Moisturizers -H20 - Face Oasis Hydrating Treatment
carolino 3/26/2011 4:15:00 AM
I have oily/acne prone skin with dry cheeks, and this is the best! Whenever I need a smooth makeup application I put this on for 10min, wash it off and I have instantly smooth hydrated skin. Best of all, it doesn't break me out! but it does cause some blackheads on my nose if I leave it on overnight :o

Cleansers -Clarins - Cleansing Milk for oily to normal
carolino 3/26/2011 4:06:00 AM
If you are looking for a cleansing milk, this one is probably the best! I have tried several drugstore brand cleansing milk and also Origins Cleansing Milk. This is by far the best for oily/combo & sensitive skin. Here's why: + Doesn't feel oily, easy to wash off + Gives my dry cheeks enough moisture without making my t-zones oily + Still works great in humid climates + Cleans well without causing skin to feel tight + Doesn't break me out or make current acne worse. Overall great for people who have hyper, overly oily skin.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Egg White Mask for Acne Skin
carolino 9/24/2010 1:50:00 AM
My Skin Type: Oily, Acne-Prone Climate I live in: Very Humid & Hot tips on making it work: * Don't leave on too long... as soon as it is completely dry, wash it off. Leaving it on for too long ends up drying up the rest of my skin, thus producing more oil. * Make sure your skin is ABSOLUTELY clean before applying it. Sounds obvious, but my friend ended up breaking out when she applied this mask on top of her oily t-zones -_- * Apply only the egg whites, NOT the egg yolk. once again, sounds obvious - this is important because for some reason the egg yolk makes me break out, but not the egg white. * Spot treat. If you have combo skin, use it on your t-zones only. If you are acne prone, cover it on top of acne areas. When I used it on my cheeks (with no acne) it just made my face produce more oils, and thus, more acne! So don't put it all over your face unless you really need it everywhere. *wash it off with just water, using an acne cleanser to wash this mask off is way too drying. * apply a light moisturizer as soon as you wash it off. To lessen the tightening feeling after using this mask. Pro's: + Dries out stubborn Acne faster than any cleanser + Makes my skin appear less red and easier to cover up with makeup + calms my skin, so it's not overly oily or overly dry + cheap and fast Con's: - I just follow the tips above, and I don't have any other problems with this mask.

Toners -Shiseido - Elixir Vitalizing Softener
carolino 9/24/2010 12:55:00 AM
My Skin Type: Oily & Acne-Prone Climate I live in: Humid & Hot, but I often travel to dry, hot places as well. I really wanted to love this softener based on such great reviews! Although it left my skin very soft and less red, I think it's too much for someone living in a humid place. instead of preventing black heads like one reviewer said, I actually got more from using this!! :o Maybe this would be better suited for use in the winter or in a more dry climate.

Primer/ Corrector -Giorgio Armani - Fluid Master Primer
carolino 9/11/2010 5:58:00 AM
My Skin Type: Very Oily + Acne Prone Other primers I have used: - Lancome - Laura Mercier - Smashbox - Clinique Pro's: + easy to blend, but I highly recommend blending it into the skin with a sponge. + keeps my foundation from clumping and slipping off (I currently live in a very humid place) + makes my pores disappear + less greasy than Smashbox + doesn't break me out + keeps my makeup on max. 6 hours without touching up + most importantly --> when I blot with my Clean & Clear Oil controlling sheets during mid-day, my makeup doesn't come off with it!! :) so no more touch ups after blotting! Con's: + for some reason, it's not really great at keeping my liquid concealer on - only great at keeping liquid foundation. + my face gets really shiny & greasy after an hour or 2 of applying the primer. but after blotting only once during the day, it was fine. + I use a lot more foundation after using this primer, the primer seems to disperse and absorb my liquid foundation. Overall, great quality - a bit expensive. I think I'll try the Giorgio Armani Professional Makeup Primer next time and compare the consistency.

Moisturizers -Shiseido - ELIXIR - lifting emulsion II
carolino 7/9/2010 6:42:00 AM
I brought the ELIXIR lifting emulsion I for my oily/acne prone skin. I think it's a great moisturizer even in the humid summer. PROs: - evens out my skin tone really well.. my acne scars are less visible (after 4 weeks of every day use) - my pores are less visible - doesn't clog my pores or irritate my skin CONS: - i am not too crazy about the scent overall, I highly recommend this moisturizer ( ELIXIR emulsion I, not II <-- it's too heavy for oily/acne prone skin in the summer). It really evens out your skin and reduces the look of pores. money well spent!

Moisturizers -Origins - Starting Over (with Mimosa)
carolino 6/26/2010 10:41:00 PM
Overall, I think this was only a so-so very basic moisturizer. nothing amazing or anything to rave about. I used up the whole jar thinking if I stick to it long enough, I would see some difference in my skin (I was expecting a healthier, more even complexion): (+) * It doesn't break me out (I have very oily and acne prone skin) * the scent is not too overpowering * it moisturizes -- but that's about it. nothing else. (-) * too heavy for me.. especially on humid summer nights * doesn't absorb into the skin easily * doesn't do much... I would rather stick to serums or their Make A Difference Moisturizer (smells better, lighter, and also moisturizes well) I had better luck with Lancome's Primordiale night recharge (equally greasy, but at least I saw a difference!)

Eye Primer -Too Faced - Shadow Insurance, Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer
carolino 6/16/2010 3:24:00 AM
I think this product works pretty well! :D After using shadow insurance, my mac eyeliner and eye shadow usually last about 6-7 hours on my oily lids -- and in humid weather! But I think it only works is if I apply an extra layer of loose powder on top of my lids after applying this eye primer... it really helps things stick. without this extra layer of loose powder, this primer does nothing for me. but using loose powder itself without the primer does nothing either. so they have to be used in combination for some reason... however, I find it works terribly with under eye concealer! It actually makes the concealer "ball up" and in turn, a mess. so I highly recommend this product as a primer for eye makeup only.

Sunscreen -Shiseido - Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion SPF 55 PA+++ [DISCONTINUED]
carolino 11/27/2009 11:26:00 AM
This is the only sunscreen I can use on my face without breaking out! Pros: - high sunscreen protection - greasy at first but dries fast - great under makeup if used with primer - doesn't break me out, even when I have major acne.. I can still use this without having any extra irritation or extra breakouts - doesn't rub off easily onto clothes like the neutrogena ones (example: such as leaving white marks after taking off a t-shirt) - doesn't sweat off and sting my eyes (it's highly water resistant, as promised) Con: none. Overall, I have been using this for about 5 years straight. I have yet to find something better. Other sunscreen products I have tried: Neutrogena La Roche Posay Murad

Moisturizers -Lancome - Primordiale Night Skin Recharge
carolino 11/27/2009 11:11:00 AM
**UPDATE*** 6/27/2010 although I originally said this heavy cream was too much for humid nights.. I decided to stick to it for a couple of months -- and I am finally seeing a difference!! Although it's heavy, greasy and over fragranced for me (more like a greasy mess on my acne-prone face.. but didn't break me out), it really does it's job! my skin looks a lot healthier, more radiant, even-toned and my smile lines look a lot less prominent! the downside is, I had to use it for a couple of months to really see the results. I removed one lippy because of it's greasiness. ------------------------------------------------------------- 11/29/2009 Pros: - doesn't break me out - moisturizes fully - solves all my winter flakiness - I don't need to put on much for it to moisturize my skin - flakiness was gone within one night - great for winters, but probably not in the summer! - did not irritate acne Cons: - beware, if you live in humid places this might be too greasy for you - despite every reviewer's comment on that "initial" greasiness.. the greasiness stayed no matter how long i rubbed it into my skin - I am not a big fan of that Lancome fragrance, it caught me by surprise since I haven't used their skincare products for awhile - feels heavy on the skin, a real cream Overall, I don't see any dramatic difference in my skin, it's not anymore "radiant" or "uniform" or "healthier" as it reads on the lancome website. It moisturizes, and that's about it. I think you can find better, less greasy and expensive ways to moisturize your skin.

Crème -Laura Mercier - Silk Creme Foundation
carolino 10/19/2009 10:10:00 AM
I love this foundation! Other foundations I have used: Mac Studio Fix - Perfect Coverage, but Clogged my pores Lancome , Shiseido, Clinique - all not enough coverage Sue Devitt - not enough coverage, clogged my pores other drugstore brands used: Cover Girl, L'oreal, Revlon - all broke me out like crazy. LM Silk Creme Foundation: Pro: - goes on easy, very easy to blend - full coverage, covers my acne scars without any extra concealer. all I need to do is blend in an extra layer on specific areas. - doesn't break me out even in humid weather - lasts longer than my LM powder foundation - a little goes a long way. I received a sample in a small tube which lasted me for 8 months! Con: - can be a hit or miss on combination skin. I have dry spots and oily skin at the same time. sometimes this foundation can really high light dry spots!! so a good primer and moisturizer is a must. - highly recommend layering LM powder foundation or any powder foundation to set this foundation if you live in a humid place. my oil slicks have caused this foundation to shift and melt, causing streaks :O !

Treatments (Eye) -Shiseido - NutriPerfect Eye Serum
carolino 9/28/2009 12:08:00 PM
This is far the best eye cream I have ever used! I have dry under eye circles that tend to get flaky when I use my Laura Mercier concealer. On top of that, I have oily lids! :( I also live in a humid place, so I was looking for a serum that moisturizes with out causing little bumps ! Pros: - the serum is light, doesn't feel heavy but moisturizes very well - doesn't cause little bumps on the skin below my eyes - comes in a pump (I think this is more sanitary) - easy to blend in, easily absorbed - doesn't feel greasy - I also have sensitive skin around my eyes -- this does not burn or caused any allergic reaction for me. Cons: - nothing! it's worth every penny! other brands I have tried: - Biotherm - Oil of Olay - Other Shiseido eye creams (which cannot compete with this one!!) - Clinique - Khiels - Neutrogena - The BodyShop - Shu eumura - Lancome

This eye cream was only okay.. nothing amazing or anything special that would make me buy this again. The only thing it does is lightly moisturize but does nothing for my under eye circles.

Scrubs -Peter Thomas Roth - Anti-Aging Buffing Beads
carolino 8/20/2009 2:13:00 PM
This is the best scrub I have ever used! : ) Pro: - doesn't break me out - buffing beads gentle on the skin - cleans very well - doesn't dry my face out - not greasy, creamy or heavy. - smells great Con: - hard to rinse off completely. I didn't realize I still had buffing beads on my face -- until one day I used a foaming cleanser after using the scrub... I had quite a few buffing beads on my face that were washed off by the foaming cleanser ! o_o

Moisturizers -Origins - Make A Difference Skin Rejuvenating Treatment
carolino 8/20/2009 2:07:00 PM
Pros: - doesn't break me out (even under humid weather) - great moisturizer for oily/acne prone skin - smells great - easily absorbed, light texture Con: - none overall, makes my skin look healthier after a couple of weeks. I have also used it on my neck (I have horizontal lines on my neck :( ) and they have disappeared after 2 weeks of using this product.
