Concealers -Clinique - Even Better Concealer
rated 2 of 5
cat3542 2/19/2013 9:47:00 PM

I initially began using this product in the hopes of achieving a fuller coverage under my eyes; unfortunately, that wasn't the case. First and foremost, this product is ridiculously priced, $20 for such a small amount of concealer is silly, even with the added "benefits." Second, the packaging is awkward as it is unsanitary to use your fingers continuously and even more difficult to fit a brush into the small container, and lastly, the coverage! Alright, because this is a cream based product, I believed the coverage would easily build to a full coverage whilst maintaining a natural appearance, wrong. Not only did this crease ridiculously, it got oily and left a nasty residue! I'm a Clinique fanboy, and will never change brands, but this did not live up to the hype.

Misc Beauty Tools -Olay - Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System

Sadly enough, I have not had a good reaction to this product--after only five days of usage, my clear face is now infested with 4 tiny bumps, some which appear to be enlarged blackheads!--ouch! I was very hesitant to purchase, and now I'm glad I kept my receipt! I was wanting to try the Clarisonic Mia, but like most, I cannot just dish over $150 out for a cleansing device. I hope with people such as myself, with extremely oily, and acne-prone skin, that they will have better luck with this than myself.

Toners -Clinique - Mild Clarifying Lotion
rated 5 of 5
cat3542 9/5/2012 12:13:00 AM

After trying out Neutrogena's Alcohol-Free Toner and seeing no visible results, I decided to give Clinique's Clarifying lotion #3 and #4 a try--HOLY SHIT, IT BURNS!!! Why a toner which claims to decrease oil production would contain alcohol is beyond my comprehension; not only did both of those toners leave my skin red and tight, the oil production which ensued after was the worse I had ever seen! So, after doing some more research, I found the Mild Clarifying Lotion which contained NO Alcohol, but still had Salcyclic Acid: a must for greasers as myself. I've been using this product for over a month, and I can say it has limited my oil throughout the day and night, while providing sufficient moisture. Bottom Line: I would like to say this is my HG toner.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel
rated 4 of 5
cat3542 8/28/2012 11:42:00 PM

Overall, this is my go-to moisturizer for my ridiculously oily skin. After washing my face, and applying toner, I use one pump all over--including my neck--and enjoy the oil-free formula as it glides over my face, and doubles as a make-up primer. Surprisingly, it has not broken me out at all, and due to its' gel consistency, it does not contribute to any EXTRA oil production; that's always nice. I have to say, I have searched high and low for a decent moisturizer, and this is the one I plan on sticking with for a very long time--because admit it, trying new products is scary; you face the possibility of breaking out, having an allergic reaction, or just not being pleased with the results. Go in to a rep, test it out, and see what happens: it doesn't hurt to try!

Toners -Neutrogena - Pore Refining Toner
rated 1 of 5
cat3542 8/28/2012 11:30:00 PM

Ouch! Talk about dry, and irritated skin after using this product! I was very hopeful and expecting of this toner to do as advertised--wrong! Not only did it cause me to break out, my skin developed an awful rash which made my chin area extremely red and my forehead ridiculously oily! If you have acne-prone and very oily skin such as myself, steer away from this toner and try something which is alcohol-free. For example, Clinique's "Mild" Clarifying lotion, not numbers 1-4 of their infamous 3 step system. I love Neutrogena, but this was just not for me.

Liquid -Clinique - Stay-Matte Oil-Free Makeup
rated 4 of 5

So far so good, and I am loving the texture this foundation has given my oily skin! If there is one thing I can say has fascinated me to continue with this purchase, it would be the fact that one night while on the town, I had went to a friends to spend the night, and had no opportunity to wash my face; after falling asleep with this foundation still on, I knew as I woke up the next day that I was going to have some awful zits from my clogged pores: I DIDN'T HAVE A SINGLE PIMPLE. From use of past foundations, I was shocked at this turn of events, and was immediately sold. I plan to continue with this foundation as it does offer a noticeably diminished appearance of oil, and smells fantastic. Concealers and all other primers before hand have been thrown out the door as this has buildable coverge--applied with foundation brush. Give this a try my fellow greasers, and if it does not work, just take it on back--it won't be the first time you have been let down from a product, but I hope it won't happen in this case. :) EDIT (4 October, 2012) Well, as school is now in session, I frequently break out. I still love the matte finish this foundation offers, but have came to the conclusion that it does not have the coverage I need when I have a stubborn red zit, or a scab which needs concealing; the other day i had tried to build some coverage on a scar I had on my forehead, and by the end of the day it looked like a glob of caked up goo.Every once in awhile I would see somebody look my way, pause, and stare at that obvious make-up spot, and look away. I'm currently on a sample of the Clinique Acne Solutions line which offers more coverage: I'll post a review of that soon.

Concealers -Clinique - Advanced Concealer
rated 1 of 5
cat3542 6/29/2012 2:18:00 AM

Suffering from oily and acne-prone skin, I hesitate when trying out new products; I should have never tried with this one. Said to be one of the best concealers on the market, this concealer did anything BUT conceal, and instead, caked in the locations I barely dabbed, and made the slight scar I had a massive distraction. After taking this product back, the rep herself told me that she didn't care for the product for the same reasons, and offered me the acne-solutions concealer which I immediately turned down from the ratings it received here on MUA. I'm very upset with Clinique as I was making the switch from Neutrogena; but now that I cannot find a single concealer, I may just have to suck it up and apply a full coverage foundation to simple scars and blemishes--I don't like doing this as I have severely oily skin! Overall, if you have oily skin, you will NOT like this product: YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Toners -Neutrogena - Alcohol-Free Toner
rated 3 of 5
cat3542 5/16/2012 6:41:00 PM

Suffering from extremely oily, and acne-prone skin, I have yet to find my HG when it comes to toners. I have been using this toner for a little more than a week, and I have came to two conclusions: #1. It does not work well if you apply before beginning your day, and hope to see a less shiny face--in fact, it leaves a slight residue upon being applied--and #2, it is a great before bed toner--I feel as though my face is moisturized and refreshed--but yet again, do not expect any drastic changes to your oily face! Overall, I enjoy this product because it's "Alcohol-free," and prevents my oil glands from producing more oil (an effect alcohol has) however, it does not noticeably halt, or decrease my daily production. Maybe there is not a toner which last throughout the day, but it would be nice if I found one!--until then, this will due for the night time. EDIT: I am now using Clinique's "Mild" Clarifying Lotion which contains NO alcohol, but Salcylic Acid: interesting, eh? :)
