Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Ujene Switzerland Puriste Collagen Serum

I finally found my HG serum! Abit pricey but definitely worth it in my case. I love how my skin soaks up all the goodness in just 15 seconds and leaves it feeling supple and hydrated for the rest of the day. I have ultra sensitive skin and it's been a tough battle finding a product that's suitable. I had used Genefique and Skinceuticals Phloretin CF but both contain denat alcohol and after bouts of breakouts I finally identified DA must be the issue so I avoid all serums that have that. My dry skin just reacts like crazy whenever an unsuitable product is used. I tried a sample and my skin did not react so I bought it. After just 2 weeks, I notice fine lines gone from my 'smile lines' around my cheeks. I find that really amazing. I guess the 10% collagen really works. I usually use a mist before the serum to lock in the moisture and that's working very well for me. It also contains hyaluronic acid and vit c, both work great for my skin. And best is, it is free from parabens so that's good enough for me.

Highlighters -Jane Iredale - 24 Karat Gold Dust

Oh I love this product! I was careful (with all the good advice here) not to use it on it's own but mix a little up with other products and voila! I combined it with my foundation and I had a very gorgeous but subtle glow, definitely better than the usual matt look that dulls off towards the end of the day. It kept me looking good for a good 7 hours! I also used a little with my hair serum and I felt like a queen.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Even Better Skin Tone Correcting Moisturizer SPF 20

Pretty poor product that I got sold by the SA at the counter. Doesn't do any form of moisturizing and I feel my skin dry up within an hour. Try samples before purchasing!

I have eczema on my hands so I used this, as recommended by the sales at the local pharmacy. It is pretty greasy to be honest and if I'm rushing in the morning, it's almost impossible to get anything done after applying this. It's great at night though before I turn in. I find it does help if I apply it right after I shower.

I would buy if they sold it! Haha! I literally lol-ed when I saw this listed! Due to hormonal changes, sometimes my skin gets soooo oily and it's embarrassing for me. There was once I ran out of blotting paper at Starbucks so I just used these napkins and whoa! Oil-free for the next 5 hours! It's funny how everyone seems to know about this!

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Benetint

I would buy this again! That is, when I finish it. This is a lovely product. I've been using Bobbi Brown's bronzer and Chanel blusher for the past 1 year. My friend did an online order for Benefit and wanted more orders to defray the cost. It's insanely priced where I am right now. I didn't think I'd really be pleased because I didn't quite like Boi-ing but I just thought of trying and helping a friend. Wow am I surprised! Ok not much of news but I like that it suits both my lips and cheeks! Somehow the tint on both areas make me look somewhat younger than my actual age but not in a nasty way but in a refreshing way. Not to mention how long-lasting it is that I need not reapply every 3 or 4 hours. I am pale and I love it but I'd not vouch for everyone.

Moisturizers -La Prairie - Anti-Aging Day Creme SPF 30
cassyvoss 9/2/2011 5:17:00 AM
I've always been a fan of La Prairie so I do love the texture of this cream very much. At my age, I do have combo skin but this cream does very well to moisturize, hydrate and keep the sheen away whilst giving me a nice, healthy glow. I can even go without powder when I'm out of time in the morning. Also great that it doesn't grease out like other creams even in a hot tropical climate. Only problem, as usual, is the price. I would repurchase 60% if I can't find a cheaper alternative.

Cakey. Highlighted my lines. Even when I have very fair skin. Too little and there's no effect. Too much and it cakes up. I'm going to use the rest of it as a highlighter because it fails as a concealer. Maybe it's my dry skin.

Bronzers -Bobbi Brown - Illuminating Bronzing Powder in Antigua

This suits me very well. You have to be very pale for this to turn up well on your skin. For me, I like a healthy pinkish hue instead of full-on bronzer (yes, this is not exactly 100% bronzer, in case you're looking for one) and this fits the bill very well. Don't get this if you're looking for a bronzer tanned look, you will most likely be disappointed. If you're looking for a lil summer glowing look, I think you'd be pleased.

Makeup Brushes -Jane Iredale - Handi Brush

My HG brush! I never believed in using good brushes but there was once I was buying my usual stuff from J.I and the sales associate did a free makeover for me using this brush. I bought the products (rating 3.5, review another time) but couldn't achieve the same look! So I went back and got the brush and woot! Definitely a must, especially good with mineral make up. I absolutely love the soft softness of the brush and I'm a believer of brushes now.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Extra Virgin Olive Oil
cassyvoss 8/8/2011 3:48:00 AM
I tried oil cleansing method with EVOO before. In fact, mix it with castor oil and glycerin for even better cleansing effects. However, do take note of a few things: I'm currently in a tropical, humid Asian city and my skin broke out within 1 week of the OCM. Back during winter days, EVOO was my savior but my skin can't take it in this climate. One more point to take note, do not rub and massage for more than 1 minute. Although it's therapeutic to feel and see all the white heads and clogs coming off, over doing it is a surefire way to acne attack! But it was good while it lasted.

Primer/ Corrector -Yves Saint Laurent - Touche Eclat (Radiant Touch)
cassyvoss 8/8/2011 3:10:00 AM
I am a little torn about this product. It definitely helps highlight and also brighten up my dark eye circles to give me a 'perked-up' look. All the more since it does not seem drying as I have dry eye lids. On the other side, I've started getting milia seeds-alike mini bumps at the corners of my eyes. Has anyone else gotten those? Quite a letdown. I will stay off it for the time being.

Is it only me or something is missing... This does not conceal at all, in fact it highlights my lines and makes my eyes look older than they already are :( Perhaps I have way too dry skin around my eyes. Not suitable for me. I'd tried moisturizing my eyes even more before I put this on but the result was cakey. I'd have to give this away.

Well, maybe I won't buy this again since I've been using the same one for the past 10 years and it's still good as new. Amazing, incredible, the BEST!

Moisturizers -La Mer - Creme de la mer moisturizer
cassyvoss 8/8/2011 12:52:00 AM
I've been using La Prairie and my sister passed me a jar of this cream because she broke out after just 2 applications and it's just too expensive to throw away. I've heard that it's similar and even better than La Prairie so I thought, why not? After I used it for 2 days, twice each day, I've developed several white heads on my cheeks and 2 acne pimples on my forehead. I checked the ingredients and saw mineral oil. That's probably the reason why. My skin is not suitable for mineral oil based products. Probably just me. But not gonna touch this again.
