 15 or so. I actually really like the cucumber scent, which makes it very fresh. The consistency is great, though it's not very moisturizing. I had to put moisturizer on prior to this product, which defeats the purpose of an all-in-one BB cream. It was also too thick and heavy-feeling for my taste, and the product would settle into my pores, making the blackheads on my nose more noticeable. In the end I had to return this product because it wasn't working out for me :(
So I got a sample in shade 3 from my local Sephora. The consultant applied the product on my face too, and I left it on for about four hours. When I got home and looked in the mirror, I was horrified: my face was so oily and greasy! I wasn't sure if it was because the Sephora consultant applied too much product on my face, so I decided to give it another try. After using it for another three days, I concluded that this product is just very greasy and oily: I have combination skin and usually this is not a problem for me. Also even though this product is pretty thick, it does not conceal blemishes very well. And it has a very strong sunblock-like smell to it, which I don't particularly like that much. The only pros are that shade 3 matched my skin tone pretty well and it has SPF 30. Other than that I personally do not think this product is worth what you would have to pay for it. Thank goodness I got a sample beforehand.
When I first bought this product I was thrilled! It was perfect: the medium shade perfectly matched my skin, it had SPF 30 which is exactly what I wanted, my skin looked flawless when I put it on, coverage was excellent, and its texture was easy and blendable. However after about a week of using this product, I noticed that I was breaking out a bit. It thought it would go away, so I just covered the acne with this TM. Then another week later, I realized that my acne was getting worse, and my face wouldn't stop breaking out! I stopped using this product and it took about 2-3 weeks for my acne to clear. I really tried to make it work, but this product was just hazardous for my skin. Also ewg.com/skindeep (a website that rates toxicity of makeup products) says the toxicity of this product is about an 8/10. If you decide to use this product, just be careful!
Tinted Moisturizer -Physicians Formula - Organic Wear
cecilelpham 11/4/2012 1:54:00 AM
This is my everyday HG product - it moisturizes, has SPF 15, and evens out my skin tone. I have Asian skin and "natural-tan" works great for me. It matches my tanned skin in the summer and also fits my paler skin during the winter. I have combination skin and it makes my skin a little oily, but in a good/natural way. However if you apply too much your face will become very greasy. I apply this very sparingly around my face using my fingers. Like most people said, it provides sheer coverage which is perfect for those who want a more natural look. It's very lightweight and feels like you're not wearing anything at all! This is good because it does not clog my pores or make blackheads noticeable. And unlike other TM's with SPF I've tried (and trust me I've experimented with a lot), this is the only one that does not break me out. It does tend to separate, but that can be remedied by giving it a shake before using it. Also there is a pinetree-like smell, but that doesn't bother me much because it goes away after you put it on. I'm a low maintenance person and I only use this on my face before going out. Overall if you want a light product to protect and even your skin tone, this is perfect for you!
