Mascara -Bare Escentuals - Flawless Definition Volumizing mascara

Favorite mascara ever, and I've tried dozens. This mascara does a great job in layering several coats on without getting twiggy or clumpy. It's soft and natural-feeling, and makes my lashes look plump and long. I will say that it does flake and I have to dab a bit under my eyes with damp fingertips throughout the day, but I feel that minor setback is worth the way this mascara makes my eyes really pop. Much love here.
Eyeliner -Bare Escentuals - Round the Clock Waterproof Eyeliner

When I first got this eyeliner fresh from ULTA, I was in LOVE with it. It makes a very clear, thin, solid black line, and I could even use it on my waterline. I was practically salivating over how perfect this eyeliner was. Then the tip, naturally, wore down, so I sharpened it to use it again...and this eyeliner is now awful. The tip is so soft it breaks and leaves clumps behind on the base of my upper lashes that are really difficult to remove and make my eyelashes feel very heavy even before mascara. It's impossible to use for a thin line, and a straight line requires a VERY steady hand, which it did not when I first got it. Considering the price, I'm sad I only got about ten days of use out of it. If I could figure out how to get it sharpened to its original state, this would definitely be 5 lippies. The pigmentation is really astounding, but the fact that I can't use it properly outweighs all the original perks.
Since the LUSH store I went to in Seattle can give you a larger sample for a small price, that's how I got Dark Angels scrub. For what the scrub is supposed to do, definitely 5 lippies: My skin was incredibly soft and smooth, and it helped even out the redness in my cheeks--especially used with toner and moisturizer. I honestly loved touching my face, and it really made my skin glow. However, I'm not a big fan of the scent (it smells a bit like charcoal, which is a "duh" moment with the ingredients, but I don't find it super pleasant), and this scrub, because it's black, is near impossible to get clean. It left black streaks on my face and neck I had to really scrub to get off, plus it made my bathtub and sink hard to clean too. Such a shame, because otherwise this would definitely be my HG face scrub. If you have darker skin, or don't mind doing some extra work to remove the stains, this product is fabulous. I gave it to a friend who'd seen it in my shower and she absolutely loves it and is getting her own tub soon. So while I do recommend it, I personally won't be repurchasing.
BB Cream -Maybelline - Dream Fresh 8-in-1 BB Cream

After using this bb cream for almost two months, I feel like I've used it enough to give a good review. PROS: 1. Makes my skin look dewy and soft. 2. Easy to apply and blend. 3. Brightens my complexion. 4. Doesn't make my skin break out or get angry. CONS: 1. Sheer--very sheer--coverage, which I expected based on other reviews but was surprised to find out *how* sheer. I have to put a little concealer on over my cheeks to even out some of the redness I have there. 2. Doesn't last long at all, maybe 4-6 hours at the most. 3. Doesn't look good if you try to reapply throughout the day. I found that it became way too dark on my face, and also lost some of its luster, which is the appeal of the bb cream for me. Overall...I do like this product for those days when I want to feel more natural with my makeup and don't intend to go anywhere for a long time, or go out after work. I've used Bare Minerals for seven years (and I still love it, but was interested in the idea of a bb cream), so I was also surprised that this bb cream didn't make me break out like I do whenever I use anything but Bare Minerals. That was a nice plus. And I will say that my skin looks absolutely lovely when I first apply it. However, for me, this is a makeup I can only use if I want to look bright and smooth for a few hours. This is definitely not an all-day kind of wear, and not a makeup you can reapply throughout the day...unless you take off the first layer with makeup remover and start fresh. I would (and will) buy this again, but it can never be my HG face makeup.
Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Mega Plush

This is the best mascara I've ever used...when I can get it to apply correctly, which often ends up being a shot in the dark. The product DOES work the way it says it does--my lashes are full, long, plump, luscious, the works. But when the moon is in the wrong position in the sky, or when the bears have gone into hibernation for the winter, or when the sorcerer casts the wrong spell at the inopportune moment...this is the worst mascara I have ever used. When it doesn't work, it's gloopy, it clumps, and is impossible to apply. And the thing is, I can't tell you exactly why it'll work sometimes and it won't work other times. I've finally found some tricks to making it behave a little better (like applying it to the tips of my lashes first and gently, slowly, working my way back), but some days it simply doesn't work. For that, I don't feel comfortable giving it any higher than three lippies. But let me tell you--when this product works, it is completely fantastic. WHEN it works.
