I love Maybelline mascaras, so whenever they come out with something new, I want to try it! I'm a fan of The Falsies, Mega Plush and now The Rocket! I was a little nervous to try this because I don't usually use mascaras with stiff bristles, but after watching/reading reviews I decided to buy it. This stuff works amazing and is comfortable while applying even though the bristles are stiff. It glides on smooth and within one coat it looks amazing. PROS: The color. I bought mine in "Blackest Black" and within one coat my lashes were super dark. I love this because some mascaras take 3 coats to get a dramatic look, and with this it's super easy. I also really love the stiff bristle brush. It sweeps my lashes root to tip and is easy to work with, even for the inner and outer lashes. I like that the mascara has a stopper so you don't get a whole bunch of unwanted product on the brush and the packaging is cute. CONS: I bought the regular version, not the waterproof, but I wouldn't put this on my bottom lashes because I'm sure it would transfer onto my face. I only say this because I went for a nap one day with it on and from my eyes being shut, it transferred a little bit on the outer corners of my under eye area. But, that's what waterproof versions are for so it's not that big of a concern.
Eye Shadow -Essence - Sun club (glamour to go eyeshadow)

I don't know why so many people don't like this product because it is amazing!!! If you are a beginning, or love makeup and want an eye shadow palette that will give you neutral colors for every day looks, this palette is for you. I love makeup and now that I'm 22 I'm trying to do more neutral looks that still look sexy. This palette has some good colors in it and isn't very much money. Everyone talks about the Naked palette (which is gorgeous, and if I had an extra $50 laying around for makeup, I'd think about buying it, but I'd rather buy 20 or more products for $50 than just one product for $50). All of the shadows in this palette are super pigmented, do not crease, and can be used to achieve lots of different looks for day or night. I always use an eye shadow primer so I've never tried this shadow on it's own, but with a primer it does not budge. The shadow lasts all day and night and I love that it has some shimmer to it. The palette has 7 shades that have shimmer and 1 shade that is more of a matte, but I love all of them. CONS: If you don't like shimmer I can understand why you wouldn't like this palette, but it's not big chunks or glitter or anything. Another con could be the brush it comes with. I don't use the brush it comes with personally because I'd rather use my makeup brushes, but it's not a bad brush if you had this palette in your purse or something. Another con could be the packaging. It doesn't look as chic as it could, but this brand is for all ages so you can't expect fabulous. I do like that the packaging is see through though, so you can see every shadow without opening it. For me though, the cons don't matter because the product itself works beautifully and that's all I care about.
I love all Annabelle products so when I was looking for a BB cream and found out Annabelle had one, I bought it thinking it would be amazing... Sadly, I was wrong! I have Ivory skin so I bought the lightest one which is Light/Medium. It blended out fine on my hand at the store but when I went to use it on my face it ended up being a lot darker than my actual skin tone (possibly because of the yellow undertone). I tried applying it a few times with different brushes, but it just never turned out right (I think because my skin has a pink undertone). I always set my foundation so I did the same thing and set this BB cream with a powder since I have combination skin and can sometimes get oily in my T zone. After about 3 hours of wearing the BB cream with my powder, it looked horrible up close in the mirror. Some parts of my face were darker than others and it looked like it was coming off my face in spots!! Thank God I was at a dark pub, other wise I would have freaked! Another thing was that it looked like I was wearing heavy foundation (which it says it's suppose to have skin matching blendable pigments). I'm upset that Annabelle only came out with 3 shades...Especially since the light one isn't right for anyone with an Ivory skin tone that has a pink undertone. I'm sad that this BB cream didn't work for me because it got really good reviews. The packaging is nice, you get a decent amount of product (40mL), and SPF 15 is always a good thing; it just didn't work out for me as I'd hoped.
Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Mega Plush
cassy2790 8/26/2012 10:06:00 PM
I have to start by saying my HG mascara since it came out was Volume Express The Falsies. It did wonders for my lashes but when my Falsies ran out earlier this month I decided why not try The Mega Plush? What made me want to try it was the light weight mousse formula. AND...I actually really enjoy it! I was worried about the flexing wand, but it's still very easy to handle/apply (I don't even notice the difference). This is now one of my favorite mascaras. It lives up to what the packaging says and still gives me good volume without clumping :) Give this mascara a try before you believe the negative things some people have been saying about it. You never know unless you try.
I have very short and light eye brows for having brown hair. Ever since I can remember (even before plucking them) I never had nice brows. I saw a few reviews on the internet about the E.L.F eyebrow kit and decided to try it. I bought the light brown and it looks pretty good with my brown hair because anything darker wouldn't look good. I use the wax first and fill in my brows, then use the shadow over top and then use a little bit of clear Maybelline mascara to set it. It has pretty good lasting power although this is the first eye brow kit I've ever used and the first time I've ever filled in my eye brows. Normally I don't have the time (or don't take the time) to fill them in unless it's an important day or event. For a first timer, this product was easy to work with and was mess free. If you make a mistake you can correct it very easily without having to start over.
I was trying to find a good kabuki brush without having to pay the hefty price tag when I found Ecotools Makeup Brushes at Walmart. I absolutely LOVE this kabuki brush! It is a retractable one made out of 100% recycled aluminum which is awesome. It's works lovely, the brush bristles are so soft and makes my skin feel amazing when I am putting on my pressed powder. Price was decent, at Walmart it was only $10.95 which was the cheapest I found and it's good quality that is good for the planet. It also comes in a really cute reusable and recyclable zip lock bag. Love it!
Eye Shadow -Annabelle - Trio eyeshadow in Crème Caramel
cassy2790 3/10/2012 1:57:00 AM
I was looking for some colors that would be more natural that I could use for a natural look or highlighting with other makeup. In CAN this retails for a little over $8. I love how the shadows have a little bit of a shimmer to them and they go on smooth and silky. I also love the packaging! It's great for traveling since it's in a nice case with a lid that is attached that snaps up and down. I do wish the 3 shadows were a little bit more pigmented though because even with primer, this shadows go on very light when your using a makeup brush. I don't think I would purchase this again because when I'm in a rush, I need my makeup to look good quickly and I feel like with this trio that it takes some extra time to get the colors to be as bold as you want even though it's a neutral look.
I've heard a lot about this mascara and looked up a whole bunch of reviews and decided to order it from my Avon Representative. As soon as I received it, I tried it out and I have to say I really like the wand. It grabs all of my lashes, pulls them up and separates them and gives them pretty good volume. One thing I noticed though is that it isn't dramatically black unless you put on 3 coats or more (that is a downfall). For some people that may take too much effort every day, especially when you're in a hurry. The formula can also be a little dry (for me anyway) but it still works well and doesn't clump or flake. Also, the tube is pretty boring. It is a black tube with greenish blue writing (very plain), but other than that a good, cheap mascara.
I was needing some more make-up remover but was trying to save some money this month. I walked into Walmart and noticed they had a new Simple line that was suppose to have no oil, non greasy, no scent, no color and no harsh chemical ingredients. It sounded amazing, and it even said it removed waterproof mascara. I tried it the next day and it wasn't as great as it sounded to be. It doesn't wash off waterproof mascara or 24 hour eye shadow very well. I scrubbed for a long time before it actually came off and due to all the rubbing, it just wasn't worth it for my eyes to be sore. I want a make-up remover that removes everything quickly and effortlessly so I'm defiantly never cheaping out again, I'll stick to my Marcelle Essentials Eye Make-up Remover for a couple extra dollars.
I watched A LOT of reviews on this product before actually going out and buying it. After looking at Walmart and Zellers with no luck I went to London Drugs. They only had Cherry which I didn't want, so I finally found the lip balm I wanted at Shoppers with a crazy price tag of $6.99! Probably because it's new. I bought one anyways though (Pink Punch.) In winter I always get chapped cracked lips and need a lip balm. I also really wanted to try it. It's been a few weeks and I've bought another one (Peach Kiss!) I found this one at Rexall Drug Store and it was on sale since they are new so it was $3.50 or so. I absolutely love these Baby Lips lip balms :) They go on smooth, give your lips a nice color pay off and keep your lips moisturized. I even put the lip balm on before bed and it is still there when I wake up so I always wake up with beautiful moist lips. Of course you have to use this lip balm daily, but with the fantastic smell and color pay off as well as your lips feeling soft and healthy, that is not a problem. What I also love is this lip balm is not sticky, it just glides on. I will continue buying these.
I really wanted to buy this again and see how it was. I used to use this mascara when I was a teenager back when it was a black and white applicator. I used to love this mascara, but now, not so much... I bought the XXL Extensions mascara in waterproof and Thank God it was on sale for only $7 because full price is $13 and I would have been really upset with myself for wasting that money. This mascara goes on okay, you have to put the black over top of the white fairly quickly other wise it takes forever to cover up the white. Also, I went to a party and stubbed my toe so I had a couple of tears and when I got home I noticed I that I had black marks above my eye lids *not pretty!* Then when I went to take off my makeup, this mascara did not want to come off! I had my makeup remover and was rubbing my eyes for 10 minutes and the mascara still never came fully off. One minute this mascara is leaving black marks above my eye lids and the next it won't come off? What the hell...? I don't think I would buy this again. It takes too long to put on and too long to take off. TOO MUCH EFFORT for crappy results.
Eye Primer -NYX - HD High Definition Eyeshadow Base
cassy2790 12/12/2011 7:42:00 PM
I bought this product because of all the reviews I've seen online. My eye lids sometimes become greasy and then my eye shadow doesn't stay as it should. This product really does work! I bought mine on Ebay since they didn't have the HD Eye Shadow Base here where I live. It works lovely. It goes on well due to the lip gloss applicator, dries quickly and makes my eye shadow last all day and gives my eye shadows great pigmentation. What's also great about it is that you don't need a whole bunch, just a dot or two on your eye lid, rub it in and your ready to apply your eye shadow. If you haven't tried this, defiantly try it!
At first I did really enjoy this product. I loved the wand, it really did separate my lashes and made them look decently long. I really liked the look of the tube of the mascara. It's easy to find in my makeup container due to the yellowish lid and black body. One of the downfalls on this product is the fact that it's not waterproof as of yet. This product does last all day even though it's not waterproof; just make sure to not cry or wipe your eyes during the day and you'll be good to go. The second downfall is after a month of having it and using it on and off, the formula got really dry and every time I would wear it, it would hurt my eyes and make my eyes feel really heavy; so I threw it away. I probably wouldn't bother buying it again just because of the bad experience.
I bought this eye shadow in the color Passionate Purple & Golden Goddess from the E.L.F website for $3 which all in it self is a steal, but what is even better is the fact that it actually works, and works well! I used this eye shadow with an eye shadow base from NYX and it worked really well together. My eye shadow defiantly stayed put and it had tons of pigmentation which I loved. The color seemed dark when it was in the container, but once I applied it I noticed you can control how light or dark you want the shadow to be. Even if you put the shadow on full force like I had it, it still looked beautiful for a day or evening look. It also really brought out the green in my eyes even though my eyes are suppose to be brown. I went out shopping the first time I put this shadow on and I got compliments on how beautiful the color of the eye shadow was. Great purchase all in all! Nice little glass container (be careful not to spill because it can get messy) and inexpensive for the quality you get. The only stupid thing is that little brush that comes with it. It's pointless, but not like that really matters. I would defiantly buy it again. I'm wanting to try the Golden Goddess shade since I've heard really good things about it.
Eye Shadow -Hard Candy - Kal-eye-descope Eyeshadow- Rock n Roll
cassy2790 6/25/2011 10:22:00 PM
My good friend has tons of these eye shadows and recommended me to try the product. I bought the kal-eye-descope eye shadow in Rock n Roll which is a light lilac purple and a dark plum color of purple. I enjoy the eye shadow but I don't love it. It doesn't go on very dark and during the day it turns into a liquid because I have greasy eyelids. I put the lilac on my eye lid and the plum color in the crease and it really brought out my brown eyes. I would maybe buy this eye shadow again if it stayed on better throughout the day. I like the packaging though. I like how the lid snaps open or closed and that the lid is attached so you don't have to worry about losing the lid.
