Self Tanners -Bath and Body Works - Strike Gold
ccbemiller 3/5/2013 2:03:00 AM
I've tried many self tanners and this has to be one of my favorites. I have fair skin so it definitely gives off more of a golden color than a brown one. Might not work on all skin tones. I tend to notice that this can be really slimy at first and then quite drying so I try to mix this with some lotion when applying. I always receive compliments when wearing this. The downside: it does smell. That's why I use a coconut or tropical scented lotion when mixing it with the self tanner. Remember to exfoliate first as this will creep into dry areas. I would say this typically lasts for about 3 days. I usually can go the whole weekend before it fades and I have to reapply.

Eye Makeup Remover -Neutrogena - Oil Free eye makeup remover

BEST. MAKEUP. REMOVER. EVER. Having always used Lancome Bi-Facial Makeup Remover and spending a fortune, I decided to branch out and find something new. This has to the the best drugstore makeup remover hands down. It takes off every stubborn trace of makeup. The price comes in around $6 a bottle and a little goes a long way which is nice. I wear waterproof mascara on a daily basis so this definitely helps.

Primer/ Corrector -Urban Decay - All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray
ccbemiller 3/5/2013 1:43:00 AM
As a newbie to setting sprays (only ever having tried MAC Fix+), I figured I'd give this one a shot when I found it on sale at my local Nordstrom Rack. I'm sure glad I did! I seriously don't know how I've gone all this time without a setting spray! Alcohol is one of the main ingredients in this, so I heard it can be drying if you use on a daily basis but I haven't had any problems. In fact, I have oily skin and it may be helping. I spray a couple sprays on each side of my face, on my forehead and chin. It feels sticky at first but then it dries. I can honestly say I haven't needed to touch up my makeup throughout the day when using this. It's a lifesaver! MAC Fix+ leaves you with a dewy, flushed appearance (perfect if you want a little moisture) whereas All Nighter doesn't do that. It just keeps your makeup intact until you wash it off. Already bought my 2nd bottle and will definitely purchase again.

Primer/ Corrector -Hard Candy - Sheer Envy Skin Perfecting Primer
ccbemiller 3/5/2013 1:31:00 AM
Many people had recommended I try this product and I'm so glad I did! It's a great price and feels silky smooth on my skin. Even my sister noticed how incredibly soft it was compared to her other primers. It does a great job at hiding imperfections (I have some scarring on my face from teenage acne) and making makeup last. The one thing I did notice when I was using it everyday was that it made me break out. So I reduced it to the nights when I go out and want my makeup to last. This seems to be just fine. Would definitely purchase again for the price but will continue my quest for the perfect primer.

Self Tanners -Hard Candy - Glow All the Way Bronzer and Self Tanner
ccbemiller 3/5/2013 1:19:00 AM
I'm an avid self tanner and have tried almost everything on the market so when I came across this little bad boy I figured I'd give it a try. For the price you can't beat it! First of all, this is an instant tan and will wash off as soon as you enter water. If you want a "true" self tanner, then go for something with staying power. This would be used best for a night out when you want a little glow. I used this on my arms and legs, and will say that the color was not what I was expecting. Definitely a copper reddish shade that was a little scary at first. I had to rub and rub until I got the desired shade. I even used a towel to get off the excess. But in the end I was left with a nice and subtle glow. Would purchase again.

Styling Products -TiGi - Bead Head Hard Head Hairspray
ccbemiller 3/5/2013 1:03:00 AM
This is by far the best hairspray I've ever purchased. Not only does it smell good but it doesn't leave my hair feeling crunchy. It also holds all day long. And I mean ALL DAY LONG! I have naturally thick, wavy hair which is now somewhat damaged from processing and this stuff seems to do wonders. For a decent price, you can't beat it. If you don't want to fork out $20 for hairspray then the closest drugstore dupe that I've found is Aussie Instant Freeze hairspray for less than $5. Still doesn't beat Bed Head but it's the closest I've found.

Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara
ccbemiller 3/5/2013 12:49:00 AM
This mascara is the best! I've tried them all and I still always come back to this. No clumpiness or flaking and lasts all day long. I wouldn't say this creates a dramatic lash but more of a natural looking one. It's perfect for everyday wear. Whenever I want to go out I just add fake eyelashes anyway. Just remember if you buy the waterproof version (like me) you will need to use a makeup remover to get it off.
