Polishes -Chanel - Rose Confidentiel

First tried this from a friend, and even though I don't normally wear nail varnishes, I have to make an exception for this. I am pretty dark-skinned with warm brown undertones (NW50), and this looks so subtle and classy it never goes un-noticed or without compliments.

I too got this after seeing a video on YouTube. It basically works as well as a top primer, without the price tag. I'm converted.

Lotions/ Creams -Kiehls - Creme de corps soy milk and honey whipped body butter

OMG! That just about sums this up. Having being subjected to teasing (mostly friendly) last summer about my dry feet (which were perfectly moisturised when I left home in the mornings), I sought to find a product that would not only moisturise, but keep my skin moisturised and hydrated for at least 24 hours. It was purely by chance then that I would be given two samples of the original (unscented) Creme de Corps after purchasing one of my regular products from Westfield store. So I took this to Paris on holiday, as I figured it'd save me packing a moisturising lotion. That was a 3 nights, 4 day break. Well, the sample (which is tiny) lasted me the whole of two days, and I had to open the second one on the third day after showering and share with the hubby. Paris was a lot warmer than London, and I was mainly in sandals and slippers, meaning the soles and sides of my feet were exposed to the elements. This is the ONLY product thus far that has kept the tell-tale white flakes off my feet (which is the driest part of my body) all day. The bonus is the smell...simply DIVINE. I am a fan of a lasting scent, layered, and must confess I smelt so good I almost licked myself lol. Not at all overpowering, but lasted the whole day. This will now be my daily moisturiser, Well worth the ££

Crème -Becca - Stick Foundation

I love this, but for those who want a "made-up" look", I can understand why they would not be fans. This is a foundation for those after a natural look; it enhances and perfects rather than disguising, and I just love it with the loose finishing powder. The best way to get the perfect colour would be to get it matched instore, and the range of colours really does mean that there's something for most skin tones. Highly recommended.

Toners -Clinique - Clarifying Lotion #3
ccee2k 6/6/2012 10:38:00 AM
I switched from Liz Earle to Clinique because I was advised to rotate skincare products every so often (or switch between two or three), as the skin gets used to the same ingredients after a while and it stops being effective. So I ventured to the Clinique side. The Dramatically Different gel is fantastic, but I was not at all impressed with this toner. I haven't used alcohol or harsh ingredients on my face for over 5 years (thanks to Lush, Liz Earle and Kiehl's), but the first thing that hit me was the smell of alcohol when you open this! I will finish off the bottle, but will try the Clarin's toner with Iris next, which purports to also be good for oily skin.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel

OMG! I have used pretty much everything that is out there in my quest for appropriate moisturisation for my very oily skin, and this, so far, has no rival. I have been using this for just over two weeks, and the difference is amazing! It appears a little pricey, but a little really does go a long way, so I guess it works out reasonable. Would definetely recommend.

Sunscreen -Kiehls - Ultra Light Daily UV Defense SPF 50 PA+++
ccee2k 6/6/2012 10:14:00 AM
I bought this alongside the Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution, as you need a high SPF for sun protection. My only concern with this is that, if used with the CCDS Solution during the day, my oily skin only stays matte for a maximum of 3 hrs, so by lunchtime, I need to blot or re-poweder. However, by itself as a high factor SP, it does the job and I've not had any sun spots etc since I started using it. However, I will be trying Clinique's (Super) City Block next for my very oily skin.

Treatments -Kiehls - Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution

I bought this product after much convincing from the salesman, as I went in to get the old formula (that's in a tube package). He promised me this was better, I'd see results quicker etc., and failing that could return it insofar I had at least half the bottle left, so I bought it. I also bought their SPF50. I have deep-brown type skin (think India Arie), which is very oily, but my main concern is black spots from troubled teenage skin. I have now being using this product for just over two weeks, and I have definetely seen an improvement. I was previously struggling to remain matte during the warm spell we had in London around last month, and that prompted me to sort out my dark spots, so I can wear omit the foundation and wear only powder with confidence. I have now had a week of only wearing powder on my face (on top of my toner, Clinique moisturiser, Kiehl's CCDPS and SPF50), and the last time my skin loked this good was when I was 20! It may be that mine was a skin type which doesn't require much (except the dark spot and oily skin, I have quite good skin), but the confidence this has given me is priceless.
