Treatments (Eye) -Neutrogena - Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Eye Cream

I've only been using this a little while but I think I"m seeing a difference. I don't really have a lot of wrinkles YET but i'm trying to do prevention on my under and sides of my eyes (the only place I'm starting to see lines)...this stuff is light and sinks in quick.

<3! I love this product and I've only been using it a week. I've used other serum-y type things on my skin to even my skin tone and keep wrinkles at bay and this stuff just does it all, without any drawbacks. Old dark spots from acne are even starting to fade.
Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aztec - Indian Healing Clay
cbenjamin313 9/14/2012 5:41:00 PM
I've only used it once, last night, and it seems very safe and effective. Truthfully, I put it on and fell asleep for about an hour, and it was a pain to wash off. I couldn't even move my mouth to get it to crack, it was like cement for real. But when finally got it off, several of the permanent blackheads on the sides of my nose were gone. GONE. And nothing I tried in the past would get rid of those suckers! So I am very pleased with the results of this mask.
Hair -Dove - Nourishing Care Shampoo & Conditioner
cbenjamin313 6/18/2012 5:56:00 PM
I'm trying to move away from conventional shampoos and conditioners as I grow out my curly hair, but I keep coming back to this combination. I love how it's rich and feels really good in my hands and in my wet hair. And the two work well together after my hair dries. Definitely less frizz and softer texture. I am not interested in lots of products, so my cuts have to be perfect, and so does the raw material. I would strongly encourage other people to try these products if they have unruly hair, and don't want to go the no-poo route.
Not my favorite formula, but ooh i love the curved brush for this mascara. NO clumping! :) I use this mascara for work and something thickening for night time.
Scrubs -Softsoap - Moisturizing Body Wash Coconut Scrub
cbenjamin313 6/18/2012 5:49:00 PM
This is a good drugstore body wash. I have dry skin so I am always having to slather on lotion after showering, but with this wash I don't *have to* unless I want to. It has a nice smell...it's not super exfoliating but it'll get you clean, and make you smell good. If you get it on sale or with a coupon, it's a good value.
Masks -Freeman - Feeling Beautiful - Facial CLAY MASK Avocado & Oatmeal

I almost never use masks - they're kinda gimmicky to me. But I think this one works. Research the second and third ingredients (kaolin and bentonite), they're the real deal, been in use for centuries for skin. It's got a decent smell and goes on smoothly. While it's on I can feel it purging (or at least I think I can), and it dries fairly quickly if I'm in a hurry. When I rinse it off it's not so hard to get rid of, and I feel like my skin is clean. I did try it on a couple of zits overnight and they dried up. It's inexpensive and effective. Love.

I waited a month before reviewing this. I was looking at the Clarisonic Mias but didn't want to pay that much. Walgreen's put these babies on sale so I picked one up. I will say that it IS helping with my chronic comedonal acne, as part of a regimen. I do not use it with the cleanser that came in the box, just my usual 2% salicylic acid face wash. It goes on easy enough and the scrubbing on high speed seems like just what I need to get the cleanser deep into the pores, and I re-wet the brush when my face starts to dry while I'm scrubbing. You do have to be careful about your product getting slung into your eyes and/or across the room. But a little practice helps with that. It's worth the price, because it is way more effective than my hands or a washcloth. I can see how someone with senstive skin would want to use it every other day, but I use it at least once every single day with no negative effects. It gets my skin super clean and ready for the treatments I put on it. I highly recommend it to people who get impossible to extract blackheads/whiteheads! If you give it at least a month it will help you clear out some of that junk. I'm excited to see how my skin looks in another month. THANK YOU OLAY for making this kind of skincare available to the average person.
Moisturizers -Clean & Clear - advantage oil-free Acne Moisturizer
cbenjamin313 9/25/2011 5:31:00 PM
Murad is going to hate me. I found this after LOTS of research. They make a .5% salicylic acid treatment that is horribly expensive, but effective. So I was hunting and hunting for a drugstore version. This is it! I'm 36 but have always had acne. I use this as my nighttime treatment/moisturizer and it does work. Keeps the blackheads and zits under control, at least for me. You can feel it tingling for a while after you put it on. I like the design of the bottle too. It's easy to tell when it's closed so it's great for travel/gym etc. Well worth the 6 bucks!
Cleansers -Neutrogena - Natural Fresh Cleansing + Makeup Remover
cbenjamin313 9/25/2011 5:25:00 PM
I like this cleanser a lot! I wash my face twice at night so this is the first step in my skin care regime. It completely removes my concealer and mascara and lip stains with no problem. It will sting if it gets in your eyeball but if you're careful about the eye area it's very gentle and effective. I agree with the previous poster that the pump on my first bottle did break off...who knows why...but I just bought another bottle and switched the pump out.
Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Healthy Defense Liquid Moisturizer SPF 50
cbenjamin313 9/25/2011 5:18:00 PM
This is the best sunscreen I've ever used. I'm biracial but freckle so I use sunscreen every day and high SPF during the Texas summer. This sinks right into the skin and doesn't leave a whitish cast to the skin. I highly recommend this to olive and darker skinned women who want to protect their skin without looking ashy!!!
Treatments -Burt's Bees - Natural Acne Solutions - Targeted Spot Treatment

I got this product as a substitute for Murad's insanely expensive .05% salicylic acid serum recommended to me. BB is a fave any way since there are more natural ingredients. The container is small and a little weird - I just shake out 4 or 5 drops into one palm and use my fingertips to apply the treatment to my nose and chin (I'm trying to control blackheads there). I don't use any cotton so that I don't lose any product. So far the product isn't drying me out like a 2% gel would and the blackheads are slowly purging. I would change the scent if I could but it's not a deal breaker.
Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Face Lotion with SPF 15
cbenjamin313 1/17/2011 9:31:00 PM
I got this at the recommendation of my facialist. I think its a great drugstore product in that it has all those fab AHAs to turn over my aging skin cells. BUT 2 things bug me about it: 1. I want more SPF! At least 30! I feel like 15 just isn't enough to protect my skin while the AHAs are working. 2. Don't EVER get this stuff on your lips. I have brushed it on mine accidentally and was left with ashy crusty lips for days. Not hot.
The best lotion I've ever used on my face. I have extremely acne-prone skin that also gets regular chemical peels to control comedones. That, plus the salicylic acid face wash I use can really dry out my skin. AND I'm almost 36 so I need a night moisturizer. I used a friend's bottle of CeraVe one night and bought my own the next day. I've never used a face lotion without getting blackheads and this stuff works GREAT. My skin feels balanced and soft and I wake up looking "reset". It is my Holy Grail night time product.
Treatments (Eye) -Olay - Regenerist Eye Touch of Concealer
cbenjamin313 12/22/2010 6:03:00 AM
This is more like an eyeshadow primer than a true concealer for me, but I do use it every work day to smooth and brighten the eye area. I don't have dark circles but only minor discoloration of the lids that comes with age. And thank goodness because it does not provide much coverage alone. But it helps bare minerals or other concealers (like my greasy but full coverage smashbox) go on more smoothly if I have a late night or something. And being in my mid 30s I don't dare apply eyeshadow without this stuff as a primer. I trust Olay to take care of my skin and this is a quality moisturizer. But for the price, I'll probably keep shopping for something that's good for my eyes and a true concealer.
